As a developer, what disappoints me is to see a bug where the births after
2000 doesn't work at all. Wasn't that on the test plan? Did no one look at
all of the new statistics make sure each one was calculating correctly? I
think Legacy is a product worthy of better testing. Stepping down off

Version 8 did go through alpha testing. You are now all beta testers but don’t
realize it. The already announced version 9 will be the RTM final version
released to the public.

I once had a similar problem in Another Program; turned out
that I had touched the CTL key while the notes were open;
this created an invisible-to-the-naked-eye note in the
NOTES field, which insisted on printing. If it's printing
the program thinks there's a note, and if you don't think
so, you'll need to do as Jay suggests to remove what isn't
there.

Sort of.

I had a problem with one version of Legacy where duplicate sources were
created by the program by adding hidden format data to existing source
info that was visible on the preview screen. Could see it in the
preview, but if I opened the source notes, they were not visible. Once I
opened the source notes and closed the source in a later version of
Legacy, the hidden format data was removed, and then I had two identical
sources which could be merged. Strange things can happen when
programmers make mistakes!

The missing spaces between parent names is a known problem and is
recorded in our tracking system.

As others have suggested you probably have a non-visible character like
a space or blank line in the marriage notes so Legacy is including that
in your report.

Open the marriage notes and use CTRL-A to select all. Then hit the
delete button to remove the selected content.

When you look at Marriage notes on the screen, is the cursor at the very left
and top of the space? If you ever opened that screen page before, you may have
inadvertently hit the space bar or enter key. Nothing would show in the notes,
but there would be a space and extra line. Just a thought.
