True, I didn’t look that closely. An AMG S320? I’m thinking not. Around here S320s struggle with competition from the big boys (S500/600) and don’t seem to command the prices the higher displacement models do. Occasionally you’ll come across a really nice one like my GoodFellows seller had that justifies a higher price, but for the most part they’re beaters. There definitely seems to be more of them than the larger displacement cars, however. I never realized this until I started shopping. I haven't pulled the trigger on any yet, but the Carfax Used Car Sales tool seems to be pretty well done. Lots of ways to dial in the search and a lot of cars available BTW. I like the guide that says if the prices are above or below the book price. Does anyone now if the 94 to 99-ish E class wagons came with a diesel? If they did, I'm not having any luck finding them... If you met up with a real Hochstetter, they could get you for not following the rules on your riding lawnmower or tractor in a field. The regs are not limited to commercial vehicles. Lets say you have a camper or motorhome and you have a CDL. The regs apply when you drive the motor home too, and it is subject to the same regs as a semi because you have a CDL. If they want to fine you to meet their quotas, they will, even if they have to break a light to be able to collect a fine. The bluejackets can get you anywhere, anytime, for anything. (in this region DOT Enforcers are called bluejackets as opposed to the state peetrol who wear brown.) (there official name is DOT Enforcement, so they literally are Enforcers. They are in business for the same reason as mafia enforcers. I would have to plead guilty to that...just the part of knowing what they look like...from when I worked at the northern border near a big truck stop. I was incredulous (that someone would pay...or even come to within touching distance) when some of the women who came through were identified by fellow officers as truck stop prostitutes. I don't think any state will let you do that any more. the CDL is based on the mfg tag. So a truck built before the CDL came in that were rated 26,500 requires a CDL. I think the CDL law required the states to register at the GVW rating. At least I have not seen any ton rating license stickers since the CDL came in. I had Chauffeurs license rated for straight trucks and busses before the CDL law came in. I was going to get a CDL, but then i looked at the rules and then decided NO! I grew up not far from a very large truck stop on the south side of Indianapolis. There were a couple of “trailers” along the back edge of the parking lot, at which we would often throw rocks at until the residents would come out, yelling at us.
