Well, if there is a similar problem on this is the first time I
noticed it being mentioned. As far as I remember the problem on the
Mac side was attributed to the change to OS X, since it started in
2k4.
Also, the problem you mentioned it the opposite to what is currently
the problem on the Mac.

Actually, I don't see it as the opposite at all, since I'm
approaching it from a programmer's point of view. I see it as a
problem with the handling of MouseUp and MouseDown events in the page
navigation widgets. And it's both the backward and forward widgets
that I experience the problem with.

Or, the emergence of an existing problem in the codebase, but now on
a different platform.

It seems there is something wrong with the widgets Finale uses for
page navigation, and my assumption is that MakeMusic does not
maintain completely independent codebases for components like that
(there may be a layer that is OS-specific, but it would be very
complicated to maintain two completely different versions of those
widgets).

I use widgets of this kind and size that do the same thing in lots of
other applications, and never have this kind of problem with them, so
it's not a problem inherent to my mousing capability -- it's
something about Finale's implementation.

On the Mac side the problem started in 2k4, the first OS X version, as
far as I remember originally in the opposite manner, and then
over-corrected in a maintenance release.

I've always had precisely the opposite problem -- clicks *don't*
change the page (or the page number) and then a second click skips a
page.

I have *both* problems. I brought up the skipping behavior on this list
a few months ago, and was assured that it was an OSX issue, not a Finale
issue.
Definitely not. Originally the problem was that the buttons were not
responsive enough, and required several clicks. Trying to fix this some
maintenance update started having the page skip problems.

However, as far as I know it is a problem only in the OS X versions of
Finale.

I've always had precisely the opposite problem -- clicks *don't*
change the page (or the page number) and then a second click skips a
page. I've always figured there was something holding up the updating
of the screen display (both the page and the page number) that caused
this, but have never figured out what it might be. For me, this
problem goes back at least to WinFin97, and I'm still seeing it in
WinFin2K3.

Yep, me too. Only skips one page either way though, back or forward,

This has been a bug for at least the last two versions (FinMac 2004 &

Thanks for pointing this out Robert. You're quite right, a staccato

No, Vincent, just a plain vanilla Apple "ProMouse". I have a notion that the problem really began when computer speeds increased. yes, I've had this happen.   Are you using a Kensington mouse or trackball?   There are times when it seems to stick in the down position.   I notice this when scrolling or drag selecting.

You have answers to No. 1. For No. 2 Either you didn't click Save
after setting reverb override or your sound card or effects box got a
Controller 91 message that turned reverb up and never got a zero
message to turn it off. Try this: a) be sure the "Override Reverb" in
