[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68237] Crashing on File Save

2013-08-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68237

--- Comment #9 from The Ravin' mep...@gmail.com ---
IMPORTANT NOTICE! As someone new to LibreOffice, I'm discovering some of the
potential dangers of open-source. I had a request from a James to upload the
file I've been having problems with, so I did, thinking I was sending it to a
development team looking into this bug. However, I see now that open source bug
tracking appears to be from the global community, and the address for the
James I sent my file to is called spa...@gmx.net.

Then I got info from a Tommy27 (ba...@quip.it) that I should download a
portable version of LibO and try it. But the download attempted to install a
Profiler Trojan on my system (fortunately trapped by McAfee).

I'm pissed, and since I know that other people are having file save issues
similar to mine, if you hear from either of these people or if you receive
similar requests advice, DO NOT RESPOND!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63551] FORMATTING: Format cell dialogue in Calc wait very long (8 second) to pop up

 on bug 63551 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63551 from
 Ales mailto:ales.k...@gmail.com *
It' is (probably) font related (myabe not even a bug). I've solved problem by
removing texlive-fonts-{recommended,extra} and rebuilding fonts cache (sudo
fc-cache -f -v). Hope it helps, since I' new with bugs, should this be
 marked
 as resolved?

You are receiving this mail because:

   * You reported the bug.

I have followed the mentioned method and no luck for me.

1. I haven't install texlive-fonts-extra but I do have
texlive-fonts-recommended and I have uninstalled it.
2. No improvement. If there should be any minute improvement, say,
shorten the waiting time from 8 to 6 seconds before the menu popped up.
I believe this should come from updating the Libre Office to version 4.1.
3.From your suggestion, fonts might be the ultimate cause of the
problem. Since I am using Chinese system while Chinese font files size
are very big comparing to English one, I try uninstalled Chinese fonts
(total more than 200 fonts in my system), but still no luck. Another
trial that haven't made is reinstall the whole system and avoid
installing any texlive-fonts and software laTex. It is only a guess and
this would take time to do while I am too busy to do it now.
4. The font cache had been rebuilt every time I remove the fonts.

OS: Mac OS X (All)

Total word count should be 8 rather than 6; word count in selection should be 2
rather than 0.

The attachment is a screenshot of a document containing eight words two of
which are new (shown using recorded changes). However, the LO word count
shows only six words. Moreover, the selection contains these two new words,
but LO shows that there are no words in that selection.

@The Ravin'
please, take a deep breath and calm down.

X-LibreOffice is a serious project and is the official portable release from
the italian LibreOffice site: https://it.libreoffice.org/download/portatile/

I don't know why you received a trojan alert downloading it but I suspect it's
a false positive from your McAfee antivirus. I suppose you know what a false
positive means with antivirus software, right?

I have that version on my computer and Avast antivirus has no issue with it.

I can confirm this bug under Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS with LXDE/Openbox.

LibreOffice overrides all settings imposed on it by the window manager (window
placement under mouse). Even forcing the window position through an Openbox
config modification (position force=yes) does not work.

(In reply to comment #65)
I have not been able yet to loose the comments with these steps.

I lose the the comments as well if I use koukasio's sheet from comment 58 and
follow the described steps. After opening koukasio's sheet, the cursor is on
sheet 2 in cell A12. I insert a comment in this cell. It is lost after
following the steps in comment 58.

I use Windows 7 with 32-bit architecture (x86).

I assumed in comment 57 that the loss of grouping can be related with global
changes of cell formatting. I could not verify this suspicion with koukasio's
sheet. My assumption of comment 57 seems to be wrong.

so why don't you open that MS Word template directly with Writer and paste
content from Draw, then export as PDF?

Writer should be able to load .doc and .docx files, so I still don't see the
reason for using 2 different softwares while you can do the whole thing with
just one...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68315] EDITING: Crashes when changind data in a form to postgresql database through ODBC

2013-08-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68315

--- Comment #4 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de ---
I have now setup ODBC for postgresql on OpenSUSE 12.3 64bit. I could open the
folder public, could see the tables, but when I try to open the tables LO 4.*
crashes immediately. When I try the same with any 3.* version (have tested
3.3.4, 3.6.6.2 and 3.6.7.2) LO hangs and the whole KDE-windowmanager is very
slow.
The only way to get LO open a table of postgresql with ODBC is to use the
packages, which are packed by OpenSUSE itself. With this packages (LO 4.1.0.4)
I could see the content of the tables, could try a input, but it fails with an
error 7, query ... «)». So ODBC isn't usable with postgresql on my system at
all.
The direct connection between postgresql and the OpenSUSE-packages of LO is
running without problems.

Where do you get the packages from, when LO is working together with ODBC and
Postgresql?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68351] New: Bullet # or Letter Does Not Reset After New Heading

2013-08-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68351

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 68351
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Bullet # or Letter Does Not Reset After New Heading
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: jmadero@gmail.com
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 84355
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=84355action=edit
Sample File

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open writer
2. Write text on two lines (test and test 2)
3. Set text to Heading 2
4. Put cursor at end of line 1 (test)
5. Push enter to enter a new line
6. Start bullets/outline mode (use one of the bullet settings that have numbers
or letters not just points)
7. Write text after number 1 (or letter A, roman numeral I, w/e style you have
chosen)
8. Put cursor at end of line 3 (test 2)
9. Push enter
10. Start bullets/outline mode again

Result:
You'll see that the numbering does not reset as you would expect

Expected:
Numbering should restart at A, 1, or I depending on what mode you chose

This makes using outline mode within a long detailed document with multiple
headings/sub headings virtually impossible.

Marking as:
Normal: Can prevent high quality and/or professional quality work
High: makes outlines + headings impossible/useless

Attached: example file

Likely a dupe (I'd be shocked if not already reported) but a quick check and I
couldn't find one

If excel fails to open is this a LibreOffice bug?

Could you attach a sample document that produces the problem when saved as xlsx
file? That would be very helpful to verify this bug.

A Calc file showing the bug

Problem description:
Showing the Standard Deviation Error Bars on a XY Scatter Chart is not
possible. The Error Bars are do not show on the points and are all with an
equal size, clearly not dependant on the data point or any relevant data.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Take a random data set
2. Make a chart from the data set
3. Right-click on any point and select Insert Y Error Bars
4. Leave the default options to show the Standard Deviation of each point
5. Observe that the bars all appear at the same height in the center of the
chart and all with the same size.

Current behavior:
Not functional - explained in description
Expected behavior:
Standard Deviation Error Bars show be centered at the point they belong to and
should be of the relevant size according to the standard deviation of that
particular point.

Screen shot showing test cells of April 13, 1880 being skipped in series of
calculated cells.

Problem description: Was working with date calculations prior to 1900 and I
noticed a discrepancy within the year 1880. The date April 13 is missing, thus
any date calculations spanning this date are all off by one day. I do not know
if other dates are missing, but April 13 1880 is definitely missing.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Convert any cell to date format and enter the date of April 13, 1880. This
returns a result of April 12, 1880
2. Perform a date calculation such as April 12, 1880 + 1. The result of April
14, 1880 is returned.
3. Enter a date calculation of April 24, 1880 - 365, bearing in mind 1880 is a
leap year, and the result returned is April 24, 1879, instead of April 25,
1879.

Current behavior: April 13, 1880 is being skipped in calculations and reverting
to April 12, 1880 when entered directly.

Expected behavior: April 13, 1880 should show up and be able to be used in date
calculations, unless for some odd reason, the powers that be decided not to
have an April 13 in the year 1880.

To insert an image as a background, I click Insert Picture From File... and
select an image of a nice, subtle pattern for my budget spreadsheet.

However, my table is 536 cells long and growing, so the image ends pretty soon
after I scroll. My current solution to this is to edit the image in Seashore
and manually create a tiled mega-image of my original.

I was thinking it'd be nice if Calc gave me the option to tile the image, or
perhaps to freeze the image such that it doesn't move with the cells as I
scroll.

Inconvenience at most, but worth my time to write this enhancement bug out.

- postgresql-9.1 version 9.1.9-0ubuntu12.04

Client:
- Ubuntu 12.04 32bit
- odbc-postgresql version 1:09.00.0310-2

LO 3.6.6 installed manually from the libreoffice web page
- this combination works fine. The only reason I am installing manually from
the webpage is because of the report-builder package which is not included in
the Ubuntu12.04 version of LO. But before I noticed this I installed the
standard Ubuntu12.04 LO version (3.5 I believe) which also worked fine. All LO
3.x versions I have tried work equally well.

LO 4.0 (4.1 has the same problems as described in this bug report):
- deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/libreoffice/libreoffice-4-0/ubuntu precise main

What I have also noticed (in LO 3.x) is that accessing postgresql directly from
LO without going through ODBC doesn't work properly.
