Hello all,,,
I think it's a shame that Cara has to babysit grown men and women because
they act like babies! this takes a lot of energy from Cara who has an
illness! this is wrong!
I think you should let Carlyn do her part as moderator and give her some
teeth! Let her remove trouble-makers or put them on moderator status! This
means their posts don't reach the list unless the moderator approves!
It's a shame that people need to moderate adults who feel like throwing a
temper tantrum!

It detracts from those who want to learn.

Subject: MOderator Note - Please read

Hi All;

Firstly, Mark is due to post a mod note as well today, so I'll let him speak
for himself.

For myself, I want to first apologize for being away / quiet for several
weeks. The last two and a half or so have been taken up with quite the
persistent and annoying little illness. So I haven't been keeping touch with
the lists much.

HOwever, in the short time that I've had today to go through just the
scantest few posts, I've already seen enough to warrant this additional mod
note. So here goes.

Despite some speculations here about the purpose of the list being to drive
traffic to blogs or that the mods no longer care about the quality / rules
of the lists; let me just say that nothing could be further from the truth,
and frankly I'm simply amazed at the level of derision that some listers
have begun showing and sharing on this list.

-This is a mailing list; moderation teams change and grow all the time on
such lists and forums. This is no excuse to start rumors or mistreat
eachother. Just because a mod might not be there every single second of
every day, doesn't mean that the list guidelines and etiquette go out the
window.

Now please know, I'm not talking to new listers here, so much when I say
this, but really to those of you who have been around here a while, and who
ABSOLUTELY know better. If you want to trash the list, the people on it, or
the mods, then please, by all means, go right ahead, but for God's sake, do
it off the list! lol! Know what I mean?

Please seriously have just the slightest bit of courtesy for eachother and
for the list itself. If you no longer wish to be here, you know how to
leave. But please please please be adults and don't go ruining this valuable
resource for others whom may really like it or need it. That's not fair and
it's disrespectful in the extreme.

Regardless of whether we post list guidelines or not, I'm really talking
here about just plain, general, basic good ole' netiquette. Treat others as
you would like to be treated. YOu're all smart peeps here! YOu can do
this! -KNow what I mean?… :)

Now please; I'll be catching up on tons of email, please do treat eachother
with courtesy and respect?…

I thank you for your time and will get back with you soon.

Have a great day / evening, wherever you may be!…

Smiles,

Cara :)

In the New York times thursday edition of July 21, 2011, David Pogue stated

the problem has to do with Ical in an endless loop.

Hello Georges,

Scott answered your first two questions and I can answer the third,
regarding how to replace RAM in the Mac Mini. The process is quite simple
in the newer Mac Minis that were manufactured beginning in mid 2010,
which I assume is what you have purchased. The entire enclosure of the
recent Mini is aluminum with the exception of the large round plastic
foot that you will feel on the underside of the Mini. This plastic foot
is actually a cover that can be removed simply by turning it
counter-clockwise and lifting it off of the Mini. Assuming you have
washed your hands thoroughly and are now grounded to prevent static
electricity from damaging the internal components, you can feel around
inside the body of the Mini and you will find the RAM modules. They are
stacked on top of each other, so you will only feel one module at first.
It is held in place by two metal spring loaded clips, one on each side of
each RAM module. You gently expand these two clips and as you do so the
RAM module will pop up slightly. You can then gently pull on it to fully
remove it from it's socket. While you're doing this, you might want to
feel along the edge of the RAM module where it meets the socket in the
Mini. This might help you to understand how the RAM module fits into the
socket, and you'll need to know this when you attempt to insert your new
RAM modules because they can only be inserted correctly facing one
direction. Once you've removed the first RAM module you can feel the
second RAM module under it. It is removed using the same procedure.

Incidentally, RAM prices seem to be dropping at the moment and, in fact,
someone on another list posted a note saying that newegg.com has an 8 GB
RAM kit on sale today for US $50, but I haven't verified this and I'm not
sure if newegg.com is an option in your locale.

Re: transition from pc to mac

2011-06-08 Thread Isaac Obie

Hi Joanne,
the best way to learn is to just roll up your sleeves and do it on a daily
basis! don't put pressure on yourself by setting deadlines and obstacles.
Just do it daily.
when I wanted to learn MSDOS years ago, I just did it a little bit each day.
Before long I was doing nicely. And you will have to do the same.
Spend a little time with it each day. Learn the layout of programs. Learn
what to do in certain situations. Study how you tot to one point. then try
to figure out how to get back to the original point. Just a little at a time
each day is the best way to go.

All the best!

Re: multiple email accounts?

Hello Kliph,
You know, you can have a mailbox for each account. For example: I have onne
for Verizon, Gmail and Apple mail.
So you won't need to worry about which one to answer first. Just go to the
different mailboxes and answer all the mail there. You seem to be quite
active in your imac. If you're near an Apple store perhaps you would benefit
from the one-to-One program. I think you would have a ball and I think
you'd learn quickly. You can pearn different programs as you go. You can
have as many lessons as you can handle. but it's all dependent upon whether
there's an Apple store near you.

windows, the curser is directly beneath each character you right, on the Mac,
the curser is immediately to the right of each character you type. think, if
you will, of the old electric typewriter. On an electric typewriter, as you
will recall, the typing ball causes a letter to be typed and then moves over to
the right to type the next character. Well, the Mac curser's behavior is
rather more like that old typing ball than a windows curser. if, for example,
you type the word apple as soon as you type the letter a, the Mac curser will
be found just to the right of that letter a. This will allow you to type the
p, just like the old typewriter ball. What you are seeing is not a
characteristic of Voiceover, rather, it's a fundamental difference in how the
Mac handles curser movement for everyone. So, to get back to the apple
example, let's say you put in too many p's. How to get rid of the third p?

IF you use command+left, this should put you back at the beginning of the
line; and, assuming you've typed the word apple at the beginning of this
line, the word also. IF the word is in the middle of the line, just use
VO+left or right till you locate the beginning of the word. Now, move the
curser right letter by letter. IF, IF you have the curser moving to the right
and you hear, space, followed by a, that tells you that the curser is now
just to the right of the letter a and is in place to either delete that A or
type another letter to the right of that a. So, now, you want to find that
extra p in apple. Just press the right arrow till you hear that third p
spoken. Now, press the delete or backspace key. Here's what you just did.
When you moved to the right of that second p, you heard the third p and were
then to the right of it. Now, when you backspaced over that third p, you
caused the curser to behave just like the self-correcting key on an electric
type
writer. The curser deleted that third p and then moved in to it's position
so that now, the curser is just to the left of the l and to the right of the
second p in the word apple.

What, pray tell, has that to do with the curser position and movement? It
must be remembered, (for the benefit of y'all who are or may perhaps still be
new to the Mac world), that the Mac curser itself moves in a different way to
the windows curser. See my earlier message for an analysis.

All that does is cause Voice Over to always show you what is to the right
of the curser. It WILL, NOT, make the Mac curser move like the windows curser.
You must remember, even if you choose this option, the Mac curser is still the
Mac curser.

windows, the curser is directly beneath each character you right, on the Mac,
the curser is immediately to the right of each character you type. think, if
you will, of the old electric typewriter.

IF you use command+left, this should put you back at the beginning of
the line; and, assuming you've typed the word apple at the beginning of this
line, the word also.
Now, when you backspaced over that third p, you
caused the curser to behave just like the self-correcting key on an electric
type
writer. The curser deleted that third p and then moved in to it's
position so that now, the curser is just to the left of the l and to the right
of the second p in the word apple.

Hello Brandt,
I have two computers on my desk and one has no floppy drive. there's a n
occassional need to transfer a single file between the two units. I use a
thumbdrive for this.
I use the same thumbdrive to transfer files between my pc and macbook. So I
am already using jthis format.. I don't spend a lot of time debating which
format to use. I just use what's handy and this is the simplest method at
the present. It's certainly cheaper than putting a single file on a cd to
transfer it.

I have to agree with Ricardo. There are risks no matter what form of
commerce you engage in, but digital commerce is generally more secure and
efficient. APple would not have gone in this direction if it was not a
benefit to them and their customers.
Sony screwed themselves and in all fairness and as I have always said,
any computer connected to a network is subject to being hacked. The issue
is really being on top of your systems and always watching for these
issues. THis does apply to companies as well as individuals.

be surprised in 2 years, if all macbooks follow the air and get rid of

I don't think digital distribution will take over CD's or DVD's just
yet. I know most of you don't play video games, but if you heard it on
the radio, you'd know that Sony's Playstation Network has been down for
the past month. As it was down, people were concerned about identity
thef, because the reason why it was down is because someone hacked into
the network. So if you ask me, it'll take more than 2 years for digital
distribution to take effect. I wouldn't be surprised if someone hacks
into Itunes or the App Store.

As the thumb drive is much smaller than the retail boxers previously
used for Mac OS X, money will be saved on packaging as the thumb drive
is much smaller, this will also result in more copies being able to be

webmaster contacted me to tell me that they have had problems with mac
and safari and their form. He also told me that since i had so much
trouble with their form that he was going to post my ad for me. I just
had to email the text and photos. furthermore, he decided to post the ad
for free for a year which amounted to a $44 savings. I checked this
morning and sure enough my ad was number one on the australian amusements

Hello, Isaac,
First I want to thank you for bringing this informative article to our
attention. I am considering a new computer at some time around the end
of the summer and will think about a MAC because of this article. My
only question is whether there is a program similar to the Finale for
Windows and the Braille plug-in which will allow a blind user to turn a
midi file into Braille music. I would be glad if someone would let me

Agreed. The air is a really nice machine. If you have the means and
wouldn't mind a slightly larger machine though, I hardily recomamnd the 13
inch air with the faster cpu and twice the capacity of the ssd. I have the
13 inch air with the 128 gig ssd and 4 gb ram and it is screaming fast for

Hi,
Are you thinking of maccessibility.net? They're still around, as far as I

past while.
I agree, a compendium of accessible games for the Mac would be very nice.
There are quite a few for the iPhone, but the closest thing to a
compendium for the Mac I know if is the Mac section of www.pcsgames.net.
THere is, naturally, a much larger Windows section.
Unfortunately, my own search for accessible games for Mac has been largely
fruitless thus far. I'll keep the list posted if I find anything.

Best,

Handy Tech Braille Support for Apple Portible Devices

Subject: Handy Tech Braille Support for Apple Portible Devices

Hello Folks,

with the release of Apple's iOS 4.21 the Handy Tech Braille displays are
supported via Bluetooth. Now you have access to your iPod Touch, iPad and
iPhone (3 GS and 4).

all models of Braille Wave and Braille Star 40 equipped with Bluetooth are
supported. With Easy Braille and Braillino you need to update the
Bluetooth chip if your product was manufactured prior to the following
serial numbers:

Braillinos from serial number 09308
Easy Brailles from serial number 09124.

Previously, the BraillIno and EasyBraille used a bluetooth chip that was
and still is well supported by several Windows screen readers and devices;
however, for reasons too complicated to go into here, Apple has elected
not to support this module at this time.

United States and Canadian Customers who have a BraillIno or EasyBraille
with the older module may now have these devices updated to the newer
Bluetooth module for $300. If you are not interested in using your
BraillIno or EasyBraille with one of the Apple portable devices, the
update is not necessary.

As always, please feel free to contact Handy Tech North America at:

651-636-5184

or by e-mail at:

i...@handytech.us

should you have any questions about the Bluetooth update or any of the
adaptive technology solutions we offer.

Suggestion, buy a usb hub. Models have as many as 8 ports available. Plug
that into one of those two ports and if you have another $20, buy another
hub and plug the second one into the other usb port on the computer.
Power those up, and now your computer has 16 usb ports. Staples sells

battery life. Unfortunately they really only became commercially viable
this year, so the prices are still a bit out there. It's my work computer

the past. I'm hoping work will get too busy for me to sit at home keeping
books and preping lessons, smile.

Hi Sarai,
Sounds like a fun time. If you do consider mounting an iMac on your wall,
here are a couple of things I learned about the process:
1. Regardless of the wall mount you choose, you will need to purchase
Apple's VESA mounting adapter kit for the iMac. I think it currently costs
around US $30. I used to have Apple's 24 inch LED display and found it
pretty simple to remove the existing stand and install the VESA adapter.
The adapter kit included the tools necessary to remove the existing stand
and attach the VESA adapter.
2. If at a future time you decide to remove the iMac from the wall and put
it on a desk, it is pretty simple to remove the VESA adapter and
re-install the original imac stand.
3. The current model of the smaller 21.5 inch iMac does not have the same
VESA mounting capabilities found in the larger 27 inch iMac model.
Apparently it is not possible to remove the existing stand from the 21.5
inch model without performing major warranty-voiding iMac surgery. I think
there is a 3rd party vendor who sells a wall mounting kit for the 21.5
inch iMac that works with the existing stand still attached.

HTH,
Bryan

In pdas and notepooks if you find power management that is where you turn

Re: speakers for the i-phone/mb pro.

2010-11-12 Thread ISAAC OBIE

Hello Chenelle,
Speakers are a personal choice. I think it's best to go listen to them.
I like a set from the Apple store called Bowser and wilkins mm1 but alas!
they cost $595!
So I can't have them on my budget.

but then there's a set of Bose and those are only $99!

So I can't recommend a thing!

Best to go to electronic stores and look and listen...

Re: Microsoft Office 2011 period

2010-10-26 Thread ISAAC OBIE

Hello folks,
Why are you folks wasting so much valuable time and bandwidth with Microsoft
bashing? It doesn't change a thing! Will the moderators have to step in
again and say let's get on with Mac issues and stop the Microsoft bashing?
Besides, with as much money as Microsoft has, I find it hard to believe that
a certain individual can buy them off with a million dollars or even nine
million. What's nine million against thirty eight billion?

Let's stop the bashing..

Unm it's not Bill's fault though.

A big part of the reason that Microsoft doesn't have native accessibility
is the way a subset of the blind community handled accessibility and MS
years back. There were a whole series of payoffs and backroom dealings
that took place on behalf of some organizations who make money by selling
3rd party tools. Microsoft truth be told wanted to include a screen
reader with the OS and make their tools accessible but found again a
certain subset protesting on their front door as a result. (because they
were paid off by a certain screen reader company founder to do so to the
tune of 7 figures) This same subset still writes hit pieces against Apple
today because they do not get a cut of the Apple accessibility pie.

Don't think I defend Microsoft unconditionally, I generally hate their
products and their developers come from the back of the class but in this
case at least your anger is a bit misdirected.

I won't detail the specifics here because it's only tangentially ontopic
and it ruffled a few feathers of folks on this list who benefits from the
status quo.

more than their pc computers. I want to put a blind fold over his eyes

Hi aIsac,

You can do one of two things. You can copy and paste them and edit them that
way. You can also save each message as an individual file by hitting Command
Shift S. I do this sometimes for messages that won't copy for some reason
even after I highlight the text. I hope this helps. Thank you for all your
assistance on the Braillino. I'm loving it.

Hi all,

I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday afternoon. I was just curious about
something. I just tried to look at my recently downloaded podcasts, as I am
subscribed to several feeds, I wanted to go through them indivudually. I
recently updated to the newest version of Itunes, and cannot figure out how
to jump to specific podcast feeds. It appears as a table instead of a list
view. In the previous version of Itunes, I was able to sleect the podcast
from the podcasts list by pressing VO and right arrow. Now all I can do is
interact with the table. What am I doing wrong? Any assistance you could
give me would be much appreciated. Thank you so much, and have a great day.

Hi Isaac,

Sure first, the Sprint overdrive is about 60 per month. That's pretty
reasonable especially if you're in a 4G enabled city. The plan has
unlimited 4G service so no cap, 3G is capped at 5GB per month.

I commute over an hour each way every day so to me this is valuable time.
If you don't travel much and already have broadband you might not be able to
justify the cost. I really like the device though and get a lot of milage
out of it.

As for the IPod, I love the interface. The touch screen is very intuitive
to use once you get the hang of it. Tracking of the movements is very good
and it is easy to use one handed unlike many phones.
With apps like live365, iI-Heart-Radio and many others you can stream all
the audio you want in clean stereo audio instead of over the air. I also
find I listen to a lot of content not available on the air either because
it's treamed only or because it's outside the local area. The only thing
I've used my standard radio for recently is listening to John Miller on the
Giants radio network.:) My understanding is I can get an MLB app and get
the same audio, I assume there's a fee for that. I have not tried this

Things like the web browser are pretty good and most apps are accessible.

How's that?

Re: Mac question

2010-10-21 Thread ISAAC OBIE

Hi Claus,
The reason why I disabled Airport is because if I don't it will be searching
for a connection and I don't have a connection that it needs to find at
home. I have one in class. But when I leave class and go home, I don't want
Airport searching for a connection and thus possibly messing up my
connection to a wired network. It seems to work better with a wired
connection for now until I become a more advanced Apple user. Try disabling
Airport and see how your connection goes. the idea to turn off Airport was
mine, seconded by my instructor.

Isaac,

Yes I bought mine too. I Use PC at work but at home I wanted a mbP.
it was cheaper than the Dell I bought after Hurricane Katrina (OK I
know computers have gone down in price in yes - 5 years). JFW and I
were having some bumps in the road. New owners for Feedom
Scientific I just do not know what the future holds and Apple has
demonstrated a strong commitment to the off the shelf product.

At risk of sounding like a advertisement I want to use it off the
shelf. A year with my Iphone and playing with my other's computer and
I thought it was worth the $$$. Then I bought it on a back to school
special as he is taking classes (OK so I will likely help him just in
case there is trouble... grin) and they threw in a printer which my
other spent the day networking his computer to and a I touch which
became the nicest birthday gift I ever gave my sister.

I am not a computer person and can use my Mac to do most things. Two
months into it I am in a better place than I was in 95 when I returned
to undergrad with a PC and a new Windows screen reader. I have a lot
to learn and this list has been much help.

Isaac - much like a phone a computer is pretty standard these days. I
wonder if as access becomes the norm if it will fall under assistive
technology as in the Rehab act. Having just completed a job with
vocational rehab (and yes vocational does mean employment in
Louisiana) I am keenly aware of the pending adjustment.

Sorry for the rant - but if I can buy a product that meets my needs
without a third party application I will.

Now once I land in my new home and new job which will likely have a
desk, phone, chair, sofa and PC then I will have to ponder the more
serious question of how much do I not want to use a PC at work. My
immediate guess is I need the job enough to use whatever screen reader
will work with whatever machine they provide.

For items like braille displays I hope there will always be some
assist. Having worked non profit, profit and government jobs they are
an awful lot for me to expect my employer to buy.
Again sorry for going so very off topic.- like the Barefooted Ray I am
proudly using my off the shelf Mac.

Hello Isaac,

The FN key modifies the actions of the function keys. By default, the
Function keys control hardware functions: volume, brightness, etc.
VoiceOver uses the function keys for software purposes and having to press
the FN key in addition to the VO keys adds an unnecessary level of
complication, which is why most of us make the change to the use of the FN
key.

The FN key is also used on a laptop keyboard with the arrow keys to get
the Home, End, Page Up and Page Down functions.

Cheers,

Anne

Hi Samuel,

I was thinking about your predicament as I read your post. Is it possible
you could look for a used display instead of shelling out the thousands it
would cost to purchase a new display? Just a thought. I find that my
reading ability only increased when I started reading more. I have been
blind since I was three-years-old, I don't know if that helps. But I think
if your eye condition is gdegenerative, having a Braille display will open
up a whole new tactile world to you. Do you want a notetaker or just a
Braille display? THe displays without the notetaking capability are much
less expensive. I've heard that APH makes a nice display, with concave
cells. I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Handytech Braillino. I
hope I have helped. I also read with my left hand almost exclusively. I have
calluses on my hand from guitar and started using it more and more often to
combat the calluses. Now my left is more sensitive than the right. Have a
wonderful day.

I'm also left handed, which i think contributes to a poor reading

Any suggestions, do I shell out that much money and risk not using the

Not yet, I'm still waiting for it to be shipped. My BrailleNote works with

I think with the Braillino it will be even better. I'm anxiously awaiting
the arrival of the Braillino counting down the days!

But I
think if your eye condition is gdegenerative, having a Braille display
will open up a whole new tactile world to you. Do you want a notetaker or
just a Braille display? THe displays without the notetaking capability are
much less expensive. I've heard that APH makes a nice display, with
concave cells. I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Handytech
Braillino. I hope I have helped. I also read with my left hand almost
exclusively. I have calluses on my hand from guitar and started using it
more and more often to combat the calluses. Now my left is more sensitive
than the right. Have a wonderful day.

speed is so slow, that it's hard to justify paying 3-4 thousand

I'm also left handed, which i think contributes to a poor reading

Any suggestions, do I shell out that much money and risk not using the

of improvement?

Re: braille display

2010-10-18 Thread Isaac Obie

Hi,
You don't need a braille display to improve your reading speed. You could
always get a braille book or braille magazine and find good reading
mateials! there's ESPN the Magazine, PC World, the computer magazine,
There's a chess magazine, there're various other magazines and books to be
had from your local library.
Heck, I didn't improve my reading speed with a braille display. I used
braille books.

Actually, if my reading speed were 50 words per minute, i could get
the state government here in Texas to buy one for me, but that's the
whole stalemate thing. I don't improve my reading speed because
there's nothing good to read, I could undoubtedly improve it with a
braille display, but I don't think I can afford to buy one myself.

if you'd like, as there are a lot of great minds here, perhaps we can go

-Yes, you and I chatted a bit about some possibilities, and perhaps others

this would actually be quite beneficial for all of us, as I don't think

So a little re-hash of all of the cool ways we can go about specific tasks

Hi Neil,

Correct. If your in an application or web page and someone gives you the
physical placement of an item, you can find it on the track pad which
gives

you the layout similar to what a sighted person sees on the screen. Just
like on the iPhone. This leads me into my comment. I don't think moving
your hand from a keyboard to a trackpad to a number pad necessarily makes
you slower. For example, If I'm in iTunes and I want to reach an item
using JFW I might have to tab 4, 5, maybe 6 times. If I know the layout
of
iTunes on a Mac, I can just touch that location on my track pad. If your

this
can really clear some communication hurdles. I thought just like you when
I

first made the switch. Why do I have to press 4 keys to accomplish the
same task the only took 1 finger with Jaws? And it annoyed me. But then
I

realized that the number of keys 1 must press doesn't have a direct
relationship to speed and or productivity. I also didn't like the concept
of interacting with elements. This is before I completely understood it's
advantages. Again, I use iTunes as an example. If you have your IOS
device

hooked up to your windows PC you go to the sources list and arrow down to
your device. Same with the Mac. Then, on Windows, you tab and tab and
tab.

Re: Turning sound back on

2010-10-09 Thread Isaac Obie

Hello Ronald,
I found it under audio in voiceover help menu, but it's only a toggle. I
can't find the command for turning it on again. I once had this problem and
I solved it by going up and down that list in braille... Perhaps Anne
Robertson or Ester can help us out here.

Re: voiceover manual for IOS4?

2010-10-05 Thread Isaac Obie

Hi all,
Bookshare has many of David Pogue's books, but I am not finding any of them
useful at all. I see no mention of voiceOver in them at all. I find them
boring and really useless. the best I've found thus far is that voiceOver
getting started manual or user guide and that's really a feference more than
a manual.

I wish there was an easy way to convert pdf files to text

Dear All,
I agree with Erik: where is David Pogue's blind twin brother who could
write us a missing manual for vo? Is there a way to create a
macvisionaries wiki where people could contribute to a set of how-
to's, maybe by beginning with a list of FAQs? I realize that
macvisionaries archives probably contains a lot of valuable info, but
wouldn't it be great to have the wisdom collected in one place and
updated? I'd be happy to help in such an effort, with my main
contribution being an endless string of pathetic newbie questions.
But we all have to start somewhere, right?

For more immediate help, Robert Carter of the Tech Doctor podcasts
directed me to Mike Arrigo's podcasts on the ipod touch and vo at
Blind Cool Tech: http://www.blindcooltech.com/

Best,
cathyk

This seems to be what I'm after, but it renders a page not found error.

I did some googling and found a snippit of documentation which basicly
outlined the voiceover gestures and nothing else. I have so many very
basic newbie questions that any public forum will soon grow weary of
answering them, so maybe I will try for the PDF manual.

 Hi Erik,

There are two places to check for a manual on the iPod Touch. First,
there should be an iPod Touch User's Guide listed under the Safari
bookmarks of your iPod Touch. If you synched your bookmarks and overrode
the default definitions you can add the URL:

http://help.apple.com/ipodtouch/
to your bookmarked locations (you only need to type in
help.apple.com/ipodtouch/ and this address only works from an iPhone
or iPod Touch. Anywhere else (on an iPad, or on your computer), you'll
be taken to the Apple Support pages where you can find some link to a
PDF version of the user guides.

The more useful accessible HTML version of the iPhone User Guide (that
you can access from anywhere) is at:

http://help.apple.com/iphone/4/voiceover/
(There's no special accessible HTML version for just the parts that
 works for the iPod Touch)

Also, note the AppleVis web site for more information:
http://applevis.com/

A nice summary of the iOS 4 Apple Keyboard shortcuts may be found at:
http://www.hllf.net/70
if you use a Bluetooth keyboard with your iPod Touch.

 HTH. Cheers,

 Esther

OK guys, I've got my first ipod touch here. I can navigate around the
screen, open apps and folders, sort of type on the slide type keyboard
and so on. Not bad for an hour or two fiddling, but I need a manual or
something, even if it stinks like the voiceover manual for Mac OS 10.6.
Anybody know where I can get this?
