[Audyssey] Windhammer gamebook prize

2009-06-15 Thread dark
Just to let everyone know, the chronicles of Arborell are running the 2009
prize for gamebook fiction.

Winning entries get hosted on the site, pluss there is a cash prize, --- so if
anyone's fancied writing gamebooks now is your chance.

Also, the accessible text version of the Torchlight tabletop randomly
generating dungeon style gamebook is going into beta testing now, so will be
out as soon as those rather idiotic beta testers (aka muggins), have finished
looking at it and made any recommendations or cryticisms.

In the mean time, everything about the chronicles including some exceptional
gamebook fiction, details for the windhammer prize, last years windhammer prize
winning gamebooks and some incredibly well written background on the world and
history of Arborell may be found at http://www.arborell.com/

Beware the Grue!

Dark.

2009-06-15 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Lukáš,

I'm sorry, but I will not be modifying the Trucker game. I did not write the
original trucker game. I just found the source code and added sounds to it.
And then later converted it from the dos text game that it was, to a windows
text to speech game. But I have never modified the code or play of the game.

I also did the same with the golf game, but have added some features to it.

All of the rest of my games, I did write totally from scratch.

[Audyssey] Calling all truckers.

2009-06-15 Thread The Kolesar Brothers
Hi to one and all, from Ron and Leader Dog Boz. Jim Kitchen's truck driving
game is the collest game around that has sound effects written into it.
But if you're looking for a great online game to play? Look no further.
The web page address to go out to to sign up at is
www.trukz.com
No I didn't misspell the word truck.
The web page is from over seas. Right now I can't remember the country. But
truck is spelled with a Z and once again it is spelled T R U K Z.
Just like any role playing game. Each decision you make has good points and
bad points. You can drive for a company or you can drive as a indepent
driver.
I recomment driving for a company and the company I recommend driving for is
the Big Mountain Express. For all U.S drivers that test drive this truck.
I have some TXT files that no U.S. driver shhould be without.
Matter of fact I found the info for this cool online game from this list.
So there's my two cents for this morning.

Hi,

the company I recommend is MTA trucks. Always willing to help out, they have
great contracts and will tell you where to go if you ask. You can bet if
they tell you to go somewhere you make good money - and there advice is
priceless - I learned a million things about driving a truck in general from
them, some of them drive a truck for a living and I thought that was really
neat.

for a train sim there is spoor sim, but I wish someone had version 2
of it it's a bit better. there is also BVE, that doesn't give you any
feedback which is sad since except that the game is nicely
accessible.. if he wold add some key to read the spedometer, the
reading of onscreen alerts and some beep for when you're aproaching a
station you could well play the game since it's keyboard driven and
all the non game related stuff like the settings dialog is screen
reader readbale.

Hi Lukáš,

I'm sorry, but I will not be modifying the Trucker game. I did not write
the original trucker game. I just found the source code and added sounds to
it. And then later converted it from the dos text game that it was, to a
windows text to speech game. But I have never modified the code or play of
the game.

I also did the same with the golf game, but have added some features to it.

All of the rest of my games, I did write totally from scratch.

BFN

I am now playing with a full deck.

Re: [Audyssey] Calling all truckers.

2009-06-15 Thread Constantine

Hi,

Basically, the objective is to drive a truck (text based). You have fetigue
points as you drive and if it gets to ten, that means to pull off the road
for the night. Each hour one point is deducted so you can be back on the
road by morning. The game time is in realtime, so it will take eight real
hours to get your points to 0 if you had nine.

You also have what's called driver rating. This rating system will let you
buy more things the higher your rating is - a double trailer indorcement,
fuel filter, etc etc, so you can make more money.

You, of course, make money. Grins.

When you start out, you'll need to buy a truck. Pick whichever one looks the
cleanest - I think it was the 1978 ford.

Hi,

Basically, the objective is to drive a truck (text based). You have
fetigue
points as you drive and if it gets to ten, that means to pull off the
road
for the night. Each hour one point is deducted so you can be back on the

road by morning. The game time is in realtime, so it will take eight
real
hours to get your points to 0 if you had nine.

You also have what's called driver rating. This rating system will let
you
buy more things the higher your rating is - a double trailer
indorcement,
fuel filter, etc etc, so you can make more money.

You, of course, make money. Grins.

When you start out, you'll need to buy a truck. Pick whichever one looks
the
cleanest - I think it was the 1978 ford.

It is a truck driving simulator.
The objective is to earn money and to have as least break downs and

It is a pretty cool game and is played via the keyboard.
For JAWS users you will need your navigational keys turned on.
You will be doing a bit of page up and or down and up arrowing and

Re: [Audyssey] Lockpick

2009-06-15 Thread Damien C. Sadler

Hi,
If you go through your numbers, if you hear the correct tone, leave that
wheel. Switch to the next wheel and go to any numbers that the other wheel
has told you.

Example:
The number is 7 5 3.
You're on your left dial, bearing in mind they are all on one.
You cycle through your numbers. You get to 3, and you find that that is one
of the numbers by a double beep.

You get to five, that is also used.
At 6 you still haven't found the correct number for that dial. Therefore you
scroll to 7 and leave it, since you know that'll be the number.
You switch to your middle dial, and scroll that to 3. You find it gives you
a double beep. You then scroll to five, switch dials, scroll to three and
press enter, without bothering to check, since that will waste you precious
time.

HTH.
Regards,
Damien.

Greetings gamers,

Our new automated ordering system will be going live in the next couple
of days, and with this new system come some changes, some of which are
very important, so please read this entire message.

1. Future titles will require online activation. You will be able to
activate and deactivate your games, but you will be limited to only a
certain number of concurrent installations. This will effect only future

titles.

2. Between now and midnight PDT on 16/June/2009, we will fill any
requests for replacement registration keys at the usual cost of the
replacement. (This is typically 25% of the original cost of the game,
with a minimum of $5, per key.) Requests should be sent to
sa...@draconisentertainment.com
After that time, Draconis will no longer be offering replacement
registration keys under any circumstances. If you need a replacement, you

need to get it now.

We regret the need to make these changes, but piracy and the sharing of
keys has, sadly, become an epidemic.

We look forward to providing you with some new games soon for Mac,
Windows, and maybe another platform as well...and I don't mean Linux.
*wink*

Yes you can. You bid on contracts and such, and you can assign various
people as different things such as contract manager, vice president, and
also give them certain wages. Your company can also pay for any fuel and
repair costs done to a truck, these are all your choices.
