[JAWS-Users] black down pointing triangle.

2013-06-22 Thread Pablo Morales
Hi all.
I have on a web site, something that says;

But if I press enter on this, because it is a link, it doesn't make anything. I
think that it opens a menu or something that jaws is not reading. How is
possible with jaws handle this kind of items on web sites?
Thanks in advance.

Menus is apparently how JAWS and IE see them, and they are a problem
then. If it were NVDA, you could press ctrl+spacebar on one of these,
and it would reveal extra information (somewhat like being on an

Re: [JAWS-Users] Transferring Emails From An XP Machine To A Windows 7 Machine

2013-06-22 Thread David Whitehead
hello Donnie;

here's some steps which I hope you can use.

How to export Outlook Express Inbox from Windows XP to Windows 7?

The first thing you need to do is export your Inbox from Windows XP to an
external drive or a shared folder so that you can access it from Windows 7.
To export the Inbox, open Outlook Express and select Tools and then
Options. Enter on the Maintenance tab and then on the Store Folder
location.
This will open a small dialog box that will show you the exact location
where your Inbox is stored. To copy the path, press Ctrl+a keys together
to select the entire path. Then press Ctrl+c keys together to copy the path
to clipboard. close the Outlook Express.

Next enter on the Start menu and select the Run command. Paste the entire
path that you copied earlier by pressing the Ctrl+v keys together and
then press Enter. The folder containing your Outlook Express Inbox will open
up in a new Explorer window.

Copy the entire Outlook Express folder and save it on an external drive or
shared folder.

The next step is to move the Inbox to a Windows 7 machine. Windows 7
doesn't come with a default mail client but you can download Windows Live
Mail for free from the Microsoft website.

After installing Windows Live Mail, run it and enter on File, Import
and then Messages. Follow the steps given in the Import Wizard. Just make
sure
that you select Microsoft Outlook Express 6 as the program and specify the
location where you saved your Inbox by clicking on the browse button. When
you have completed the Import process, your Outlook Express messages would
be displayed in the subfolders of Windows Live Mail.

David, it didn't work, and in fact, none of the fixes work. All of this is
my fault really, as I did have office 2007 on my computer, but somehow as my
computer said to me, or at least jaws did, smile, that the program was
corrupt. So I uninstalled it, thinking that I could reinstall it from my
disk, but the disk has left the building. I can't find it anywhere. I loved
the program, and I guess I'll have to buy it again, but if I'm going to do
that, I might as well go with office 2010, but I haven't learned to use the
ribbon method yet, so for right now, I'll limp along with office 2003, but
no matter what I try, the fixes that folks have been suggesting, just
haven't worked. frown. Jim

hello there;

well,
the keystroke,
alt+b to turn on or off the BCCField
does not work in outlook.

To display the Bcc box:

1. Open a new e-mail message.
2. On the View menu, enter on Bcc Field. If the Bcc Field command is not
displayed on the View menu, the Personalized Menus and Toolbars option is
enabled.
Double-click the View menu to display the full View menu.

Hi John,
I think that in a new message window, the shortcut alt + b shows/hides the
bcc edit box in many of microsofts email programs. Unfortunately I don't
have a copy of outlook to check this, but you could give it a try.

Oh no way would that ever be done legally!!! Microsoft decides such
things. And, with the increased sophistication of scamming and phishing
attempts, older versions of Internet Explorer are huge security risks.
Firefox has some drawbacks now but it is nearly as good as Internet

When the message is open, the link immediately above the message is more.
Clicking that link gives several options, including forward. Jaws says link
forward alt 3. I don't know if alt 3 will work, but clicking the link makes
the message forwardable. Hope that will woork for you.

Hi Mike,

Here's how I do it.

When the message is open, the link immediately above the message is more.
Clicking that link gives several options, including forward. Jaws says link
forward alt 3. I don't know if alt 3 will work, but clicking the link makes
the message forwardable. Hope that will woork for you.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Recording JAWS while it speaks, and other PC audio?

2013-06-22 Thread Dang Manh Cuong

Hi
If you are using GoldWave and windows 7, you can do the folowing steps to
record pc audio (sometimes called streaming)

1. Start GoldWave
2. Control properties (f11)
3. Ctrl+tab to record tab, and tab to the recording combo box
4. Choose loopback from the combo box
Note: If you connect multiple sound card to your pc, each one have a
loopback. You should check to make sure you choose the correct sound card
which you want to record from.
If you want to include your voice or something from microphone, then open
speacker from system tray, choose recording devices, choose the microphone
which you use to record, then tab to find properties button, and spacebar to
activate it.
Now Ctrl+tab to the listen tab, then check the box called listen to this
device. You will hear your voice through head phone, and you'll be able to
record using GoldWave

Hope that help
Cuong

Yes, I want to record my voice along with JAWS, but as importantly I
want to for instance, record the audio from youtube, record pages as
JAWS reads them aloud, and so on. I've tried using the SoundMax mixer
in Windows, but I can't seem to get it to work. Thanks.

Hi
Do you mean you want to record your voice and Jaws together, like the
podcast of some blind people?
If so, you can use the latest version of GoldWave with a nice feature
called

loopback.
Not sure what you mean, so I don't give any more info.
Cuong.

Hello list!

How does one record audio originating in the computer to a program like
Goldwave or Total Recorder? Thanks!
