out too much (but I have *no* idea how to fix this). b) I'd like the images to be aligned on the bottom of their square, not top (so that the artist image is nearer the text - most artist mages are not square, so there is a gap between the image and text). Probably just some CSS magic for this bit. But you're requesting square images right now, aren't you? Where you able to find the problem? I'm sorry to say I haven't found time to play with this yet. Haven't even un-earthed the Chromecast Audio I should have around somewhere... Now what I have observed is a very different problem which is, with large buffers and on-line streaming services, the HTTP connection to acquire track n+1 can start very early but then stall for a pretty long time while track n is still being played (client uses TCP flow control and does not query more data from my bridge). Some services then think that something wrong happened with track n+1 because you started to GET it, but then stalled for an amount of time which is way more than the expected playback duration of what has been downloaded, so they assume that the client has a problem and then close the connection. I can change it so > that volume is sent past 100%, but not sure this is really a valid > scenario. Yep - does sound a bit mixed up, but when a Classic's volume is set fixed at 100% you normally control the volume via the stereo it's plugged into. If you send the Classic which has it's volume fixed at 100% a volume up or down command the actual volume from the Classic doesn't change, but we can intercept the LMS command to trigger an external infrared command via the IR Blaster plugin to change the stereo volume. The default Logitech player web-interface always sends a Volume-up command even when the Classic volume is set at 100% - but the web display always shows the volume bar full to 100%. So, as per your Edit - I need a volume up command to be issued, even when we're at 100%. Probably don't want to change the % that is displayed (it will probably return to 100% anyway next time you retrieve the current volume from the player - it does this if I turn the volume down via Material, the displayed volume % will drop, but after 0.5 seconds it will return to being displayed as 100% as I assume it gets refreshed/retrieve from the player's current volume setting.) Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
I'm running Material 0.1.0 against a couple of SB Classics that have their volume controls fixed at 100% in LMS. (I control the volume via my stereo using the IRBlaster plugin that issues Volume up/down infrared to stereo when LMS receives Volume up/down commands) Under Material this works fine in the Manage Players dialog screen. The volume bar sits at 100%, but I can still volume up/down and the commands go through to LMS (and therefore IR blaster) On the Volume Pop-over (?) dialog screen, the volume bar sits at 100%, I an do a volume down and it goes through to LMS, but the volume ups don't appear to work. Maybe there's slightly different volume up handling code in there than your Manage Player dialog, but it's as if the Volume Up is not being issued if volume is at 100%. Is it possible to change these so it's the same as volume handling on Manager Players? Paul Webster wrote: > It looks like your LMS box is having problems either resolving DNS names > or reaching the Internet. > > Has anything changed in your networking setup recently? - e.g. a new > router Agreed, it does seem like that's potentially the cause, but the symptom is similar to what I had some months back when there was a bug (relating to my SB Classic) that would cause loading of playlists to hang until I turned off the power to the SB Classic using the soft button via the "Web Control" page. Once I turned the SB Classic back on using this soft button, then things worked well for as long as I used the system, until I didn't play any music for several hours, then I'd have the same issue again of things hanging. To check if these steps could help me overcome this issue today, I just turned the SB Classic off/on using the web control soft button and also opened the open Spotify player in web browser (open.spotify.com) on the same box running the LMS server and logged in and played a song using that open spotify player. After doing both of the above, now things are acting normally and as expected in every way...wondering if there could have been a regression of that months old bug that I discussed with Michael or if all this is just some one-off issue that won't return...I'll know sometime soon, after I let the system sit for a couple hours without playing music and then try to use it again. And to answer your question: no, nothing has changed from network perspective recently. Thanks, Paul, for your response, I appreciate it. And in what way does what I have proposed not solve this? I currently now have: Genres - Classical - - Albums - - - Album A - - - Album B - - Artists - - - Artist A - - - - Album A etc. What it was/is with current webUI Genres - Classical - - Artist A - - - Album A - - Artist B - - ... - - Artist Z - - All Albums Surely adding the Artist/Albums choice at the top is actually easier? As in you do not need to skip past all artist to get to the albums list. cpd73's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66686 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

We have a huge collection of Various Artists albums, and w/out the All Albums item, there's no way to conveniently go down into a certain genre, and see the collection of albums that belong to that genre. The list of artists is enormous and essentially useless for us, so then too is the entire Genre category. We've lived with the All Albums item being at the end of the list forever; its not the optimal area for us, but at least its there and makes possible what would otherwise be impossible. Another vote for considering it, please. There was an issue with WIndows version that I corrected yesterday. This is good because v0.x appears have issues with some recent CC firmware dates? (at least that's my speculation from other issues that popped up recently) One issue: I'm unable to get the Transcode option working. The CCA does not play audio, and LMS quickly skips from one track to the next through the entire playlist. Not a big deal. I'm just happy my CCA is working again. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Thanks very much. I look forward to seeing the next release. The use of the system is very personal, dependant on set up I guess. For me, I would much refer emphasis to be on album which mostly corresponds in my library to Work. The track is important but more so in the context of the album. Each to their own! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Syncing Philips Hue Lights with music : plugin needed.
Well, actually I started trying to implement something like that. Up to now I got that far that I got a bridge working getting the sound stream based on philippe44's bridges (thanks!) and got the software connect to a hie system. The thing I am struggliing right now is analyzing the sound and steering the light. Both seems to work, but it lags concerning bein in sync to the music. Therefore, I lag of knowledge. If anyone could provide that and help I could provide the code pieces... For example, if I search by genre for, > say, Baroque, All Albums would show all albums with a baroque tag. I don't like these "All Songs" / "All Albums" entries - find them weird. (As an aside, I used miniDLNA (UPNP server) for a while, and edited its code to remove similar items). But, perhaps for Genres what I could do is instead of listing the Artists, provide a choice. e.g Genres - Classical - - Artists - - - list artists of genre (this would be what is currently shown immediately under Genres) - - Albums - - - list albums of genre - Rock ...etc... Adding an option to show "All Abums", etc, is possible but; a) its yet another option, b) I then need to keep track of which lists it applies to (which adds more complexities to an already complex piece of code). cpd73's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66686 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
