Hi,

I understand that email is not secure. However, it is also my understanding
that email services such as Gmail and yahoo are completely insecure and are
scanned in order to target advertising.

I need to change email providers so would be interested in any suggestions
of providers who maintain at least some privacy. I'd like to be able to
continue to use MS Outlook 2016.

Thanks for any guidance you might have.

[JAWS-Users] Email Issue

2018-02-10 Thread Michelle Clark
All,

When I am spellchecking an email, and have to go back to check other things
or alt tab to another window, I am finding Outlook will not let me finish
the email. What I end up doing is pressing escape and then pressing cancel
to complete my email

Is anyone experiencing this? I am using Microsoft 2013, JAWS18and Windows
10. I have been using this same configuration for over a year without any
problems. Could the situation be an update? Suggestions?

Re: [JAWS-Users] email Verizon problem

2017-06-28 Thread Blackwell, Clifford
With the switch to AOL for servicing Verizon emails, their spam filters have
gotten very messed up. I was having great difficulty with this about ten days
ago. I had the person to whom I was trying to send email to complete the
Verizon/AOL White List form, usually there's a link in the bounced emal notice.
My friend ultimately had to contact Verizon/AOL and got someone to fix all the
filters.

Good luck.

Re: [JAWS-Users] email servers with jaws

2017-03-18 Thread Audiobookfan
Jaws doesn't interact directly with a mail server, so technically it
works equally well with all of them. Jaws interacts with the mail
program you're using.

If you're running Vista, Windows Mail works quite well with Jaws. I
didn't start using Thunderbird until I got my Windows 10 computer, but
that's what I'm using to compose this message. I think Thunderbird would
be a good option on a Vista computer using Jaws 17. Both Thunderbird and
Windows Mail support POP3 and IMAP servers which are pretty standard for
all providers, including Yahoo, Gmail, etc.

[JAWS-Users] Email not showing up in my inbox

2017-01-29 Thread Fred C. Adams
Using W10, outlook 2010 and latest jaws. Last week I stopped receiving
email and called Microsoft for help. The lady helping me unstalled and
reinstalled outlook and everything seemed to be working fine. Later I
noticed that when I would open outlook my inbox would show the inbox empty.
I knew that I was receiving email because I was hearing the ding sounds.
After I navigate through several folders and return to the inbox I sometimes
will find a number of email messages and sometime I do not. I have checked
all settings I can think of many times over. I will appreciate any
suggestions on fixing this as it is very irritating.

Thanks much,

Re: [JAWS-Users] email registration recapcha

2017-01-21 Thread Gerald Levy

There are three programs for solving image captchas that work with JAWS.
The most popular is a free add-on called Webvisum that works with Firefox
and uses a proprietary algorithm for solving captchas. Once you install the
Webvisum add-on, you press Alt-Control-numrow 6 on the page that contains
the image captcha. Webvisum then solves it and returns the result on your
clipboard ready to be pasted into the appropriate edit field. Another image
solving program is called Rumola, which costs 99 cents a year. It works
with both Firefox and IE, and uses sighted human operators to solve
captchas. The third program is called Captcha Be Gone, which, like Rumola,
uses human operators to solve captchas and works with Firefox and IE, and
now Google Chrome as well. But it costs $33 a year, which is a steep price
to pay if you only need to solve captchas on an infrequent basis.

Hi.

For the record, in case there's not some specific reason to use a
microsoft mail client as your fallback that i'm unaware of, Thunderbird
might be suitable. It gets very sluggish if you have lots of emails
being synced while you're trying to read messages, but the sluggishness
goes away once it is synced up. You can do threaded conversation view,
and are able with JAWS's drag and drop feature most of the time to move
the columns around to get a really efficient order of information in the
message list so you can quickly perhaps even more quickly than the
microsoft clients review and delete unwanted conversations and the like.
I can most likely help you set up thunderbird if you want to try it and
could use help. If you're interested let me know the best way to contact
you. Can you use skype chat? I'm profoundly deaf, I'm generally most
comfortable using instant messages.

Hi,
With Wlm, You can import Gmail, Yahoo, and many other accounts imap or pop.
However, you cannot import Microsoft email accounts like Hotmail and Outlook
mail. Those two are email services that are run by Microsoft, and you cannot
import those two accounts into Windows Live Mail. Any other email account
will import into Windows Live Mail.

Take care, and please ask anymore questions.

Hi Arianna,
Using JAWS and win10, the two best clients that work best with JAWS are
Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail. Right behind, After the new build of
win10 that will come out in a week, the win10 mail app will be
accessible with JAWS. Unfortunately, without Outlook at this moment,
Thunderbird is your only choice with which you can import any account
into it, imap or pop. With Windows Live Mail, you cannot import MS
accounts like Outlook mail, or Hotmail. I would suggest Thunderbird at
this point, because there have been some little hiccups with Windows
Live Mail.

You can obtain Thunderbird from the below link:

I use it both for personal and school related email and it works like

Once your on the page just look for the free download button.

Hi Arianna,
Using JAWS and win10, the two best clients that work best with JAWS
are Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail. Right behind, After the new
build of win10 that will come out in a week, the win10 mail app
will be accessible with JAWS. Unfortunately, without Outlook at
this moment, Thunderbird is your only choice with which you can
import any account into it, imap or pop. With Windows Live Mail,
you cannot import MS accounts like Outlook mail, or Hotmail. I
would suggest Thunderbird at this point, because there have been
some little hiccups with Windows Live Mail.

Hi, This is Helga. How are you? I use outlook 2016 email client. It is
accessible with JAWS 17 and windows 10. I use to use Windows Live mail
2012, but if you have a microsoft email account Windows live mail 2012

Hi Helga and all,
The user said that other than Outlook, what is the best client? They do not
want Outlook, because they said they are not crazy about it.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Email programs with W10

2016-07-24 Thread David Moore

Hi Arianna,
Using JAWS and win10, the two best clients that work best with JAWS are
Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail. Right behind, After the new build of
win10 that will come out in a week, the win10 mail app will be accessible
with JAWS. Unfortunately, without Outlook at this moment, Thunderbird is
your only choice with which you can import any account into it, imap or pop.
With Windows Live Mail, you cannot import MS accounts like Outlook mail, or
Hotmail. I would suggest Thunderbird at this point, because there have been
some little hiccups with Windows Live Mail.

the other location where you can fiddle with settings for receipts is in
adjusting the settings for each account, but doing so uses the global
settings, which is not what you want anyway, but that's not your issue.

[JAWS-Users] Email reading style

2016-07-05 Thread wayne smith
Hello all-

I am using Windows 7 with Outlook 2007. When I get some emails and open
them some are in a table style and others in a memo style. Under the File
menu I can choose between the table style which is unreadable or the memo
style which I can read. When I go into the menu and choose memo style and
hit ok, then I have to close and re-open Outlook and I can read all memos
and the table style is gone. However, it keeps coming back and I need to
know if I can permenantly select memo style for reading all email messages.

Thanks in advance for any help,

[JAWS-Users] email video links

2016-04-14 Thread Lenny McHugh
I am at the point that I will not view any videos that are sent to me by
links. Twice some unwanted software was installed on my machine. I honestly
believed that it came from watching a forwarded email video link.
I just installed uncheck to help prevent unwanted software from being
installed when you do some updates. Is there anything that will notify or
stop the installation of unsoliced software when bringing up a video link? I
have the vipre firewall and antivirus software running.

I think I should get a sound for my boss, though so I will not miss her

Kimsan, since I do not hav Outlook 2013, my Googling leads me to think:

if incomming email arrives in one inbox, I'm assuming you have created
personal folders that serve as the inbox folder for either account, meaning
one inbox for your personal account and one for your work account?

if so, my guess is to modify the filter that moves an email into it's
respective inbox folder to use a different sound when the email arrives.

this means you cannot have the default sound for an incomming email play
since you want a different sound played for each account.

I'm not sure if the process of creating/modifying a filter includes playing
a sound of your choice.

if this is possible, not only can you assign a sound for an email for an
account but you can also play a different sound for a targeted person, like
your boss.

I'm sorry for not giving steps, but is this clear as mud?

a sound of your choice.

if this is possible, not only can you assign a sound for an email for an
account but you can also play a different sound for a targeted person, like
your boss.

I'm sorry for not giving steps, but is this clear as mud?

I think I know what you mean, but not as clear as mud, though lol.

Yes, I have in my personal account the inbox, and all the beloved
subfolders, and my work email that uses exchange, also has its own inbox and
subfolders. I was getting ready to investigate; however, I can't seem to
get to the message rules options.

Hi all,
I am very sorry that I have not had the time to record my WLM tutorial yet.
My wife is very sick, and she had to go into the hospital. She is home now,
but we are still catching up on what we could not get done while she was
sick. I will record the tutorial this coming Wednesday (March 16), and I
will send it to David that day. Thank you for being so patient. Note that
the tutorial I have already sent to a lot of you, was recorded by someone
else and the tutorial and the quality of the recording is not that good. I
was just giving you that to help you get you started until I record my
tutorial and you get it. I will go over everything that you would ever want
to do in Windows Live Mail, including importing different accounts into it.
Take care, and have a great one.

[JAWS-Users] email problem since win 10 update

2016-03-13 Thread Lenny McHugh
A friend ask me if I could help him. I have no idea why this happened to
him. The same night last Wednesday that my grandson’s computer was upgraded
to win 10 his also was updated. He uses I.E. and Hotmail. Since the upgrade
he can not send email but can receive messages. Not sure where to look to
try and help him.

2016-03-06 Thread David Ferrin
I am sorry that I don't have the chrome tutorial any longer. If you would
drop box it to me privately I will post it. The WLM recording was done by a
third party and as such I can't post it for various reasons.

Now if you did a recording yourself I could post it. Besides not to cast
aspersions I believe you could do a better job.

Hey guys, currently I'm using windows 7 and jaws 15 but I have a new laptop

I haven't updated to the latest jaws 17 because I've been told it doesn't

Hi Zoe,
Use WLM, works great.

Love God! with your heart, mind, and soul, that you might be blessed
reaching His goal.
Love your Neighbor as you would yourself, God will truly reward you with
good health.
Love God, your neighbor, as you love yourself, you will then be spiritually
balanced with wealth.
Love His Word that proceeds from His lips, then reflect on the heavens where
God sits.

repair caused problems as well as fixing some so I am taking my chances for
now.
I only have gmail accounts. The only problem I am having at all with it is
that I can't get the rules to stick. I have set up rules several times and
saved them and then applied them and they worked fine. But the future mail
was not sorted and when I opened the rules list none had been retained.
I have Outlook 2013 but it is totally different and I can't find
instructions for using it, so I am not ready to tackle it until I can find
some really good tutorials or instructions.

well if you decide to use wlm, you'll need to install the patch microsoft
developed. so you'll need to download windows live essentials and the wlm
patch. if you don't install the patch wlm will not work!

Up until now I have no email client on the doormat. It is a win 10 machine
and wondering if I can install windows live mail and then import my email
from my pop 3 account. I know that I would have to export it to a usb drive
then import. I then would like to use a Gmail account. I want to keep all of
my address book information there. Maybe a little later use both the Gmail
account and my Comcast pop3 account.

Hey,

That's cool the folders I mean. So, now I can access the IMAP folders through
WM, I think I will like that. It's clearly marked on my end which group is
displayed, actually I have them both opened, so just a matter of down arrowing
to which group.

  Hi Trish,

If you delete the POP3 account you won't get any email in POP3 format. I
had both IMAP & POP3 installed for my primary email address & was seeing the
folders for both accounts at the same time. I was careful to make sure I
named each as MB69 POP3 & MB69 IMAP so I could tell the difference between
the 2 accounts. When I arrowed down through the list & tabbed into the MB69
POP Inbox I got the POP3 emails, & when I arrowed down to MB69 IMAP & tabbed
into the Inbox there were the IMAP emails. Also, my POP3 account had more
folders than my IMAP account because of folders I had created for separating
  email with message rules.

Now, what I've done is create separate identities for each account so I only
get the proper email / folders when opening that particular identity. For
example: When I open the MB69 POP3 identity I get only the emails / folders
for my POP3 format &, when I open my MB69 IMAP identity I get only the IMAP
emails / folders for this fromat.

I'm running Outlook Express on my Windows 7 computer which does support the
use of multiple identities but, being that Windows Mail doesn't support the
use of multiple identities you may have to choose between POP3 & IMAP as per
  your convenience.

Having both POP3 & IMAP can be done but, it can get very confusing!

  Take care.

Hi Mike,

Appreciate this info. Wouldn't the folders for the IMAP be different from the
POP folders?
I know from other non-window's devices they are to a degree. The basic folders
are same, but one's I've created in the POP are not present in the IMAP folder
lineup.
I guess I am a bit confused on WM and these multi-identies, since I read that
WM allows for different email accounts, are they not the same thing?
Maybe you mean, if someone else using same computer and created mail account,
WM wouldn't recognize or support it?
Maybe I should get the win/7 OE, what does that all involve as far as
installing/setting up, any tutorials on how to do this?
Thanks for your help,
Trish

Trish,

What are the new port numbers and server addresses that you are using for
the new account. Are you setting this up as imap? Most ISP's are going to
this. Also, what is the domaine for this account?

hello,,
i need to find out something to with my email client on my window's 7
laptop.
My ISP has recently changed servers, so I changed it in tools/accounts for
my email property settings. I might note here that this is an account using
POP with email client using Window's Mail.

So after changing on the server tab from the old server based on what my ISP
is telling me to the new server, mail.twc.com I do all that and apply the
changes and ok it and close out the accounts.
But then I get a pop-up from Window's Credentials wanting me to give my user
name/password, so I do this, and tab to ok. *window's credentials checkbox
is checked here to remember or for security purposes.
This is a nightmare, cause this *bi*** will not go away and keeps asking
same thing over and over.

I can alt-tab back to inbox, but no mail, huge sigh here.

so is there a work around this most annoying pop-up, what would happen if
the checkbo is not checked on the credentials?
I cannot create another email account because WM does not like
multi-identies.
so am I just like stuck here? The server goes back to the old settings and
all is fine, no pop-up, no issues, mail comes in.

And my ISP gets paid to give wrong info apparently, lol

Appreciated for any feedback on all this if anyone has anything to offer.

Trish,

So, you are saying you have an IMAP and a POP 3 account set up for the same
email address on the same computer? I have never heard of this, although that
is not saying it can't be done, and unless you are using separate email
clients and/or identities within the same client I don't understand how it can
happen. That said, and this is just my opinion, I think once you delete that
POP 3 account, those folders are gone and not accessible through IMAP.

Re: [JAWS-Users] email accounts setting

2015-10-20 Thread Mike B

Take care.
Mike

Hi Again,

I read over this info again, then something clicked in the old brain smiles.
I did find a folder titled “TWC” last item of the folder list via the POP
account.
I get what your saying here now.
What I still need to know is, should I delete the pop mail account then?
Thanks for your patience and help on this matter.

Trish,

Your existing folders in the POP3 account will be accessible
from the device configured as POP 3 with that account. any
device configured as IMAP will not see them because those
folders are on the local device that created them. To say
another way, my primary account with road runner is POP 3
because I share with my wife on two separate computers at
home. However the folders she has on her computer and the
ones I have on mine are different. Now, when we travel, I
can get our mail on my IPhone for that account but it is
IMAP as the phone will not let me setup POP 3. So the only
thing I see on the phone that is the same as on home PC is
inbox. Does this answer your question? The easiest way to
understand this is IMAP folders, info, etc. is maintained at
the ISP server; POP 3 folders etc. you create are on the
local device that created them.

Al

update on my question, I read some info so i was able to
create an IMAP account, weather that was a smart move or not
remains to be seen.
This was necessary for other devices with email functions
that required IMAP accounts.
I can deal with this type of account as long as my existing
email folders I created using the POP account are still
available to access, if anyone can tell me that 1M
questions, would make me happy.
