2011-03-19 Thread Mike Finch
French Fry was rescued yesterday. I was in comms with Linda yesterday one on
one saying exactly what you said, that all I could do was pray. Within 30
minutes of me sending that email I got a reply back that Linda had placed the
cat with someone about thirty minutes prior! Now that's an express answer to a
prayer! :D

Thought you would want to know.

Re: [Felvtalk] how to know if your only needs a friend?

2010-12-17 Thread Mike Finch
I'm with you Claudia!! The reality is that there are no rules... only imagined
tendencies. :)

I recently saw a very sweet movie called The Answer Man. I highly recommend
it. In it, the lead female character said three things that she lives by that
I
totally love.

1) Never take advice from someone you wouldn't switch places with.
2) Try not to do anything you can't take back.
3) Something is what it is... and it's not something else.

#3 is how I approach cat relationships, or for that matter humans too. It's
personalities and chemistry. Nothing more. And thank God for that. It makes
life joyfully interesting. :)

I think it depends on the cat, I have knowns very sweet and friendly female
cats

who like being with other cats, I know some others on here made genralizations
about female cats, but I wouldn't do that, I think it really depends on the
cat,

Re: [Felvtalk] Insight Please

2010-12-11 Thread Mike Finch
Hi All,

I live in Chile, and the feline specialist that we were so lucky to find
explained it this way to me when only one of the two kittens we rescued tested
positive. She says that a kitten will find a teat that they prefer on the
mother, based on taste and smell, and that they will nurse only on that one and
not move around. She said that a kitten will wait it's turn when there aren't
enough to go around. She said that since it's a virus, it is possible that
only
one or some of the teats are infected, and therefore it would only be passed to
the kittens that nursed on those particular ones.

It seems like a plausible explanation. Can anyone out there concur about the
selective nursing or possibility that if a mother is positive that not all of
her teats would be infected?

even
figure out what CLS means! :| I've been drawing a blank now for about six
months, and am so tired of trying I figured I'd just own up to it and hope
someone will enlighten me. ;) Your email hit me especially hard because I can
picture everything you described about you and your boy. Your'e right. They
DO
know when they are special in particular to you. And my heart sores knowing
that Caeser had you to make him feel that way. The extra special and sweet
posts, such as yours, are so heart warming even with the weight of the sorrow
and the tears. It's the love in your/our heart(s) that shores itself up
against
that heavy load.

We care about you, and I will pray for you, and hope that this weight will be
lifted in the days to come, and eased by your precious memories of Caeser. God
bless you.

Re: [Felvtalk] I killed my kitten last night...

2010-11-08 Thread Mike Finch
Dear Kim,

So glad that you have the other three to help ease your hurt. Thank you for
sharing images of the joy you two experienced. Paws on the face is one of the
most 'human things they do, and is such a personal expression from them to us.
In response, who hasn't munched down on those spongy little pads and play
gobbled them up and not been bothered a bit by the sudden chalkiness of a
little
tidbit of litter! ;D To hear you focusing on those kinds of special moments
means your heart is already mending, even though, yes, it will be very slow,
especially in lost relationships. Each day the brokenness grows less, and God
helps us to see through the clearer eyes of grace rather than the blurriness of
sorrow. A little more emphasis on every precious moment you had with her comes
more naturally than a painful thought or regret, and suddenly somehow you can
talk about it without growing a pumpkin in your throat. :) That's God healing
his child who honored him by loving and caring for his creation.

God bless,

Mike :)

Dear Kim,

Your little baby just couldn't do it any more. That's all. Her little
precious
life just expended itself. All the while she did have life in her, she had the
warmth of your loving touch and the softness of your lips against her too, as
surely you kissed her a thousand times or more in her brief little life. Love
is our only true form of communication with these precious creatures God has
blessed us with, so you no doubt talked her little ears off. :)

I know you are suffering and questioning yourself. That's natural. Just don't
burden yourself with too much of the latter. You didn't intend any harm upon
her, so your heart is pure. Please believe that.

I cried for you this morning knowing the pain you are feeling, and my heart
hurts for you. Let me, and others here, lift you up with our prayers and
