Hi Mike, does VIPRE Antivirus contains a firewall feature?I am asking this question just because I am using a version of VIPRE Antivirus called VIPRE Antivirus Premium4.0.19 which include a firewall feature On 2/15/2015 10:36 AM, Mike Boyd wrote: I use Vipre Internet Security, from Threat Track Security:http://www.threattracksecurity.com/. They also have a plain Antivirus version, which you can use in conjunction with the Windows Firewall. I am not familiar with their current prices, but you can purchase their products from 1 year to a lifetime subscription, and I believe the pricing is comparable if not better than other top named antivirus software companies. I also use Malware Bytes as an additional way to find and delete malware, and there is a free version of this available. Again, however, right now Malware Bytes is working to make their latest version of their product fully JAWS compatible, as they changed to a new programming platform on their latest version, and nust work the bugs out of it. I can however provide you with a copy of he installation file for the last JAWS compatible version, V. 1.75, if you might think that you would be interested in having it. Re: [JAWS-Users] microsoft security essentials
I am certain that MSE is not compatible with Windows 8.1, since Microsoft has turned their Windows Defender into a full blown antivirus package. Now, Deja, if you want something free, you might try going to Control Panel and turning on Windows Defender and Windows Firewall. That is, if you are running Windows 8 or 8.1. In windows 7 or earlier, Defender is not a good choice for antivirus protection. [JAWS-Users] Microsoft security essentials question
Hi gang, When I have my computer do a scheduled full system scan with microsoft security essentials, it takes nearly 6 hours to complete the scan. When I scan without a scan schedule, it takes less than 6 hours almost 2 hours. Does anybody know why that a scheduled scan is taking so so long for it to complete scanning? When I have it set to automatically do a full system scan my PC at 10 A.M. it takes so so long for it to complete scanning. I usually turn off my laptop in the evenings to give it a break, but when it's scanning I can't do this. Do anyone know why this is? Thanks! Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Security Essentials on my netbook
Russ, You can choose a manual quick-scan or thorough scan. Also, if you open MSSE, tab until you hear the home button, then left arrow once or twice, you will land on a settings treview where you can configure settings to tell MSEE what you want it to do for various default actions.
