To set Gmail up with out look you should not have to get into the manual set up, you should just be able to enter your user/email name, account name and password in the outlook email setup wizard. Here is the tricky part, in the last 8 months or so Google has changed a setting and you have to go into your Gmail settings to change it or it wont activate. You have to find a Gmail setting that says something like, allow less secure apps. If you don't change this setting in Gmail you can no longer set up your Gmail with outlook. Here is the link to take you through the steps. When you do find the setting the wording is tricky so read three times just to confuse yourself and then uncheck the box, good luck. https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255?hl=en -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Rick Justice Sent: Sunday, March 26, 2017 1:16 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] [jaws] creating a gmail email account Hi Andy, Give this a try: Source: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7104828?ctx=mail=en_id=1-636 261519406724775-2946780235=1 Read Gmail messages on other email clients using POP You can open your messages from Gmail in other mail clients that support POP, like Microsoft Outlook. Re: [JAWS-Users] The Control and ALT keys, your best friend, part 3
Jim, There are some points I didn't remember here, so thanks. I have two suggestions. First, concerning the steps for creating a favorite in IE, the website's or webpage's name is an edit field. I often change the name in this field, especially when I want the name to begin with a certain letter for future first-letter navigation. Second, as far as I can tell, each of your placemarker setting examples assumes no placemarkers have yet been set on a given page. When placemarkers have already been set on a page, the first field you land on after pressing control-shift-k lists them. To add a new one, be sure that none of these placemarker names is selected. To deselect, press control-spacebar. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of James Flusche Sent: Sunday, March 26, 2017 7:00 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] The Control and ALT keys, your best friend, part 3 Good afternoon Jaws Users list. Mike, It may depend on your synthesizer. Using Win7, JAWS 18 and Dectalk Express, JAWS makes the appropriate inflection for question marks. Re: [JAWS-Users] [jaws] creating a gmail email account
I am not sure if OE stands for outlook, outlook express is no longer the program name if I understand right.
Hi Justin, thanks for adding some more keystrokes. I just try and give the most used ones to help get members started with trying new things. Thanks again, Smiles. Listen to the waterfall roar, what an awesome sound, as we stand along the rivers shore. Listen to God's still voice, He is our Great Sheppard now and forever, let us rejoice. As a piece of drift wood, we float, down the river of life, we go like a boat. His voice is like the current, sudden or swift, He leads you through all life's turns and twist. You might sometimes drift, get back in the middle of God's will, where the current is swift. Watch out for the rapids, and the hidden stumps, or you could be overturned and possibly sunk. Beware of snags and snares, God can gently remove us, because He always cares. Just flow with the current of God's love, knowing that He is looking down from heaven above. Enjoy the ride, on God's River of life! Thanks Mike. I'll save this, but probably lose it somewhere. Really, it's just that I'm too old to remember how to do it from upgrade to upgrade. So why not have VFO simplify it and add this to the start-up wizard like the key echo setting. lucky1i...@gmail.com Faithfulness does not begin with large tasks-if it is not present in small things, it does not exist at all. Re: [JAWS-Users] Blogs
Hello Keith, In my experience, the wordpress site at www.wordpress.com is an accessible means for setting up a blog. When I set up a blog on this site, I noticed that I was only able to place textual information on it. If you would like to integrate video, it is doable, but requires some advanced JAWS navigation. I would also try the blogger site or google blogger with screen readers. This is a google product, so it should be accessible. Finally, if you are a fan of Dropbox, you may want to try the website https://blot.im/ a friend set up a blog using this service which integrates with it and stated at the time that it was accessible. Hope this helps On 3/26/17, Keith Yateswrote: > Hi All, > > I am new to the list. I mute my spacebar, tab, alt, enter, up/down/left/right, escape, and many others that just clutter up my JAWS experience. However I've noticed that I always need to re-do these after a major JAWS update (e.g. from 11 to 12). Dave From: Dave Scrimenti Go to the default configuration manager. In keyboard options, go to the key labels tab. Find the keys you want to mute, and use the radio buttons to mute them. I always mute the tab key, which also mutes the alt+tab combination. Re: [JAWS-Users] gold wave scrips
Hi Kimsan, I don't have Goldwave installed, but in looking at the contents of the scripts folder it looks like the first entry in the folder is a, .INI, file. If I'm not mistaken the, .INI, file would go into the Goldwave folder that's either in the Program Files or Program Files X86 folders on the root of the C drive. Then, at the bottom is a TXT file that contains keystrokes. So, all the rest of the files would go into the ENU folder of your particular version of Jaws. If I'm wrong, would someone please jump in & correct me?! Take care. Mike Sent from my iBarstool. Re: [JAWS-Users] Malwarebytes update
My copy of Malwarebytes automatically updated a week or so ago from version 2.3 to 3 something. The old version was not at all accessible, and 3 is not much better; even with the use of the JAWS OCR. I had Microsoft set up the new version so it would automatically scan once a day and be running real-time protection. I have to take it on faith past that. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws volume changes
Good Morning, I am afraid I don't have much to add except that I had this happen on a brand new work dell laptop a couple of years ago. It really is annoying! My IT person played with it for a while and I can't really remember what he did, but I think he updated drivers or possibly found others. I played with the volume settings and eventually I got it so that the volume change is minimal. That is, it still does it, but at least the difference in volume is not so much and not so jarring. Good luck!
