[JAWS-Users] Is there JAWS for XP Professional and JAWS for XP Home or just 1 JAWS for all?
Hi, When you purchase JAWS from Freedom Scientific, is there a need for you to tell them if your Operating System is XP Professional or XP Home? My laptop is running XP Professional but my new Netbook is running XP Home. Can my JAWS be installed for the XP Home one? Re: [JAWS-Users] Is there JAWS for XP Professional and JAWS for XP Homeor just 1 JAWS for all?
Hi Siew, As far as I know, the pro version of Jaws would work with the home edition but not the other way around or at least, this was the case when I purchased Jaws. So, if your Jaws work with XP pro you'll be just fine with the home edition. And yes, you can install Jaws without sighted assistance, when you will insert the CD into the machine it would ask you if you wish to install with the help of voice prompts or something like that. Just choose yes or press enter to use voice prompts. Re: [JAWS-Users] question
Hi, The Stream will automatically recreate the folder when you put in the card but you'd would need some kind of file recovery software such as Recuba which is on the Jaws site (see the links at the end of any list message) in order to get the files back without just re-downloading from the Bard site. Re: [JAWS-Users] question
Recuba, That would be something you can use if you can put the card into a reader on the pc to recover the folder. But if you just want to recreate the folder and put more books in it, the Stream should do it but is obviously not behaving. If you have a card reader, put the card into it, find the card on your pc and open it as if were a drive. Then from the file menu, pick new, then folder and type in: $VRDTB Jon -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Kimsan Sent: Sunday, September 13, 2009 3:33 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] question Hi john, I took the ccard out once already and placed it back in but the folder isn't there. Siew Ling, The authorization is the key. If you have a authorization for JAWS professional it will run on both XP Professional and XP Home. It sounds like you do have the JAWS Professional authorization. [JAWS-Users] Is there JAWS for XP Professional and JAWS for XP Home or just 1 JAWS for all?
Hi, Thank you for all your help. I bought JAWS for my laptop running XP Professional. I'm so glad to know that I can use the CD to install JAWS for the new Netbook running XP Home. I thought if I could not install this JAWS on this Netbook, I would have to purchase another JAWS which is impossible because I wouldn't be able to afford it. *Heaves a sigh of relief* Ok, I'm going to install JAWS now and tweak my Netbook. Once again, I'm so grateful to those who have provided me with the solution to my problem. Re: [JAWS-Users] web layout view
This is adjusted in the View options in Word. Press the alt key and press the right arrow until you get to the View menu. Press the down arrow until you find the type of display you want--Normal, Web layout, Print layout, etc. Press enter once you find the option you want and you should be done. - Original Message - From: Kimsan ksong8...@msn.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Sunday, September 13, 2009 11:08 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] web layout view Hi, In the verbosity is there a way to have it set it to webview layout when entering word perminently or is this just done on the fly? Re: [JAWS-Users] web layout view
If you check either Normal or Print layout, the Web layout view shouldn't display. As far as I can tell, it is not a default setting for anything. Web layout view is meant to allow you to view how a document would look like in a web browser. By default, when you start Word, the Normal option will be checked. However, when reading large documents, the Print layout option is often checked. Visually, people are saying, that is the best option. So I am not sure if you want Print layout or Normal to be your default setting, but if Print layout is fine that is easy--just check it. I am not sure how to make Normal the default view option in Word. - Original Message - From: Kimsan ksong8...@msn.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Sunday, September 13, 2009 11:40 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] web layout view So there is no way to have that be permanent?
