This morning I was able to log in. I did not try yesterday - despite having
ticked off 2factor authentication, I still get the stupid emails for
confirmation. On and off, not every time I log in.

I agree and I've used the ftp route before, my issue is my company will
not allow ftp period, and using HTTPS from Z needs to be authenticated
to the firewall so 2 things for me, I have to get authority to tunnel
thru the firewall to get to IBM, then in the section I need to
specify my firewall server I/P and my LAN ID and password.

ftp, so much easier as you've pointed out

that's correct, I schedule weekly a job that receives hold data directly

ShopZ software report not working?

2022-10-06 Thread Dave Jousma
Ive noticed for some time now that my uploaded software report no longer seems
to have any effect when I create an order for CBPDO products that have new
version/release. I typically upload a fresh report (binary), then create a
CBPDO order and typically filter by "my installed products with upgrades". So
that I can see which products have installed I need to order to refresh my
installation.

This is a problem, because manually looking for updates is error prone, and
quite time consuming. Has anyone else noticed this?I have opened a PMR
with ShopZ support. Its been that way for quite awhile for me, not something
that just occurred.

Re: Shopz - Consolidated inventory of products report - load error

2022-07-08 Thread Brian Westerman
This has happened to me several times because I typically do the ordering at
night. Apparently, sometimes when you try to add a csreport during off (for
IBM) hours, one of the servers that IBM uses to parse the report isn't there,
and you just have to wait a little for it to come back online. Normally it's
always up from 7am to 9pm Eastern time.

I just tried it and it's working right now.

Shopz - Consolidated inventory of products report - load error

2022-07-08 Thread Dazzo, Matt
Hey Gm folks, anybody having issues with creating an order for rsu maintenance
on shopz? I am trying to create a new maintenance order and upload the
consolidated inventory report in step 2 of 5 but I keep getting the error
below. First attempt was yesterday but it's still not working today. By the
way this worked for me 2 weeks ago, has anything changed I'm not aware of?

  1. I create the report using PGM=GIMXSID,PARM='INVENTORY=IBM,L=ENU'
  2. SMPXTOUT DD DCB=(RECFM=FB,LRECL=12560),
  3. Upload to workstation in bin format
  4. Try to upload to shopz (step 2 of 5) during order creation and get the
error below.
  5. Tried on multiple web browsers (chrome and Edge)

ERROR: SZGP01: An error occurred while loading software report. Please try to
upload it again.

Thanks,

CustomPac (ISPF) ServerPac removal from Shopz is only 10 days away!

2022-07-01 Thread Marna WALLE
Please notice, there are only 10 days left in which to order a CustomPac (ISPF)
ServerPac for z/OS *and* all subsystems/program products. After July 10, 2022,
the CustomPac (ISPF) ServerPac installation method will be removed from Shopz,
leaving only the z/OSMF ServerPac installation method. If you are in need of
a CustomPac ServerPac, now is the time to place your order if you haven’t
already.

We’ve seen a lot of traffic to the education website where you can learn about
how to install a z/OSMF ServerPac, with a sample z/OSMF package to help you
learn how to do the install on a small throwaway package:
https://www.ibm.com/support/z-content-solutions/serverpac-install-zosmf/
Notice that we have full capability for merging data sets now in the z/OSMF
ServerPac, including zFS data sets.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions and some confusion about what is happening
with CBPDO. The answer is nothing. CBPDO remains as it is, and will be
orderable and available after July 10, 2022.If you’ve always loved CBPDO
and wish to continue to use CBPDO, it is still there. However, I do wish folks
would try out the z/OSMF ServerPac (aka portable software instance) as it
really does have some benefits that the CustomPac method did not have.

Perhaps not, against the eventuality that the SUPerseding SYSMOD
go HOLD ERROR and the SUPerseded SYSMOD remain valuable.

Similarly, I argued, successfully, that our process should allow the
SYSMOD that resolves a PE HOLD to PREreq, not only SUPersede
the PE PTF for the case where the earlier PDF contained numerous
elements and the PE could be corrected by replacing only one of them.

1. Product prerequisites. You can try to order the tool - you will see
whether there are any prereqs which must be ordered with the product.
Some are bypassable, and some are not.
2. SMP/E environment. You want to APPLY the product which is already
applied according to CSI "knowledge". You may think it was applied, but
someone accidentally deleted content o the libraries. In such case it is
possible to enforce APPLY.

See APPLY REDO. Read the notes.
3. Do a backup before you start.

The referred page is not version or release specific, and is applicable to all
of IBM z/OS platform software, not just the OS. As mentioned on that page,
currently "CICS, IMS, and Db2 are now available to be delivered as a ServerPac

Marna,

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I was of the opinion that I was
obviously doing something wrong as I only saw 5.5 as an upgrade path. I worked
with a support engineer after opening a SR (SEV3) on the issue and based on the
error I am seeing, it may be a combination of my authority level *and* an
entitlement issue.

Curiously though, what is the difference on Shopz that enables me to order via
a z/OSMF-packaged ServerPac versus the original ServerPac dialog radio button?
I do not see the z/OSMF version as a choice. It that now the default?

Is CICS TS 5.6 orderable through ShopzSeries as a ServerPac order?

I attempted to use an inventory report and only 5.5 was listed as an update

When I attempted without a report, I could see 5.6 but was told I was not

IBM's, and my personal recommendation, is to apply SOURCEID(RSU*).
Order ALL, as there is no harm in having a PTF in your hands, but APPLY
SOURCEID(RSU*). PTFs which have not yet been assigned an RSU* sourceid
are not yet recommended by IBM. The time line in which a PTF gets
recommended depends on a number of factors which you identified, but
even the low severity PTFs will eventually be recommended, after it goes
through IBM's Consolidated Service Test cycle. It is usually ~90 days,
but depending on schedules it can take up to ~180 days for a given PTF.

Re: shopz UJ01255

2020-09-30 Thread Brian Westerman
it was superseded by UJ02346 in PUT2003 which was contained in RSU2006. so I
would imagine that if it was already supped just 2 months later that getting it
now would probably not be a productive use of your time.

While you can install by PUT, I would not. I think it's far better to stick
with RSU's. Less work (for me) and less problems.

Unless you actually really and truly need one (or more) of the non-RSU (yet)
fixes, I would not order them them, or at least not install them. There is too
much chance of (eventual) error before the RSU testing is complete.

Its entirely possible the PTF you are interested in, never made it to

2020-09-25 Thread R.S.
This is not state of the art solution, but... You can prepare another
order and explicitly request all the missing PTFs in this order. Finally
you will have two (three..) orders which you can RECEIVE into CSI.
While it is convenient to have all needed PTF within single order it is
not required.

BTW: Things may become more complicated for older PTFs, but this is
definitely NOT the case.

I went through a similar discussion last year (? this year? Time flies..), and
I now do RECEIVE ALL - just means you have all available fixes, whether you
then go on to APPLY them of course, is entirely up to you, but I found it was
better to have them than now. It's also worth noting that RECEIVE ORDER will
bring in updated SOURCEIDs, so if you already have the fix, and it did
subsequently make into an RSU, it will then get that sourceid applied to it.

It was Firefox. Strange thing was that I could get around ResourceLink and
other IBM sites, but ShopZ gave me a blank screen - even with starting another
instance of FF. After I shut FF down and restarted it (no reboot required) I
was able to get right in.

Okay, I'm going to moan a bit.

Just logged on to Shopz, and I see a message:

Issue on z/OS, z/VM, z/VSE service orders using an installed report is FIXED.
You could proceed on this kind of order. For the existing orders impacted by
the issue, we are trying to recover them soon. Please re-check your order in
next 24 hours to expect download status.

Fine. I get the fact that English isn't everyone's first language (and I have
my moments), but if you're going to run a website in English, and publish
information in English, at least get someone to proofread it!

I tried to leave feedback on the site, but that's limited on the number of
characters you can enter, so I couldn't even paste the message in full and
explain why I was giving feedback..!

Moan over. I feel much better now.

Shopz message

2020-04-16 Thread Styles, Andy (ITS zPlatform Services)
Classification: Public

Obtaining the user certificate from Shopz is a one time event... well,
once a year.  Once you have a certificate, you don't need to interact
with Shopz again to order and download PTFs using SMP/E.

To our Valued IBM Clients:

IBM will be engaged in a system migration beginning on August 16, 2019 which
will impact the ability for you to place a Shopz Product Order up to and
including August 22, 2019. (Service Orders will NOT be impacted.)

In the event of an emergency during this time, please contact your IBM Sales
Representative for assistance. Thank you.

The affected countries are as follows:
USA, US
Canada, CA
Puerto Rico, US
Guam, GU
Virgin Island, VI

We recommend leaving enough lead time by submitting orders for processing
before August 15, so they will have time to complete.

The change is generally transparent to you. After the migration is complete,
your access and order history won't be affected.

Customer Number IMPACT after migration: There will be a change to your customer
number after the migration. The new customer number will be 9 digits prefaced
by a "S", for example, 'S012345678'. You can find the old and new customer
number mapping relationship under "My preferences" page after you log into
Shopz successfully.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

We recommend leaving enough lead time by submitting orders for processing
before August 15, so they will have time to complete.

The change is generally transparent to you. After the migration is complete,
your access and order history won't be affected.

Customer Number IMPACT after migration: There will be a change to your customer

by a "S", for example, 'S012345678'. You can find the old and new customer
number mapping relationship under "My preferences" page after you log into

What is wrong with this picture?
Their Flagship is available 99.99% of the time.
Why can’t the support systems match the availability?

BTW, what if someone needs to obtain a PTF in that interval? What do they do
then?

You are receiving this email because you are a ShopZ registered user.

As the www SSO solution will be sunset at the end of 3Q 2018, the ShopZ sign-in
validation will be migrated to IBMid solution on Aug. 12th, 2018. After the
migration, the domain name
https://apac01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww-304.ibm.comdata=02%7C01%7Callan.staller%40HCL.COM%7C70d1d92a261345a3a9ee08d5febce139%7C189de737c93a4f5a8b686f4ca9941912%7C0%7C0%7C636695009581796714sdata=1BtlUfTo8GbzBxtB8beEDD%2FdCSnTixVPONMuSsQvrdw%3Dreserved=0
of ShopZ URLs will not be supported anymore.

If you are using ShopZ URLs with

as domain name, please make sure to replace it with
https://apac01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ibm.comdata=02%7C01%7Callan.staller%40HCL.COM%7C70d1d92a261345a3a9ee08d5febce139%7C189de737c93a4f5a8b686f4ca9941912%7C0%7C0%7C636695009581796714sdata=3llFzObps4jCrUHcKN8%2B1WuG98PraufY3VufvjHOEqw%3Dreserved=0.
Otherwise, you will not be able to login ShopZ. For example, if you
