[JAWS-Users] OWA and JAWS
Hi, Is it possible to navigate the OWA website in the standard version, not the light version? I need to recover deleted items, but the layout does not appear accessible with JAWS 14, whereas the light version does. To recover deleted items one needs to right click on the deleted items folder and press recover. JAWS will not tell me where recover deleted items is, nor will it give me that option, the usual context menu comes up, even with the JAWS cursor. Thanks. There were 2 different links. They boath say which one they are after the whole thing of JAWS 15 or in this case 14 and the build. As for the DVD, again, don't worry. It's supposed to insal the right one. Re: [JAWS-Users] closing the latest version of Skype
Thanks for the tip Jaws users. You asked about how to keep skype from running automatically at windows start up? I'm using skype v6 but earlier versions seemed to work in the same manner. Go to tools and arrow to options and enter on that. The first thing should be general if not arrow up or down until you find it. Tab through the options until you hear something about start skype when I logon to windows and uncheck this box if it is checked. Tab to save and your problem should go away. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Marks, Jim Sent: Saturday, November 02, 2013 10:23 AM To: 'jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com' Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] closing the latest version of Skype I close Skype in two ways. [JAWS-Users] ShortKeys v 3.4.0.1
Hi All, Is anyone using ShortKeys v 3.4.0.1 on a Windows7 64 bit system? I have been attempting to access this program for most of the afternoon using Jaws 13, 14 , & 15. I tried with the virtual ribbon option & without it but, I just haven't had any success! It seems like you need to use left & right mouse click simulation keystrokes but, these don't work most of the time either. When clicking a menu by routing the Jaws cursor to it most of the time nothing happens as well. So, if someone is having success with this program, would you please share your navigation secrets? All help will be greatly accepted & appreciated. Thank you very much. Take care. Mike This email was sent from my ILazyBoy. Hi there, often, you might have that happen if you have the 32 bit version of the software. I would suggest that you download the 64 bit software, it's most likely that you have a 64 bit machine. [JAWS-Users] monthly guidelines reminder
Hello and welcome to the JAWS Users list. This list has been created for The purpose of discussing all aspects of the JAWS for Windows screen reader Program. So everything that pertains to JAWS is fair game. Such as asking about what software packages work well with JAWS or how to make them work even better with scripts, keyboard short cuts and so forth. Another example could be requesting information on how to do something in Microsoft Word, which as we all know works very well with JAWS, but you need to know how to do a certain task or want to learn a way to accomplish it more efficiently. Now this is a very important point in my opinion, asking the list for exact instructions every time is not a good thing to do for a major reason. It creates a dependency situation even if you don't realize it does. The ideal place I am hoping the list will arrive at some day is that everybody no matter how new they might happen to be with JAWS or computers will have the confidence to try things on their own, and yet feel if they get stuck the list will be there to help put them back on track. Trust me when I say that help is quicker to arrive for somebody who is well known to ask for it last than first. So try it yourself first whatever it is. If you get stuck then let the list know what you've done to try and resolve your current dilemma. Then I'm sure help will arrive with in short order. Next a post asking if there is a software package that does a specific task and works well with JAWS is perfectly fine. The rules of conduct are quite simple and straightforward. Be polite and Patient with others. There will be absolutely no fighting, and no bashing of Freedom Scientific on here at all. If you have a problem with them then I suggest you take it up with Freedom Scientific directly. Please try to keep subject lines relevant and descriptive as possible. Also any newsletters except those that directly pertain to JAWS should not be posted to the list prior to receiving moderator approval. Attachments are removed before any message is sent to the list. This is done for your protection. The message list might state that there is an attachment but in fact Mailman does remove them. When contacting any of the list moderators privately please be descriptive in the subject line as to the purpose of the message. Many of us simply delete messages from people we don't know. At the present time there are over 650 subscribers to this list, so we can't possibly know everybody on here. Also, if you have a question for the list that falls within the guidelines, then post it accordingly. Don't contact the management team with questions that are more appropriate for the list itself. Your question may or may not receive an answer for a number of reasons. Everybody should familiarize themselves with the content contained in the footer message that accompanies every message posted to the list. Occasionally there might be some difficulty with your email address and you may receive an email from the Mailman program asking you to reactivate your account. Please do not simply delete this message. Instead open it and follow the directions to reactivate your account. If you do not after receiving a number of such messages then the Mailman program will remove your email address automatically. The discussion of anything illegal is absolutely forbidden, along with flirting or other such inappropriate activities. This is not a high tech swap shop or anything of that nature at all. This means that goods and or services will not be bought or sold using this forum. If you know a given subject is off topic then don't post it. Simply placing off topic in the subject line does not make it all right. Cross-posting is not permitted, and members should only post in the following manner: Using the TO: field with only one list address. The SUBJECT: field should be short and to the point without including any member names. The reason for this is that in cases where people setup their message rules to go by the to: field often times such rules get fouled up and in effect do not work properly. Also cross posting might allow you to reach many lists at the same time but the fact is such a post might not be on topic for each and every list. This practice does nothing but clutter up such lists with unwanted off topic messages along with annoying the list moderators. Lastly please no jokes, virus warnings, recipes, safety tips, or pleas to help dying kids, should ever be forwarded to the list. Forwarded messages and attachments are not permitted. If you have an article or message of interest which relates to the Nature of this list send it to the list owner and if it is appropriate, it will be posted to the list. Additionally if you want to make an announcement about another list send it to the list owner for consideration. Do not post it to the list before obtaining approval. No

Re: [JAWS-Users] defragler
Settings is in the menu bar. You can press alt+s to get to it or you could hit alt then arrow to it. As far as the tool bar, there's a workaround for that. When you run the install, when it gets to the screen where it asks if you want to install the tool bar, you can do an OCR on it. That will give you a chance to select whether or not you want to install the tool bar. This assumes you have Jaws 13 or later and the OCR engine is installed. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS with Nuance Dragon Naturally Speaking
No, You have to assign both programs quick key commands to be able to switch back & forth. You leave jaws to come up as usual on start up and set guide not to start in the start menu. You select guide with the key command, control + alt + G and jaws control + alt + J. You have to exit from one program to go to the other, but the windows desktop will always be running in the back ground. Re: [JAWS-Users] deleting files from out box
HI Sugar. I've had this trouble a couple of times. The problem I found was despite everything I did I couldn't get rid of it because outlook kept trying to send but it was too large. What you have to do is Go to your file menu and click on Work offline then close outlook and wait for around 60 to 90 seconds to be sure the programme has completely shut down. Now re-launch outlook and go to your outbox and delete the file, you should find it goes this time. Once it has gone, you can then go back to your menu and click on Work Online and that should solve the problem, it has done so for me but I was working on XP but the principle should still apply.
