Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook Express, options, finding advanced page, removing message from server

2015-12-14 Thread Scorpio Forever

Hi Neil,

That's because you're looking in the application settings, and not the
account settings.

When you press alt+T for the tools menu, assuming you're using the original
Outlook Express, press the letter A for accounts, and in the resulting
dialog box, arrow up or down to the account she's trying to change the
setting on.

Once highlighted, press alt+P for the properties dialog box, then
control+tab to go to the Advanced tab.

One thing I would recommend is to leave the copy of messages on the server,
but check the box after that that says, "Remove from server when deleted
from the 'deleted items' folder", this will ensure that she's got a copy of
the messages she wants to keep or archive, but deletes the messages she
doesn't want to keep when she clears her deleted items folder.

Just a thought, but feel free to act according to the person's needs.

Scorpio

page,removing message from server

Hello Gang:

I have a friend using outlook express. She has way too many messages on her
Frontier server. I thought there was a way to go to the advanced page and
check/uncheck some boxes concerning messages on her server.

However, we could not find the location to do that. I went to tools and
options. Found the general page, send/receive, maintenance, and so forth.
But, I never found an advanced page. I was almost sure there was an advanced
page to accomplish this task. No luck.

So, without look express, how do you get to the location to manage things
on the server? I think we tried all menus.

After going to tools, the first thing is the send and receive sub menu.
But, the only thing I heard there was "control m." No pages came up.

So, I know you know the answer. Thanks for your future response.

Neil

[JAWS-Users] motorola bluetooth ear piece

2015-12-14 Thread Lenny McHugh
I purchased a bluetooth adaptor for the laptop computer. I installed the
software but it does not show up on the desktop. also installed office 2010
student edition and that also does not show up on the desktop. Anyway can
this bluetooth ear piece that I purchased for my Iphone be able to work with
a laptop computer?
Karen told me that the ms word was installed to the taskbar as opposed to
the desktop. On this win 10 machine how do I move the new installs?

Hi

On the Freedom Scientific home page, press enter on the downloads link.
Then down arrow once and you should be on the JAWS link, so press enter.
Find the link that says JAWS 17.0.1214 64-bit and press enter. The file
that is downloaded is the installer for the current release of JAWS 17.
After this file has run, the installed copy of JAWS will run as a full
licensed version if your JAWS authorization allows JAWS 17. But if your
JAWS authorization doesn't' allow JAWS 17, or you don't have an JAWS
authorization, JAWS will run as a 40 minute demo. After the JAWS demo has
run for 40 minutes, you will have to reboot to run the JAWS demo again.

I'm pretty sure it's just JAWS reputing itself. I've gotten used to this

causing JAWS to read the updated text. You might be able to suppress this

Hi Dave,

Well, what can I tell you?! This is what FS says, & there must be some kind of
method to their madness, so to speak! I don't have the scripting knowledge to
understand what will happen if the line of text is inserted into the JSS file
being that the semicolon is at the beginning of the line of text. From my very
limited script knowledge that semicolon basically tells Jaws to ignore that
line of text so, if that's true I wouldn't have a clue as to what that would
mean. I guess the important thing would be to know exactly where in the JSS
file this line of text goes in order to know what effect it would have with
prior scripts. My guess would be that this JSS text line insertion is only a
temporary fix of some sort for Jaws 17 & earlier until FS gets the merge
utility configured & ready for prime time use. Hopefully Señor Eric Damry will
wade in on this topic & clarify for us what's happening.
Take care.

Mike,

This makes no sense, what FS posted.

First, it sounds like this makes a JAWS 17 script compatible with prior
versions of JAWS, not forward-compatible.

Second, that line, even without the quotes, is prefaced with a semicolon,
which makes it simply a comment line, and not executed or compiled.

Hi Steve,

Is this the section in what's new in Jaws 17 you're referring to?

Compatibility Mode option has been removed from Script Manager and the -c
command line switch has been removed from scompile.exe. To compile scripts
that
will work with prior versions of JAWS, you must now insert the following
line without the quotes into your JSS file:

";#pragma usePoFile 0"

list end

Take care.

NO,
TRY THIS:
This will work in any mailbox in-box, sent-box etc etc.
1. Press ctrl+shift+the letter "f"=advance-find.
2. Tab three times=from:edit.
3. Type in a sender's first or last name (Mike B(Smile) 4. Press enter.
5. Press the f6key and you are put into the list of messages by the sender
you searched for.
6. If you open a message to read it, press escape once to close it. Then
move to the next one to read.
7. If you open a message to read and do not wish to read any more, press
escape twice and you are placed back in to the original location were the
search was started. This means if you were in the in-box when starting the
search, pressing escape twice will return you back to the in-box. Pressing
escape once will only return you to the list of messages found in the
search.

Hi,
Perhaps it’s bad internet form to reply to one’s own post but I thought I
would as I’ve just discovered much to my great delight that while JFW 17
doesn’t read the to and from fields in the dialog for printing envelopes in
Microsoft Office 2016 Microsoft Narrator does perform flawlessly. So anyone
looking for a work-around in the meantime might be as happy as I am to
discover that Narrator is a help in this situation.
Here’s hoping that perhaps one day sooner rather than later JFW can be made
to work better in this dialog once again as it did in jfw and office
versions past.
I hope that helps someone.

Hi Everyone,
I’m running JFW version 17 under windows 10 in conjunction with office 2016

reading the to and from address areas at all. Can anyone else reproduce this

this dialog area?
thanks in advance.

That is good news.
I "cheat" & use my little bit of vision with MAGic to cope with that function

No. The WinAmp setting is the same for both versions of JAWS.
I even removed the ad blocker program, but the problem with the vertual

I have never seen the "##" option. But, when I just went and checked, the
other downloads had completed. And, today the Windows 10 check box showed

figure. I guess they are trying to sneak us into it.

You have to click on the "## optional updates" link in the Windows Update
window. You'll find a reference to the Windows 10 update in there. Arrow
down to it and hit the [Spacebar] to uncheck it. Then you'll be able to
continue with the d/l of the important updates you really want to get. Even
though normally any updates listed under "Optional" aren't checked as a
default, Microsoft has decided to check the Windows 10 update. Figure that
LOL!

[JAWS-Users] Outlook Express, options, finding advanced page, removing message from server

2015-12-14 Thread Neil Towery

 Neil
