[JBoss-dev] [ jboss-Bugs-705542 ] Errorenous IllegalStateException on CMR-Collection
Bugs item #705542, was opened at 2003-03-18 13:53 You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detailatid=376685aid=705542group_id=22866 Category: JBossCMP Group: v3.2 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Johan Granlund (johgr814) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Errorenous IllegalStateException on CMR-Collection Initial Comment: We've been dealing with this bug since we started up our project with JBoss 3.0.0. Now we are using JBoss 3.0.2RC2 with Postgres 7.2 and we still get it. When we are using a Collection retrieved with a CMR-getter on a local interface the Collection sporadicly maybe 1 of 200 calls thinks it was created in another transaction that obviously isn't the case. We get a stacktrace like this: 12:21:38,121 ERROR [LogInterceptor] RuntimeException: java.lang.IllegalStateException: The iterator of a CMR collection may only be used within the transction in which it was created at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.cmp.jdbc.bridge.RelationSet$1.verif yIteratorIsValid(RelationSet.java:345) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.cmp.jdbc.bridge.RelationSet$1.has Next(RelationSet.java:298) at se.alleato.ejb.alexandria.server.facade.PersonFacadeBe an.getNodePersonRoles(PersonFacadeBean.java:318) ... This isn't isolated to any specific bean, instead it occurs on Collection retrieved by local CMP interfaces that are called often. It is obvious an errorenous behaviour that can be worked around by catching the exception and creating the Collection again by calling the getter again which works fine but clearly is anoying. -- Comment By: Alexey Loubyansky (loubyansky) Date: 2003-04-01 11:27 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=543482 Please, try 3.2.0RC5 from CVS. It should be fixed now. Thanks, alex -- Comment By: Johan Granlund (johgr814) Date: 2003-04-01 10:48 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=509036 Yes I'm using pessimistic locking, never got any performance out of the optimistic. I pretty sure this is a duplicate bug #634910 and in that report there is test case. -- Comment By: Alexey Loubyansky (loubyansky) Date: 2003-03-28 17:17 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=543482 Are you using pessimistic locking? I tried to reproduce it but couldn't. I have a Parent and 1000 of related Child instances. There are 100 concurrent threads that getting parent's children collection and iterate over it. This does not fail for me. If could you provide a testcase that fails even time to time that would be great. alex -- Comment By: Johan Granlund (johgr814) Date: 2003-03-28 12:15 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=509036 I'm using Required transaction setting. The error occurs no matter what commit option I'm using. I don't think any special use case is required to reproduce it, just specify two entity beans A 1-n B. Create one session bean that fetches the collection a.getBs() and iterate over it. With some load the error will occur. -- Comment By: Johan Granlund (johgr814) Date: 2003-03-28 12:06 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=509036 Sorry about that, 3.2.0RC2 it was, and now 3.2.0RC4. I can also add that the easiest way to reproduce the bug is to put load on the system, then you can be sure it will happen, in our case it starts around 15 simultanous users. To work around the problem I have patched the RelationSet class. In the constructor I copy the setHandle array to the member variable instead of assigning it. This makes everything work fine but clearly isn't the correct way. -- Comment By: Stephen Coy (scoy) Date: 2003-03-28 11:30 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=463096 Are you *really* using JBoss 3.0.2RC2? Or is it 3.2.0RC2? Either way, you need to provide more information wrt to the way you are specifying your transactions and your use cases. -- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detailatid=376685aid=705542group_id=22866 --- This SF.net email is sponsored by: ValueWeb: Dedicated Hosting for just $79/mo with 500 GB of bandwidth! Hello, All! I just test a EJB component,I found one of the functions execute will throw UndeclaredThrowableException Exception,I have no idea about it .I checked my remote interface, and beans I found nothing wrong, and the deploying is well. I use log4j to record the return value of the function, there is no error, that's the Fucntion in the bean is well formed ,when I execute client test code, the error appears, on the server there is nothing erorr. I catch the UndeclaredThrowableException Exception and call the "getUndeclaredThrowable" function, the error is "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.jboss.ejb.plugins.local.EntityProxy (no se curity manager: RMI class loader disabled) " What's on earth? Re[6]: [JBoss-dev] php5 is coming
I dont't want to reinvent a scripting language, but JSP are not adapted to nukes at all. I forwarded the contact info at the 2 java compiler projects onto Julien. Both support passing in a class loader from which classes will be obtained. One of the projects has a licensing issue (GPL), but they may be willing to change. I don't know what JDT is. It was not I who suggested it. The JDT page says: http://www.eclipse.org/jdt/index.html The JDT project provides the tool plug-ins that implement a Java IDE supporting the development of any Java application, including Eclipse plug-ins. It adds a Java project nature and Java perspective to the Eclipse Workbench as well as a number of views, editors, wizards, builders, and code merging and refactoring tools. The JDT project allows Eclipse to be a development environment for itself. Not obviously an in memory compiler, but maybe in there somewhere. When I post to j_security_check, I get the stack trace below. When j_security is invoked, I am getting the exception below. I have other applications (not using JAAS) which are working fine in the http session clustered environment. If it matters, I am using mod_jk2 in front as a load balancer. Anyway, I did some digging and a session attribute is being set of type JBossUserPrincipal (inner class to JBossUserRealm), which is in fact not serializable. I have started down the path to making things serializable, but am into stuff that I am not sure should be serializing (such as JaasSecurityManager). I'd be glad to do the fix, but may need some help from Scott/Jules/etc. I am assuming the principal should be in the distributed session. Also, I saw a post in forums that someone had the problem with 3.0.4. I can include an EAR if necessary. mike 14:18:29,541 WARN [jbossweb] WARNING: Exception for /opm/j_security_check java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: distributed attribute value must be Serializable,EJBObject,EJBHome,UserTransaction or Context: mjf860 at org.mortbay.j2ee.session.TypeCheckingInterceptor.setAt tribute(TypeCheckingInterceptor.java:76) at org.mortbay.j2ee.session.StateInterceptor.setAttribute (StateInterceptor.java:78) at org.mortbay.j2ee.session.AroundInterceptor.setAttribute (AroundInterceptor.java:198) at org.mortbay.j2ee.session.StateAdaptor.setAttribute (StateAdaptor.java:249) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.FormAuthenticator.authenticate d(FormAuthenticator.java:118) at org.mortbay.http.SecurityConstraint.check (SecurityConstraint.java:401) at org.mortbay.http.HttpContext.checkSecurityConstraints (HttpContext.java:1456) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHttpContext.checkSecuri tyConstraints(ServletHttpContext.java:137) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.WebApplicationHandler.dispatc h(WebApplicationHandler.java:235) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHandler.handle (ServletHandler.java:558) at org.mortbay.http.HttpContext.handle (HttpContext.java:1714) -- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detailatid=376685aid=713613group_id=22866 --- This SF.net email is sponsored by: ValueWeb: Dedicated Hosting for just $79/mo with 500 GB of bandwidth! [JBoss-dev] Subtle issue with passivation change in 3.2
In looking into why the testInVMSessionHandlePassivation was failing I see that the change to passivate in the invocation thread of control had the side affect of breaking the this testcase due to its use of a somewhat pathological MaxOne Stateful Session configuration that only allowed at most one active session. Because the testcase involved having one stateful session creat another, the original callee bean is forced out of the cache. This bean could not be passivated however, due to the outer call holding the session context lock. The simplification to the cache is worth not supporting this type of silly configuration, but its possible that other bizzare configuration/cache policies might see similar behavior so I'm mentioning it. There are still two annonying exception generated on shutdown of the server coming from the shutdown of the HypersonicDatabase service. [JBoss-dev] [ jboss-Bugs-713613 ] Unable to use declarative security with HTTP clustering

I can include an EAR if necessary. mike 14:18:29,541 WARN [jbossweb] WARNING: Exception for /opm/j_security_check java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: distributed attribute value must be Serializable,EJBObject,EJBHome,UserTransaction or Context: mjf860 at org.mortbay.j2ee.session.TypeCheckingInterceptor.setAt tribute(TypeCheckingInterceptor.java:76) at org.mortbay.j2ee.session.StateInterceptor.setAttribute (StateInterceptor.java:78) at org.mortbay.j2ee.session.AroundInterceptor.setAttribute (AroundInterceptor.java:198) at org.mortbay.j2ee.session.StateAdaptor.setAttribute (StateAdaptor.java:249) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.FormAuthenticator.authenticate d(FormAuthenticator.java:118) at org.mortbay.http.SecurityConstraint.check (SecurityConstraint.java:401) at org.mortbay.http.HttpContext.checkSecurityConstraints (HttpContext.java:1456) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHttpContext.checkSecuri tyConstraints(ServletHttpContext.java:137) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.WebApplicationHandler.dispatc h(WebApplicationHandler.java:235) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHandler.handle (ServletHandler.java:558) at org.mortbay.http.HttpContext.handle (HttpContext.java:1714) -- Comment By: Mike Finn (mikefinn) Date: 2003-04-02 00:01 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=418562 Sorry - version is branch_3_2 as of this afternoon. -- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detailatid=376685aid=713613group_id=22866 --- This SF.net email is sponsored by: ValueWeb: Dedicated Hosting for just $79/mo with 500 GB of bandwidth! [JBoss-dev] Anybody ever had problem with CMR when using PostgreSQL ?
I have 2 CMP entity beans that have one to many relationship. The "Many" side have a foreign key "user_id" that reference primary key in another table. If I declare the foreign key as both CMP and CMR fields, it works only with the default database, doesn't work with postgreSQL. postgresql will complain "duplicate field user_id" when create table or access table. if I declare the foreign key as CMR field only, it works with both database system. Is there a wayto make the postgresql work when I declare the field as both CMR and CMP ? regards
AW: [JBoss-dev] JDT compiler was: php5 is coming
Phil, others, There is even a more official batch interface to the eclipse compiler in the org.eclipse.jdt.core plugin which is much like the original Java compiler: package org.eclipse.jdt.internal.compiler.batch; public class Main implements ProblemSeverities { public Main(PrintWriter outWriter, PrintWriter errWriter, boolean systemExitWhenFinished) { ... } /* * Low-level API performing the actual compilation */ public boolean compile(String[] argv) { } /* * External API */ public static void main(String[] argv) { } } I experimented with it and it seems like this is not dependent on any other part of eclipse (jdtcore.jar is sufficient) and is working in 90% of the cases just as javac. But I also got a few additional warnings (import not used, etc - you know these from the eclipse task bar) and errors which I do not yet know exactly where they come from (Lacking -sourcepath? Other -target ?). So maybe this is just an issue in our environment. CGJ -Ursprüngliche Nachricht- Von: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Gesendet: Mittwoch, 2. April 2003 03:21 An: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Betreff: [JBoss-dev] JDT compiler was: php5 is coming JDT stands for Java Development Tools and is a subproject of the Eclipse framework. I looked through the source a bit and it looks like the main compiler class is org.eclipse.jdt.internal.compiler.Compiler. I found the source in my plugins directory of Eclipse (no additional download needed) under the directory org.eclipse.jdt.source_2.1.0/src in the jdtcoresrc.zip. The only problem is that this is an internal package which means that there is neither binary nor api contracts between releases. The Eclipse project committers seems to tend to try to open the API's to everyone once they stabilize, so if someone puts a little pressure on them, they might be willing to move this class out of the internal package. There is a method in the Compiler class with the signature: public void compile(ICompilationUnit[] sourceUnits) This looks like the method that would be most useful. The ICompilationUnit interface isn't the most basic interface in the world. There are quite a few methods, but a look through the compiler code may give clues to which methods are necessary. This interface doesn't really care where your java code came from so it would definately meet the criteria for an in memory compiler. The other obstacle is the constructor to the Compiler class. It requires quite a few interfaces to be fleshed out. The signature is: public Compiler(INameEnvironment environment, IErrorHandlingPolicy policy, Map settings, final ICompilerRequestor requestor, IProblemFactory problemFactory) It really doesn't look like this was meant to be used outside of the larger JDT framework, but might be worth the trouble if other alternatives don't look so good. -Phil Scott M Stark [EMAIL PROTECTED]To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent by: cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Re[2]: [JBoss-dev] php5 is coming ceforge.net 04/01/03 02:04 PM Please respond to jboss-development I don't know what JDT is. RB It can *at least* run command-line, since it provides an Ant adapter I've RB used with success. RB I just threw this in since the cocoon folks were looking into it, I am not RB actually familiar with RB its capabilities (except what you can see in eclipse). Re: [JBoss-dev] 3.2.0 Release
When its ready it will go out. There are a few issues that need to be addressed still. Re: Re[6]: [JBoss-dev] php5 is coming
Funny you mention this as your fave part cause most folks that do tons of JSP think this is one of the more evil parts of JSP... I think the nicest feature of JSP is the possibility to embed true java code whithin text : TABLETR % for (int i = 0;i 5;i++) { % TD%= i %/TD % } % /TR /TABLE This is what I want to do. All others things from JSP are not very much usefull within nukes. I've been browsing old website JSP and 95% of the time % % tags are used. julien -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Bill Burke Sent: Monday, March 31, 2003 10:52 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Re[4]: [JBoss-dev] php5 is coming I'd really prefer JSP integration or integration with some other popular Java based web scripting. mf JSP is clearly the way to go.
