2012-07-30 Thread Deb Caldbeck
RJ, I would agree with FS that the problem is with IE 8 rather than JAWS, as
I am using JAWS 12 and IE 8 and just recently started having problems with
the BARD site. It works fine as long as I hit insert escape.

Keep your current version on your computer and use it when you must access
the Bard page. That's what I plan to do if I have trouble with the site.

Hi
If you do an alt tab several times. You should land on a window that
says JAWS. Then use the red line command. This should tell you the current
version of JAWS you have running.
 I hope this helps.

God bless,
Mark

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 13 update

2011-11-21 Thread Mike Barbara
Hi Marilyn,

To check to see what version of Jaws you have running, try the following;
1. If you run Jaws from the system tray, press insert / Jaws key + J, then
press the letter A, Jaws will read the currently running version of Jaws.

2. If you are not running Jaws from the system tray, alt + tab, to your Jaws
window, invoke your say line keystroke, insert / Jaws key + up arrow, Jaws
will read the currently running version.

If Jaws13 was installed you would have a Jaws13 shortcut on your desktop
Jaws13 would probably be running.

Below is what the Jaws13 download will read like if you try to find it;

J13.0.527-32bit.exe

If you downloaded the 32 bit version. If you downloaded the 64 bit version
everything would be the same except it would read like this;

J13.0.527-64bit.exe

I normally have all my downloads go to a designated download folder that I
created in the root of my C drive, or I will download stuff to the My
Documennts folder just so my downloads are easy to find. If you need more
help let us know. Hope this has helped. Take care.
Mike

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 13 update

2011-11-19 Thread Doris and Chris
Download the full installer from fs's website if you have not done
so already. Try to install this on top of your previous build of jaws 13.

If this fails also, make sure you have nvda to fall back on - download from

www.nvda-project.org

then uninstall your previous jaws 13 including shared components and
do a clean install of the latest jaws 13.0.527 that you downloaded
from fs's website.

If the above is daunting, get someone sighted and/or experienced to help.

You may want to keep nvda as a backup screenreader on your system.
It doesn't need a video intercept and has saved my own heiney more
than once. also, if you give nvda a good workout, you may find it
does a lot of what you need and want a screenreader to do and it
comes with a very user-friendly price tag ... *smile*

Hi
I installed the latest version of JAWS 13. After that when I am
navigating the list of E-Mails in my In Box, it says the proper information
about each E-Mail as I arrow to it. However, When I tell JAWS to read the
line to hear the information about the E-Mail JAWS is currently on, I hear
garbled information from some other part of the screen. Any ideas on how to
fix this?
 Thank you.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 13 update and MS Outlook 2010

2011-11-17 Thread Rose Combs
It is the view window in outlook. Press alt H, then move across the ribbon
to view, Might work with pressing alt V, it has been a while since I have
been in there.

My problems with Outlook 2010 are that when I delete a word using control
backspace it says blank instead of the word I took out, it is annoying
since when I am writing something and maybe want to remove a phrase I have
to keep reading the line over to be sure I got out what I wanted. Someone
said I had to turn on delete but, I have been through all the settings for
Outlook and the default settings and don't see such an option. I actually
needed to reboot my computer to get a lot of things in Outlook to work right
the first time I installed this last update, and even now it occasionally
wants to read my desktop in addition to the messages in the folder.

Hmm, one place I did not look under was keyboard settings. but it has never
changed this particular behavior in the past.
