Hi Dan, sorry for delay.

the problem was a wrong branch (jump) after assembled under z/OS r10

Another issue was CVTMAXMP. The value starts with zero instead of 1.

I fixed all of these problem and will email a new archive to Sam today.

SHOWzOS 7.19

2009-07-21 Thread Roland Schiradin
Hi guys,

Sam just updated the source for SHOWZOS 7.19 on File 492 on the Updates
page (http://cbttape.org/updates.htm), and he added 2 load module libraries
called SHO9719L and SHOA719L on File 614, which contains load module
libraries. SHO9719L was assembled on a z/OS 1.9 system, and SHOA719L was
assembled on a z/OS 1.10 system.

Currently I just verify the source in file #492 but will also check the load
modules in file #614.

Please note I'll held a presentation about SHOWzOS and CobAnal at share
confer in Denver. www.share.org
It's a part of the Freeware tools presentation starting a couple of months
ago.

I hope to see you there and discuss some issues.

FYI

after the apply of OA18766 the assembly will fail on z/OS R8 and R7

** ASMA057E Undefined operation code - IOSDI/by
** ASMA435I Record 141 in SYS1.MACLIB(IOSDIOFC)

because of a missing concatination in column 72.

It works on z/OS R9 and R10 because the macro is not delivered and the

If I'm not mistaken, SHORT_PUTLINE is the default mode when SHOWzOS runs in
TSO/E without ISPF. In this mode, SHOWMVS clears the screen and only
produces the first two displays (System Level and IPL).

SHOWzOS beta for REUSASID and big LX

2009-04-06 Thread Roland Schiradin
Hi folks,

perhaps some of you're running with REUSASID=YES and of course with big LX
(available since z/OS R6). In the last weeks I'm working on this and I have a
beta ready to cover such an environment. Only the REUSASID=YES might
cause abends while the big LX is just a garbage or missing display only.

If you need this please contact me offline. Please post the abends you're
seeing while REUSASID=YES is active.

Thanks at all

Run-time Environments from SHOWZOS

2008-11-20 Thread John Norgauer
When I run SHOWZOS on Z/os 1.9 I see the following for sas/c: n/a

On my old z/OS 1.7 system, I see the following for sas/c: SAS/C -LNKLST-
 ISP.SISPSASC

I have no dataset for ISP.SISPSASC on my z/OS 1.9 system.

Is this correct?

Thanks

The 0C6 is due to branching to an odd address. Looking at the Data at
PSW, it looks like a branch into a data area, just after a character
constant that ends in ES).

What changes, if any, have you made in the code? This sort of problem is
often caused by invalidly altering a base register, or a local
subroutine's return address.

Hopefully, any changes you've made are well flagged, so you can find and
check them again. Good luck. :-)

I just downloaded the current version from the CBT updates page and
other than having to using ISPF to CHANGE 'GVTQRQACONSTRAINED' 'BIT2'
it worked fine with no abends. However, your maintenance level of z/OS 1.9
could be different than the one I tested on.

Assembly failed without the change. But I don't know if a higher maintenance
level removes that requirement (Roland posted the requirement in the
archives last November). There is also a RRS macro that has to be updated

I would guess that you had an assembly error in the first program

SHOWzOS 716 for z/OS R9

2007-11-13 Thread Roland Schiradin
Hi folks,

sorry I'm still waiting for closure of OA22594. However I decide to release
this version regardless of this APAR.
Please contact IBM for a temp fix it's available and works fine. Don't know
why this takes so long. It's still open
as of today.

Please don't try 7.15 as it fails because an OCO cblock has been changed. Of
course SHOWzOS
recover from this abend and will just miss some reports only.

The latest version 7.16 can be downloaded from
http://www.cbttape.org/updates.htm
File#492.

Please note as of an IHALL* OCO cblock change assembled on R9 and run on R9
will fails. You have
to assemble on R9 again. I'll see what I can do to code a bypass.

One issue after I release the code for z/OS R9

Please change GVTQRQACONSTRAINED to BIT2 otherwise the assembly will fail
and please don't forget OS22594.

However in case of problem feel free to contact me and please don't email
dumps unless I ask for it.
Just the PSW+REGS+OS-Version is fine at the first time.

Regards
Roland

SHOWzOS for R9 still waiting for OA22594

2007-11-03 Thread Schiradin,Roland HG-Dir itb-db/dc
Hi folks,

sorry I'm still waiting for closure of OA22594 before I'll release SHOWzOS 7.16
to support z/OS R9.
Please don't try 7.15 as it fails because an OCO cblock has been changed. Of
course SHOWzOS
recover from this abend and will just miss some reports only.

So far a tempfix is available so I wonder why IBM took so much time to build a
PTF for this APAR.
However it's out of my hands.

SHOWzOS and z/OS R9

2007-09-22 Thread Roland Schiradin
Hi,

I will release SHOWzOS 7.16 for z/OS R9 after APAR OA22594 will be closed.

Hopefully I'll fix the problems I have with my own CEEOCB because z/OS R9

deliver a CEEOCB in the SCEEMAC.

Regards Roland

Thank you.
In the meantime could you please advise how CEEOCB flags the difference
between a value of NONE and an actual value - I presume that it is in
flags rather than in the actual data?

SHOWZOS

2007-04-22 Thread Anthony Fletcher
I have been using SHOWZOS 714 to try and sort out exactly what happens to LE
options under different circumstances. SHOWZOS has been very useful, but it
does not always seem to interpret the settings completelyl leading me to ask
whether the LE interpretation part is still WIP or whether is is deemed to
be finished.

What I have noticed so far is a setting of
STORAGE(00,NONE,00,8192)
is displayed by SHOWZOS 714 as
STORAGE(NONE,NONE,NONE,8192).
If I set it to
STORAGE(01,NONE,09,8192) for example, it does get displayed by as
STORAGE(01,NONE,09,8192)
leading to the conclusion that SHOWZOS is interpreting a value of 00 as
NONE. This does have ramifications as the IBM recommendation is to use NONE
and it is therefore not currently possible to use SHOWZOS to check whether
00 or NONE is being set.
I also set TERMTHDACT(MSG,CESE,96) but it displays as TERMTHDACT(MSG,,96)

SHOWzOS Version 714 fix (Warning)

2007-02-22 Thread Schiradin,Roland HG-Dir itb-db/dc
Hi folks,

please apply the following source code changes:

If assembly runs on z/OS R7 with zIIP support (Version or 01.07.01)
or z/OS R8 (zIIP support in the base) and execution starts on an earlier OS it
will overlay the PSA+800 while invoking the CNZQUERY on a OS which doesn't
support
this function. Well of course I just analyze a single SADUMP with combination
assembly on R8
and running on R6. I didn't try every combination. So please apply the change
asap.

SHOWzOS V714 released

2006-12-02 Thread Schiradin,Roland HG-Dir itb-db/dc
Hi folks,

I just released version 7.14 (XMAS release) and email the stuff to Sam Golob
for the cbttape update.
AFAIK he will make it available asap.

This version contains full support for z/OS R8 (in fact I had code ready in
september but
wait for other enhancements). A few people with z/OS R8 already runs some of
the beta code.

Starting with this version you can create the SHOWzOS output as a PDF document
directly
on the z/OS. Just run SHOWzOS and convert the output using the PDF tools from
Martin Truebner.
For more info just look at member X2PJCL and then ftp the data to your PC and
open the file with
your Acrobat reader. Of course this is just a demo of his tool and limited.
It's a neat way to provide
a printed document about your z/OS systems. Don't ask me how but it's very
fast.

What's new in this version:

SHOWzOS and zIIP/zAAP

2006-11-02 Thread Schiradin,Roland HG-Dir itb-db/dc
Hi,

in SHOWzOS V714 (still beta) I add a lot of coding (like new DIAG 204 type 6
for z800/z890 and type 7 for z900/z990)
to support zIIP.

If anybody runs a zAAP feel free to contact me offline as I would like to share
the SHOWzOS 714 source code and perhaps
a small testdriver.

Regards

SHOWzOS V713 and zOS R6 (FMID JBB77S9 for zIIP)

2006-09-02 Thread Roland Schiradin
Hi folks,

SHOWzOS V713 and all older will not assemble clean on z/OS R6 with FMID JBB77S9)
installed.
Indeed SHOWzOS believe z/OS R7 ist installed and this will cause the problem.

I have a fix ready but not yet published via www,cbttape.org. It's on my list
for the next week.
If someone have an urgent need I can give some source code modification to solve
this issue.
Drop me an email.

SHOWzOS V714 is currently in development and will provide support for z/OS R8
which will
be GA end of september. Version 713 was build to tolerate z/OS R8 but will not
work in all cases.

Roland

SHOWzOS on z/OS R6 with zIIP FMID

2006-08-31 Thread Schiradin,Roland HG-Dir itb-db/dc
I guess a lot of people followed the thread about SHOWzOS (several version)
running on z/OS R6 with the zIIP support will fail.

Good news just the assembly fail.
Good news I have a fix.
Bad news for SHOWzOS V713 only.

So in case of please contact me at mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
and I'll provide the fix.

I'll also make it available via CBTTAPE.ORG but currently working on the z/OS
R8
support and not sure which part I should merge or provide in version 714.

This is only a problem if you running z/OS R6 with the zIIP FMID

It will run on z/OS R8.

All known problems solved. I'm working on the

2. a 64-but (partial) STRING macro

among other stuff I already done.

Hopefuly end of May you will see a new version tolerate z/OS R8.

just enable some debugging code and confirm my coding after sending the
debugging data.

Thanx a lot

Kind regards

SHOWzOS 711 (FILE#492)

2005-06-09 Thread Schiradin,Roland HG-Dir itb-db/dc
As of today SHOWzOS V711 has been released. Please check the www.cbttape.org in
the next few weeks.
I got a lot of input for version 712 and I start working on it.

To my surprise other people joined this team and I merged their coding.
Everybody is welcome

I'll also join the share confer in Boston this time as a speaker for CICS TS
V3. You're welcome
but keep in mind I'll switch to german if somebody complain about my english:-)
