Jim, it was a bug in an early version of 7.19. I code a bypass and upload this to cbttape.org. So any newer download will not seen the S0C4. The next version will provide a permanent fix. SHOWzOS 7.19
Hi guys, Sam just updated the source for SHOWZOS 7.19 on File 492 on the Updates page (http://cbttape.org/updates.htm), and he added 2 load module libraries called SHO9719L and SHOA719L on File 614, which contains load module libraries. SHO9719L was assembled on a z/OS 1.9 system, and SHOA719L was assembled on a z/OS 1.10 system. Currently I just verify the source in file #492 but will also check the load modules in file #614. Please note I'll held a presentation about SHOWzOS and CobAnal at share confer in Denver. www.share.org It's a part of the Freeware tools presentation starting a couple of months ago. I hope to see you there and discuss some issues. SHOWzOS beta for REUSASID and big LX
Hi folks, perhaps some of you're running with REUSASID=YES and of course with big LX (available since z/OS R6). In the last weeks I'm working on this and I have a beta ready to cover such an environment. Only the REUSASID=YES might cause abends while the big LX is just a garbage or missing display only. If you need this please contact me offline. Please post the abends you're seeing while REUSASID=YES is active. SHOWzOS 716 for z/OS R9
Hi folks, sorry I'm still waiting for closure of OA22594. However I decide to release this version regardless of this APAR. Please contact IBM for a temp fix it's available and works fine. Don't know why this takes so long. It's still open as of today. Please don't try 7.15 as it fails because an OCO cblock has been changed. Of course SHOWzOS recover from this abend and will just miss some reports only. The latest version 7.16 can be downloaded from http://www.cbttape.org/updates.htm File#492. Please note as of an IHALL* OCO cblock change assembled on R9 and run on R9 will fails. You have to assemble on R9 again. I'll see what I can do to code a bypass. One issue after I release the code for z/OS R9 Please change GVTQRQACONSTRAINED to BIT2 otherwise the assembly will fail and please don't forget OS22594. However in case of problem feel free to contact me and please don't email dumps unless I ask for it. Just the PSW+REGS+OS-Version is fine at the first time. SHOWZOS
I have been using SHOWZOS 714 to try and sort out exactly what happens to LE options under different circumstances. SHOWZOS has been very useful, but it does not always seem to interpret the settings completelyl leading me to ask whether the LE interpretation part is still WIP or whether is is deemed to be finished. What I have noticed so far is a setting of STORAGE(00,NONE,00,8192) is displayed by SHOWZOS 714 as STORAGE(NONE,NONE,NONE,8192). If I set it to STORAGE(01,NONE,09,8192) for example, it does get displayed by as STORAGE(01,NONE,09,8192) leading to the conclusion that SHOWZOS is interpreting a value of 00 as NONE. This does have ramifications as the IBM recommendation is to use NONE and it is therefore not currently possible to use SHOWZOS to check whether 00 or NONE is being set. SHOWzOS V714 released
Hi folks, I just released version 7.14 (XMAS release) and email the stuff to Sam Golob for the cbttape update. AFAIK he will make it available asap. This version contains full support for z/OS R8 (in fact I had code ready in september but wait for other enhancements). A few people with z/OS R8 already runs some of the beta code. Starting with this version you can create the SHOWzOS output as a PDF document directly on the z/OS. Just run SHOWzOS and convert the output using the PDF tools from Martin Truebner. For more info just look at member X2PJCL and then ftp the data to your PC and open the file with your Acrobat reader. Of course this is just a demo of his tool and limited. It's a neat way to provide a printed document about your z/OS systems. Don't ask me how but it's very fast. What's new in this version: *$714RS0806 * Implement enhancements contributed by John Hamlet JH0806 * Unicode display on z/OS R8 (Eyecatcher IR8) JH0806 * ABENDS0C7 in V64USE00 for shared memory objects JH0806 * Clear IRARQSRV area before SVC 95 (SYSEVENT) JH1106 * Implement enhancements contributed by Roland Schiradin RS1006 * ASID 999 behaviour RS1106 * Verify valid CAUB pointerRS1106 * New DIAG204 subtype 5/6/7 didn't work for Hercules RS1106 * It just return the old DIAG204 data and this cause RS1106 * abend S878 because the code expect a length instead RS1106 * of an address ÜÜ SHOWzOS recover from this abendRS1106 * and I haven't found any solution to avoid this abend.RS1106 * However I informed the Hercules newsgroup about this RS1106 * and offer a helping hand to provide such support RS1106 * Display IOS EKM Status (OA17593) z/OS R8 RS1106 * New value for RAXLVMEMLIMS (OA14391) Norbert Friemel RS1106 * If you run different DB2 at the same image make sure RS1106 * SHOWzOS runs with the highest level of SDSNLOAD andRS1106 * SDSNEXIT. SHOWzOS and zIIP/zAAP
Hi, in SHOWzOS V714 (still beta) I add a lot of coding (like new DIAG 204 type 6 for z800/z890 and type 7 for z900/z990) to support zIIP. If anybody runs a zAAP feel free to contact me offline as I would like to share the SHOWzOS 714 source code and perhaps a small testdriver. SHOWzOS V713 and zOS R6 (FMID JBB77S9 for zIIP)
Hi folks, SHOWzOS V713 and all older will not assemble clean on z/OS R6 with FMID JBB77S9) installed. Indeed SHOWzOS believe z/OS R7 ist installed and this will cause the problem. I have a fix ready but not yet published via www,cbttape.org. It's on my list for the next week. If someone have an urgent need I can give some source code modification to solve this issue. Drop me an email. SHOWzOS V714 is currently in development and will provide support for z/OS R8 which will be GA end of september. Version 713 was build to tolerate z/OS R8 but will not work in all cases. Bad news for SHOWzOS V713 only. So in case of please contact me at mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] and I'll provide the fix. I'll also make it available via CBTTAPE.ORG but currently working on the z/OS R8 support and not sure which part I should merge or provide in version 714. As of today SHOWzOS V711 has been released. Please check the www.cbttape.org in the next few weeks. I got a lot of input for version 712 and I start working on it. To my surprise other people joined this team and I merged their coding. Everybody is welcome I'll also join the share confer in Boston this time as a speaker for CICS TS V3. You're welcome but keep in mind I'll switch to german if somebody complain about my english:-) Mit freundlichen Grüßen Kind regards i. A. Roland Schiradin Alte Leipziger Lebensversicherung a.G.
