   *What is recession? *

This story is about a man who once upon a time was selling Hotdogs by the
roadside. He was illiterate, so he never read newspapers. He was hard of
hearing, so he never listened to the radio. His eyes were weak, so he never
watched television. But enthusiastically, he sold lots of hotdogs. He was
smart enough to offer some attractive schemes to increase his sales. His
sales and profit went up. He ordered more a more raw material and buns and
sold more. He recruited more supporting staff to serve more customers. He
started offering home deliveries. Eventually he got himself a bigger and
better stove. As his business was growing, the son, who had recently
graduated from college, joined his father.

 Then something strange happened.

The son asked, Dad, aren't you aware of the great recession that is
coming our way? The father replied, No, but tell me about it. The son
said, The international situation is terrible. The domestic situation is
even worse. We should be prepared for the coming bad times.

The man thought that since his son had been to college, read the papers,
listened to the radio and watched TV. He ought to know and his advice should
not be taken lightly. So the next day onwards, the father cut down the his
raw material order and buns, took down the colorful signboard, removed all
the special schemes he was offering to the customers and was no longer as
enthusiastic. He reduced his staff strength by giving layoffs. Very soon,
fewer and fewer people bothered to stop at his Hotdog stand. And his sales
started coming down rapidly and so did the profit. The father said to his
son, Son, you were right. We are in the middle of a recession and crisis.
I am glad you warned me ahead of time.

2009-01-28 Thread maninder singh
Tunnu this is such a bitter truth that you said in here.
Just like when we have to go to somebody's funeral. We look at our schedule
and
see if we can go or not but if we have to go to some party then we can make
arrangements at the last minute.
We don't realise the goal of our life or we don't live with facts and so on.
GREAT THOUGHTS TUNNU.
You made us think about how materialistic we are and how hipocrate we are.
God bless or GHPS group.

Isn't it strange how difficult it is to read one chapter of the Guru Granth

Isn't it strange how we send jokes in e-mails and they are forwarded right

exghps1988v_v Re: Celente Predicts Revolution, Food Riots, TaxRebellions in US By 2012

2008-12-04 Thread maninder singh
Amarpal,
Sorry,I know you asked this question from Bindu but i was also
part of the conversation so i am saying something.
I was reading the comments on MSN of one of the renowned economists. His
opinion is that it is going to be the biggest recession in
history and ofcourse it will effect the whole world but in his opinion it
will not be a depression because of several changes in the
infrastructures of the countries since 1920's(the last depression of U.S)
If you log on msn.com and read the comments and reasonings of this person
then they do make sense.
But again, these are anticipations, guesses or predictions so they could be
wrong.
As you must have read few months ago there was a big food shortage in some
states which is quite paradoxical for U.S.
One of the biggest banks of U.S named WAMU went out of business last
month.U.S government is doing economic bail outs for
several different businesses.Banks then auto industry and don't know which
is next.
I know several U.S based companies have closed thier numerous offices in
India which means the begining of recession in
India as well. These companies went to India and spoiled the new generation
by giving them hefty salaries.
Now,the new generation is spoiled. If they will lose their jobs then it will
increase crime and so on.
Let's all pray to God for HIM to shower his love on all of us and give
prosperity and happiness to everybody in this world.

 THE OLD MOTOR

The marriage of an 80 year old man and a 20 year old woman was the

'Thisis amazing. How do you do it at your age?'

The same nurse was attending the delivery and again went out to

The same nurse was there for this birth also and, after the delivery,

 How do you do it?'

The old man replied, 'It's like I've told you before, you gotta keep

The nurse, still smiling, patted him on the back and said:

Well, I guess it's time to change the oil. This one is black

2008-11-14 Thread maninder singh
My dear Kamaljeet,
Nobody is greedy about dinner!! What happened
was when i saw Jatinder and Joban on this website then it reminded me of how
they used to snatch our rotis in grade 4th or 5th.It just took me back into
those sweet old nostalgic memories. That's all it is.
Now,when i came to know last month that Jatinder was near Seattle,i sent him
emails jokingly that i am coming for dinner. He never responded to those
emails. So,i thought may be he does not want to meet.
Today, when i saw his email and tried to find his whereabouts,i realised that
he is very close by.Not only that but we pass by his workplace pretty much 3
or 4 times a week. The town that he lives in,we were there yesterday for
shopping.
So,I was excited and i wrote jokingly that i am coming for dinner.
Not to worry about my dear i will definitely meet you when i come to India.

   Economic Models Explained with Cows

 India
 You have two Cows.
 But don't give milk.
Start an export house to sell urine and dung in Tetra Pack -
 - At five time the price of milk and butter.

 SOCIALISM
 You have 2 cows.
You give one to your neighbour.

 COMMUNISM
 You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and gives you some milk.

 FASCISM
 You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and sells you some milk.

 NAZISM
 You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and shoots you.

 BUREAUCRATISM
 You have 2 cows.
The State takes both, shoots one, milks the other,
and then throws the milk away...

 TRADITIONAL CAPITALISM
 You have two cows.
You sell one and buy a bull.
Your herd multiplies, and the economy grows.
You sell them and retire on the income.

 SURREALISM
 You have two giraffes.
The government requires you to take harmonica lessons

 AN AMERICAN CORPORATION
 You have two cows.
You sell one, and force the other to produce the milk of four cows.
Later, you hire a consultant to analyse why the cow has dropped dead.

 ENRON VENTURE CAPITALISM
 You have two cows.
You sell three of them to your publicly listed company, using letters of
credit opened by your brother-in-law at the bank,
 then execute a debt/equity
swap with an associated general offer
so that you get all four cows back, with a tax exemption for five cows..
The milk rights of the six cows are transferred via an intermediary to a
Cayman Island Company secretly owned by the majority shareholder
 who sells
the rights to all seven cows back to your listed company.
The annual report says the company owns eight cows,
 with an option on one
 more.
You sell one cow to buy a new president of the United States, leaving you
 with nine cows.
No balance sheet provided with the release.
The public then buys your bull.

 THE ANDERSEN MODEL
 You have two cows.
 You shred them.

 A FRENCH CORPORATION
 You have two cows.
You go on strike, organise a riot, and block the roads, because you want
 three cows.

 A JAPANESE CORPORATION
 You have two cows.
You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and
 produce twenty times the milk.
You then create a clever cow cartoon image called 'Cowkimon'
 and market it worldwide.

 A GERMAN CORPORATION
 You have two cows.
You re-engineer them so they live for 100 years, eat once a month, and
 milk
 themselves.

 AN ITALIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows, but you don't know where they are.
 You decide to have lunch.

 A RUSSIAN CORPORATION
 You have two cows.
You count them and learn you have five cows.
You count them again and learn you have 42 cows.
You count them again and learn you have 2 cows.
You stop counting cows and open another bottle of vodka.

 A SWISS CORPORATION

You have 5,000 cows. None of them belong to you.
You charge the owners for storing them.

 A CHINESE CORPORATION
 You have two cows.
You have 300 people milking them.
You claim that you have full employment, and high bovine productivity.
You arrest the newsman who reported the real situation.

 AN INDIAN CORPORATION
 You have two cows.
 You worship them. ..

 A BRITISH CORPORATION
 You have two cows.
 Both are mad.

 AN IRAQI CORPORATION
Everyone thinks you have lots of cows.
You tell them that you have none.
No-one believes you, so they bomb the out of you and invade your
 country.
 You still have no cows

Suddenly, I heard someone shouting at the top of his
voice.I turned back to see, that a man in his mid fifties, was holding the
hand of a young sikh boy (must be in teens).
I can never forget the face of that innocent boy.He was
light complexioned, and blessed with very photogenic features, but he was
poorly dressed,bare-foot and without Patka or Dastar. Then my attention
diverted, back to that middle aged man,who seemed to be genuinely cheated by
that young boy. That man gave a tight slap on the face of that boy,and
snatched a bottle from him and threw it on the road. There was white color
liquid in the bottle.Even after receiving 2-3 really hard blows, the boy
remained unmoved, and did not even cry for help.
I could not resist my self any more and
tried to intervene. That man calmed, and a bit politely said,Sardarji aap
isko nahi jaantay, yeh sabko chutia banata hai. In the process
the boy got his hand freed, suddenly all his innocence
 disappeared.That boy,who seemed speechless,till now,started abusing that
man with all sorts of M.C.'s and B.C.'s.I could not believe my
ears. After covering a short distance, the boy picked up a stone and hurled
 at
the man, that missed his head by half an inch.Man shouted,Daikha
 Sardarji,yeh B.C. issi kaabil hai.

exghps1988v_v Re: School Bus in India

2008-10-15 Thread maninder singh
Ok Friends,
I have a suggestion to start this contribution of ours to
education in India.
Let's do it in a professional manner so that none of us ever points finger
at anybody
for anything(Money matter is a very crucial matter. It can create lots of
friction and fights
for small little amount). So,we must foresee that.
Let's make Tunnu,Nobi and Premjit as the board members.
They will open an account in some bank in the name of Exghps1988.
Anybody from our group who wants to put money in that account can mail a
check
to one of these three people making the cheque in favour of exghps1988.
The name of the donor and the amount donated will be kept confidential.
There will be no minimum amount to be donated.
The board members can decide where they want to donate money out of
that account.
We would prefer if it goes to a school like the one suggested by Ripudaman.
The cheque will have to be signed by atleast two board members in order to
write a cheque for donation.
Every month one of the board members can post the balance on our website
along with
the amounts deposited and the amount and place where donated. This way we
will know what's in there and what has been
donated and what is needed and stuff.
Anytime they will donate any amount out of it they will post that on the
website
with the amount and place where they donated this.
Please!! Make some suggestions.
We are planning on doing something for good cause.
Let's do it in a professional manner.
I talked to Amarpal and he is quite interested in pursuing in this matter
too.

2008-10-09 Thread maninder singh
Friends,
U.S and Canadian economies are going through a deep plunge. How
is it effecting the economy in India??
The thing is that these days the world is very small and it is very closely
knit.Something happens in one part of the world,
It effects the whole world. Here in U.S and Canada the Stock market is
crashing every now and then.
So,the western economy is going through a very bad time.It is going to be
worst.
I mean the banks are going bankrupt so you can imagine how it is.

exghps1988v_v Re: NEVER QUIT

2008-09-29 Thread maninder singh
My Dear Tunnu and all my friends,
  We do Paath everyday but
we just hear(not listen and understand) it.We have been blessed with Guru
Granth Sahib Ji in inheritance and that's why don't realise the authentic
value of it.
I am trying to substantiate the Tunnu's way of explaining things.

In the last Pauri of Japji Sahib.

Jat pahara dheeraj suniar, ehran mat ved hathiar !!
 Bho khala agan tap tao!!
Bhanda bhao amrit tit dhaal !!!
 Gharie sabad sachee taksal !!!
Jin ko nadar karam tin kar
 Nanak nadri nadar nihal !!!

Here what our beloved Gurus are explaining is !!!
Pahara is the utensil in which a goldsmith melts gold.So Guru says
that
we need to be strong like that because it sits on fire.
We need the patience of a goldsmith(he has to be patient, precise
and
 persistent in what he does)
Ehran is the stick with which he stirs the melting gold.
We need a brain of kind of ehran because the way it stirs the gold
that's what makes
the gold extract from other unwanted stuff in raw gold.
Then the gold goes through all that heat and melting.
We go through all the hardships and sufferings in our life.
We need to sit and do meditation which is like doing TAP(what

Let me tell you what happened when a student from punjab was preparing for
exams.
The teacher taught them an essay on MY FRIEND

In the exam students got an essay writting onMY FATHER

So,Our Punjabi friend had memorised the essay on my friend only.

Without hesitation he started writting Father in place of friend.
Now,this is the essay looked like.

I have many fathers but one father is very dear to me.He is my best

In the end of the essay he writes,Father in need is father indeed.

My dear friends,
I am writting this to share my life with my
friends. So,Please don't take it in this sense that i am bragging about
something.I am sharing this with all of you taking you all as my
confidants.Somehow,i have some nostalgic beautiful and innocent memories
attached with all of you.
When i came to Canada in last week of December of
1995.I lost everything. All i was left was with 2 pairs of jeans,2 shirts and
a blanket.
My destiny brought me on streets.I had not eaten for two days and i started
getting fever.I had only 45 cents left in my pocket.I was staying in
somebody's garage. It was super cold. There was snow outside.
I kept trying to find a job and couldn't find the littlest job possible.
I used to be Amritdhari in the past and would say
prayers to God in the past alot. Now,when i was penny less and walking on
streets i prayed to God and said Lord even if you are going to make it worst
than this I still wouldn't leave you.I love you and it is unconditional. No
matter how many hardships i will go through i would still not give up loving
you.
The same afternoon,a guy came to the person's house
whose garage i was living in and was talking to them and saying that one of
his workers in the farm didn't show up.
I asked him if he would offer me a job.He said it is
very hard work.I said i promise that i will not dissappoint him.
I worked in his field for about 5 hours and it started raining.I saw this
lightening. It felt like God started crying and HE said,Son!! You have made
me re-write your destiny. You will be very successful from now on.
After that my friends! My success started and By God's
grace today i am very successful in life.
Bhupi used to live in Canada at the time and he has seen me working as a
dish washer in a restaurant.
Today,Even if i say thanks to that Almighty Lord with
every single breath it still won't be enough.
