[JAWS-Users] Outlook 2013 question
Hello, Would somebody please remind me how to create an email group using Outlook 2013 and Jaws 17? I did it in Outlook Express years ago and can't find what I need. Thank you so much! --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
Re: [JAWS-Users] system information
Hi Kevin, If you're using a standard / desktop keyboard, directly to the right of the, F12 key, are 3 keys. Print Screen, Scroll Lock, & Pause. They are above what's referred to as the 6 pack of keys located between the main keyboard & the Numpad. If you do as Joseph Lee suggests, route your Jaws cursor to the PC cursor & arrow down to read all the information, or you can virtualize the window to copy the info as I suggested earlier. Take care. [JAWS-Users] partition usb drive?
My grandson just received his 2tb usb drive. I want to help him make it into 3 virtual drives a 1tb and 2 more equal parts or close to it. I thought that windows 10 could accomplish this task but I was incorrect. It states that usb drives must use 3rd party software. I scanned through the programs list and did not see any free programs. He only wants to partition the drive one time. He asked if just making 3 main folders would work. I think it would but the 3 drives would be best. The 1tb for all of the downloads of the large steam games that he uses. and each of the other partitions to backup his new desktop and the 3rd to backup his college laptop. --- Please visit my web page It’s motivational, inspirational with a touch of humor There is also a very extensive resource list for the blind http://www.LennyMcHugh.com International Brotherhood of Magicians member #43990 For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

Hi, A much better (and perhaps a stable) way: press Windows+R, type "msinfo32" (without quotes), then press ENTER. Navigate through the list that appears which will tell you everything you need to know about your computer and your OS. Another way to get system info is to type system in the search box. However, when I did that I got the info but got JAWS acting erratic so had to shut down and restart JAWS. [JAWS-Users] How to capture system information
You can get that text by using the JAWS layered keystrokes of JAWS key plus space bar, then h for the JAWS speech history buffer. You do this right after having read the information, regardless of whether in or out of review mode. Copy the string of text you want; I typically just press control a to select all, control C for copy, then paste into Word. I then edit that to have just the portions of text I want. Give it a try, it helps with all instances of wanting to capture something JAWS said, since the buffer includes JAWS prompts and messages. Re: [JAWS-Users] Clipboard text keeps interfering with JAWS
Hi Adrian, After removing the ENU Files & replacing them, did you unload & restart Jaws? Also, what happens if you delete the contents of the clipboard? I just wonder if deleting the contents of the clipboard will stop the clipboard from showing / interfering with Jaws. Also, maybe someone will clear this up because I don't know if the Clipboard is a part of Windows Explorer, or the operating system, & Office & Outlook have commands to access it, or if the Clipboard is actually a part of the Office / Outlook program. Take care. This is the problem where JAWS verbalizes a clipboard, possibly the Office clipboard, when I open an Outlook 2010 message or start replying to a message. It all started after I experimented with the Office clipboard settings. As far as I can tell, disabling the Office clipboard doesn't solve the problem I'm having, which is that JAWS will verbalize clipboard contents when I open a new message. I could be wrong, but although I can't confirm when the clipboard is disabled, I've followed the steps to disable it. After a long talk with Mike B, I established one new fact and tried a new approach. The new fact is that Outlook works fine with JAWS 17. This surely confirms that the problem I'm having is with JAWS 18. Mike suggested I try removing certain files from my JAWS 18 ENU folder and replacing them with the same files from my JAWS 17 ENU folder. Other than an Outlook.jdf file, the only files that seemed relevant were Outlook.jcf and Word.jcf. I went ahead, removed them from the J18 ENU folder and replaced them with the J17 ENU equivalents. Unfortunately, the problem persists. (I've now restored the original two JCF files to my J18 ENU folder. Note that before doing all that, I copied both folders and clearly labeled them. I was super careful not to confuse the files. There were other steps in-between, but they didn't establish anything. So, can anyone suggest anything based on this new information? Could another ENU file possibly be involved? I haven't upgraded to the current JAWS 18 release. Might doing so solve the problem?
