Re: [Audyssey] Favorite computer game?

2008-10-25 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Jim,
Yeah, I have to say I am pretty interested in my new version of
Mysteries of the Ancients. The main reason is that it is the first time
I really sat down and got to write an original game story from front to
back by myself, and it involves a topic I like which is Greek mythology.
My main character, Dr. Angela Carter, is a daring treasure hunter
looking for a lost artifact, and last night I just figured out what that
artifact should be. It is a completely original magical artifact which
should make it all the more interesting to the game players. All I can
say is that the artifact was created by the goddess Athena, and hidden
away until the time mankind was wise enough to use the item she left behind.
Anyway, the entire aspect of this being completely my ideas, my
characters, my game feels good in a way the other games created didn't.
It is one thing to write a game based on an existing story like Star
Trek, Montezuma's Revenge, Star Wars, etc and quite another to invent or
create something brand new. So I imagine once MOTA is completed it will
be one of my favorite games for sure.

Oh no. You *can* group of course, and if you make a lot of friends,
sometimes grouping is just a fun way to get the XP, but you don't *have* to
group. I would be quite happy to show you some of the area's and even
figure out which areas might be more suitable, for your level, to do solo?
Just let me know if you would like a hand. Legend is really a lot more than
just grouping and running flat out, with people.
Hope to see you in there soon. I would love to know your Alts name though,
just so I can send you a tell if I am playing anyone else than Krista.
Hope to see you soon.

 Hi,
That is a good question. I'd have to say two of my favorite audio
games right now are Shades of Doom by GMA Games and Sarah by PCS
Games. As far as a style I am a big fan of full FPS type games. They
are much more realistic feeling, and more like the sighted games I use
to play before losing my vision.
I also like my own games like STFC because of the strategy elements
involved in playing. There are many ways a battle can be played out,
and if you very your decisions from game to game you never really get
the same game twice. Enemies will usually do a completely different
 attack strategy everytime.

My favorite computer game is usually the one that I am developing at the time.

Re: [Audyssey] Favorite computer game?

2008-10-23 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi,
That is a good question.

2008-10-23 Thread shaun everiss
entombed is an rpg developed by blind-games.com
Its current in early alpha, alpha 006 I think.
Its in private testing, at least I am told ot to distribute the game link to
anywhere so I assume it is still in private testing.
you have to do quests and things, it has a good combat system, supposed to have
magic, etc.
Its still got a load of bugs though.
And I think I have said to much.

2008-10-23 Thread David Standen

Hi Katie,

I go through different phases. A lot of my favourite games now are games I
used to enjoy playing as a kid, when we used to play Intelevision as a
family. We had a Packman game for this system, called Lock 'n' Chase, and
Packman Talks is very similar to this. Dynaman is also a great Packman game.
We also had Pinball when I was growing up, so naturally I play this a lot as
well. I also owned Simon, and will occasionally play this, even though I'm
not as good as I used to be lol I also love space-invader games, such as
Sonic Invaders, Alien Outback, both of the Troopanum titles, and Dark
Destroyer. My interest in this type of game was inspired by Aliens, which I
used to play on an old friend's Eureka years ago grin Super Deekout,
Hunter, Judgment Day, the Pipe games, Super Liam and the Beta version of
Danger City are also cool as well. However, if I want to play something
which will only last a few minutes, I tend to go for either Sonic Match,
Boppit Ultimate or Chopper Challenge.

Hi,
That is a good question. I'd have to say two of my favorite audio games
right now are Shades of Doom by GMA Games and Sarah by PCS Games. As far as
a style I am a big fan of full FPS type games. They are much more realistic
feeling, and more like the sighted games I use to play before losing my
vision.
I also like my own games like STFC because of the strategy elements involved
in playing. There are many ways a battle can be played out, and if you very
your decisions from game to game you never really get the same game twice.
Enemies will usually do a completely different attack strategy everytime.

I also like my own games like STFC because of the strategy elements
involved in playing. There are many ways a battle can be played out,
and if you very your decisions from game to game you never really get
the same game twice. Enemies will usually do a completely different
attack strategy everytime.

They are. But they are not sold in stores anymore.
I refuse to buy a used console in case something happens to it.

Because the ps3's do not have backwards compatibility for ps2 games
 anymore.
Plus they're too expensive. And I'm not getting the x box for baseball
 and
other sports games. I'm getting it for the large amoun tof arcade games
 like
 street fighter and mortal kombat.

well after you get the xbox 360 you should download

and put it on a cd, unzip first though i think.
not sure what you do but this will allow you to play some xbox games.

However, I've heard the nhl 2k games are bearable. Mlb 2k is a joke for

However, I've been spending a ton more time with consoles as of late. So
righ tnow I'm really in to nhl 08 for the ps2. I love hockey, so it works

 Hi,
That is a good question.

Re: [Audyssey] Favorite computer game?

2008-10-23 Thread Jason Allen
Thanks for the Entombed plug! Haha. Yes, it has loads of bugs because it's
in testing. Last week when I released the latest test build I had
accidentally set it so everything that dies turns into a zombie. Because the
game simulates a century of history before the player enters, many monsters
die of old age. And because of that, my entire game was zombies. Hundreds of
zombies.

The game will mature when I stop adding new features. Every new feature
hides a bug or two that I need to iron out. There'll be a lot of bug testing
before the game is ready for a wide distribution, so no worries there.

Oh no. You *can* group of course, and if you make a lot of friends,
sometimes grouping is just a fun way to get the XP, but you don't *have* to

figure out which areas might be more suitable, for your level, to do solo?
Just let me know if you would like a hand. Legend is really a lot more than
just grouping and running flat out, with people.

Re: [Audyssey] Favorite computer game?

2008-10-22 Thread Charles Rivard
It depends on my mood. A good game of chess is always good when I have the
time. If I want to blow up stuff, it's Aliens in the Outback. Lone Wolf
and GMA Tank Commander are good action games, as are the pinball games from
Draconis Entertainment. Or I can explore Hogwarts as any fan of the Harry
Potter series would like to do with Sarah and the Castle of Witchcraft and
Wizardry. Word games? I like Chain Reaction and Search Party. If I want a
number puzzle, I'll play some Soundoku or a game of blank block. And for
side scrolling, I've got the betas from Thomas Ward or Liam's Super Liam.
Then again, I am a bowler, so a trip to Tenpin Alley is fun. Jim Kitchen's
collection of games are good when I don't want to spend a whole bunch of
time. They're fun little games, too.

Re: [Audyssey] Favorite computer game?

2008-10-22 Thread shaun everiss
hmm.
audio first person shooters are my favourite of choice but stratogy games are
also a favourite choice of mine.
I also like sport games, my favourite would be racing a track, nothing like it,
and ofcause golf .
In the board games catogry the game of life is quite good, and in simulaters
puppy 1 is quite good, also trucker.
If I could still use the older stuff interactive fiction I would still play
although I really havn't played those for ages if I had to have a favourite
one though cosmoserve would be my best also delusions.
anything that makes me think mainly is what I like, I don't care for some of
the card games or some of the arcade stuff although I do play these just for
fun.
I don't mind side scrolers but would play 3d games any day.
I also hate games with time limits on them.
I don't really have a favourite game, it depends on my mood.

Hi all,
I was just wondering what your favorite computer game was, or your favorite
type of game. I love audio games more than I do text based ones, don't really
have a favorite. I love games from l works, pcs games, kitchens inc, like them
all!
