[Audyssey] Tenpin Alley Suggestion
Hi all, Tried the demo of TP Alley, great game with cool sound effects, just a few random questions and thoughts. Can't it be possible to make computer opponents? That's the thing that puts me a bit off the game, that you need other players, also, what I'd like to know is, a bit of a dumb question, but when you've figured out how to do a strike, like on which tone to press and when to swing, if you do that all the time, are you then guaranteed strikes, like is the game sort of stuck in that respect, because it wouldn't be cool if you can bowl strikes all the time without the game losing a lot of playability. This game really could be improved by allowing tournaments, competitions where computers become harder and harder, give the game like an aim where you can, for example play against computers of varying difficulty for the World Championship, etc? Oh no, aiming in the right spot will get you strikes most of the time, but there's always a chance that the pins won't cooperate. I've had that happen on many occasions. It's all just luck. Cool, thanks for that, I remember there was a bowling game on Nintendo, and it was possible, for example on the first role, if you did a certain thing, I think it was two steps left and bowl at half, you used to get strike every time! Hi Ari, Since I worked on the TenPin bowling game I can answer your questions. I would have taken a lot longer to come up with computer opponents and the main feature of bowling is to try to get a better score, so you are really playing against all your past scores. That is in the registered version. It records your results and you can follow your average as it gets higher as you get better with the game. In the easiest setting the game is very easy to get strikes and a perfect 300 score, but when you get to harder difficulty levels it is almost impossible to get a perfect score. We put the easiest setting in for small children and people just learning the game. We had hoped to give the game an on-line play against others capability, but Draconis has been tied up with other projects and has put off working on doing that. Re: [Audyssey] Some interesting ocurrences in Monty B8
Hi Tom, Quote the first vanishing platform on level 1. I went to jump Angela across, and rather than the metalic landing on the platform sound that I should have gotten it simply made the crumbling ledge sound as though I had managed to jump all the way across and that is in fact how it acted. End quote Yes, I've seen this bug as well. I believe this is related to the spikes bug where you can walk across them without taking any health damage or dying. What is likely happening here is you are landing on the spikes without dying, and then walking across them. Since there is not related sound for walking over a spike it is defaulting to the last sound loaded which was the ledges. Quote The next thing happened when I went to kill the spider in the dark room on level 1, I will try to start remembering to check what room I am in when reporting these things, it is not a habit I am currently in. Anyhow when I went to swing the sword to kill the spider it made the first sound, guess it is the sword being drawn, then Angela got killed. I don't consider that a problem, I figure I just let the spider get too close before using the sword. But here's the interesting thing, after she got killed it went on and made the sound of the spider being killed. End quote Yeah, this happened to me as well. The reason is that the game isn't processing both actions simaltaniously so they are taken in the order the game processes the requests in the game loop. I agree it is sometimes a really funny thing when you die, but you also get to kill the monster after you are dead. I can't tell you how many Atari games where the enemies got me, but as I am dying I also took them out as well. It was a real laugh. There was this one Atari game, UFO, where you were suppose to fly over this planet zapping tanks and stuff with your lazers that was on the ground. I can't remember how many times I would get zapped by a tank and i would remain on screen a few seconds too long where I could blow up the tank or enemy that killed me before crashing into the ground. Either that or as I was crashing I would position the UFO over the enemy who killed me so i would crash into it killing it. Real funny way to go out in a bang. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org. [Audyssey] Tenpin Alley and Prize Wheel Suggestion
Hey Phil I still have that runtime error for the game. It's very strange I even get it on my new Vista computer . Any quick ideas. Also I like to see a similar program like GM Dice. A Prize Wheel. This would be a simpler version of the GM Dice. Al the wheel would have a set number say 24 or 30. A set of F keys could do the spin. I have set up GM Dice to be something like I want. I swap out a few audio files with a Click, Click Click sound and then set the voice say the number it lands on. The replacements was for the 1 die and I may have to go to the double dice sound. Many times when spinning I get a dice sound effect. If you want to hear Crash's Christmas Wheel I will be using my GM Dice with my changes today at 2:30pm ET on FTP. Sat at 8:30 Sunday and Monday at again 2:30pm. Look for me in the Crash's Surprise Theater room where I will be dong Christmas classic stories. The Wheel now is up to $50. How it works is during breaks each room participate will get a chance at the spin on the wheel. Right now during the Christmas time the wheel is set up to 30. While no one is talking one one of my computer I spin the wheel and if I hear a dice roll I keep doing it until I hear my spinning Wheel then press the Control key to broad cast the sound and the outcome. That's why if you or anybody can create a easy Spinning wheel may even with exchangeable voices since the wheel highest number will not going to be really a big number. Or even let it be a part of GM Dice where one of the F keys can just do the Prize Wheel. Now if one wants to bring it even further for a Prize Wheel. Instead of numbers actually prizes could be put on the wheel. A program with both options of numbers and prizes would be really cool. The intro music for such a program. What else Spinning Wheelso! The sound effect of the wheel can also have different sounds. From wooden clicks, metal clicks to beeping. Re: [Audyssey] Tenpin Alley and Prize Wheel Suggestion
Hi Gary, If you want to use the GMA dice for a prize wheel, you should know that each of the f keys has 3 sounds attached to it. F1 has dr11.wav, dr12.wav, and dr13.wav So if you want to replace the dice roll sound for f1 you need to replace the three sounds above with a wheel sound but using the same 3 file names. If you pick f4 then you would need to replace dr41.wav, dr42.wav, and dr43.wav with a wheel sound. phil - Original Message - From: Gary Whittington [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Friday, December 14, 2007 1:56 PM Subject: [Audyssey] Tenpin Alley and Prize Wheel Suggestion Hey Phil I still have that runtime error for the game. Re: [Audyssey] gamer wanting a challenge!
Hi Daniel, There are several accessible game choices out here, I so happen to be an accessible game developer myself. Anyway, here is a list of some of my favorite games out there that are pretty challenging and lots of fun. 1. Rail Racer. This all new game from Blind Adrenaline Symulations allows you to drive a rail racer at speeds of 300 MPH against an art racer on several different styles of rail tracks. in this game you not only race, but must do several types of stunts such as jumping over jumps, avoid force fields, take loops, and tight curves all with good training and skill. If you are really good you can sign up to play against the best Rail Racers over the net in network game play. It is one of the most challenging and fun games out there right now if you are into motor sports. You can get Rail Racer from: http://www.blindadrenaline.com 2. GMA Tank Commander. Take command of a modern tank for some sserious combat against enemy forces. Complete six objectives including destroying inteligence bases, hunting down ammo and supply trucks, destroy a train carrying troops, and more as you lead the allies to victory. Again one of the most realistic and fun blind accessible games out there. You can get GMA Tank Commander from: http://www.gmagames.com 3. Star Trek Final Conflict. Take command of the Federation fleet as you defend the Federation from Klingons, Romulans, and Borg in this turn based combat strategy game. It's very challenging for most gamers and you can find it at my web site: http://www.usagames.us 4. Montezuma's Return. In this all new side-scroller you can take the roll of Angela Summers as she navigates Emperor Montezuma's forgotten fortress hunting for gems, gold, and other lost treasures. You must avoid or flee several traps and monsters. You can find a demo of the current test release from my web site: http://www.usagames.us 5. Sarah And the Castle Of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In this all new FPS game play Sarah, a teenage girl, as she breaks in to Hogwarts for an evening of magic making and exploration. Drop in to visit some of the characters from the Harry Potter books, avoid the caretaker, and solve lots of puzzles. You can get it from: http://www.pcsgames.net 6. Monkey Business. After Dr. Smegles lab has been robbed you must set out on an adventure to capture all the monkeys from the lab and locate all the missing teleporters. Along the way you must explore such places as the jungle, ancient Aztec temple, climb a wall of vines, navigate deadly ledges, visit a western town, and more. Finally, you must find Dr. Wobble and defeat him to complete your mission. Sorry, there is no demo, but it is truly a fun game. You can get it from: http://www.draconisentertainment.com These are just some of the games out there accessible to us, and prove to be quite challenging and are fun to play for hours. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] anyone tried the new Bop It download?
Hi Folks, I tried to find the Bop-It download on a US site but could only find it in the UK. New Bop It Download offers customisable beats Bop It, Twist It, Flick It, Pull It and Spin It by Stuart Miles 27 August 2007 Hasbro, the company behind Bop It, is hoping to bring new appeal to fans of the game, but those bored of the tunes and beats. Bop It Download, is the latest version of the 21st century Simon says and follows on from the success of Bop It Extreme II, by included all the original features but with a bespoke twist. The game still requires players to follow the instructions to the beat hitting Bop It, Twist It, Flick It, Pull It and Spin It but now the whole experience can be customised with a selection of new voices and tunes from the company's website. Players can ditch the original American voice and download something more quirky instead such as; a Pirate, Cockney, a mean-spirited gameshow host, a posh American it girl, a good old country bumpkin and a Chav. Voices are available online to download for free with more to be added in the months to come. Not only can people download new voices, they can also record their own with the included microphone. It's not just voices that can be customised, but the music and sounds can also be changed. The new Bop It features a sleek angular design and even adds lights into each action to help, and later hinder players. Re: [Audyssey] anyone tried the new Bop It download?
hi it is crap as the bop it button is now coloured so one has to press the side of the button that lights up, this may or may not happens, this is damn unfair as all otehr bopits have been totally accessible and a score of 250 is peanuts compared to 1000 On 15 Dec 2007, at 01:12, Yohandy wrote: a new bop it hand held just came out called the Bop it download. has anyone tried it yet? Re: [Audyssey] gamer wanting a challenge!
Hi Daniel! I play 3 games that I think are lots of fun and challenging. They are lone wolf, shades of doom and startrek. You can get these games from gmagames.com. These games are written by David Greenwood. Thomas Ward at usegames also has good games but I don't have his, yet. PS. Lone wolf has the ability of the player to write missions and have them added to the web site for others to play.
