Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin
Thanks, when playing online songs from spotify and qobuz, I am now seeing all the lyrics! Between the M Info plugin and Material Skin, I'd say that LMS has one of the very best interfaces for listening to and learning about artists and songs. Michael, the AZlyrics website certainly does not have any restrictions on use, other than the statement "All lyrics provided for educational purposes and personal use only." Do you have any concerns about LMS usage of this lyrics site (and if yes, would you like me to followup with them on this usage)? favmusic's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68881 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99537 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The 1.6.3.1 version works aorund this speciual case. There is a second special case so even when using 1.6.3.1 there are few programs that will not play. I hope to produce a 1.6.4 (to inldue 1.6.3.1 and fix the other case) so that all user will upgrade via the "main" repo URL and the URL for the test repo will then be removed - so you will have a problem when that happens and you should then revert back to the main repo URL. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109826 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin
First, Michael, thanks so much for your quick updates (and all your work in general)! Well... that obviously was a bit too quick. Started to work on this around 9:30pm and wanted to get to bed quickly... I should have known better... I just updated M Info plugin to v1.3.1 (not 1.3.0)? I tested some As soon as I had released 1.3.0 I deployed it to my Linux based main machine - and immediately experienced how badly it behaved when the target lyrics folder was write protected... Plus I missed to implement it in all the places needed etc. v1.3.1 was the quickest bugfix release I ever did. 1.3.0 was only out for about 30 minutes :-D. v1.3.2 has some internal re-factoring (to make sure I implement all the various paths the same way), plus improved caching. spotify and qobuz streams, there were a couple of songs I tested (for example, Norah Jones Stuck from the album The Fall) that did not return lyrics. I then tried to search Chart Lyrics web UI, and they didn't have them, but when I tried AZlyrics, the web UI did present the correct lyrics. So is there a tweak or two still needed for your new searches that include AZlyrics? Plus hopefully improved search, too: in some cases I would have gotten a valid, but empty response from ChartLyrics. In this case I would not have fallen back to AZLyrics. This should be improved in 1.3.2. What about this source ?https://github.com/rhnvrm/lyric-api Lyrics is kind of a grey zone busines... there are many providers, with different strengths and weaknesses. I'll see how well the current two do. Web site scraping is, as I said many times before, an ugly job I try to avoid as much as possible. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

1) if I have a .lrc file along with a similarly named .flac file MAI will use that 2) if no such file exists MAI will look in its .txt store and if a file exists will use that 3) if no .txt file exists in the store MAI will look online and if successful will display the lyrics AND write a .txt file into the store for future use That's correct. If this logic is correct then I agree with Craig that for browsing (and editing to correct mistakes or encoding errors) the .txt store needs to be organised a bit more. v1.3.2 is on the way to you. @Michael does it make much difference in the programming or could this be a user selectable option? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin
Thanks for the folder definition support. I note that it stores all files in the one folder ($artist - $title.txt). Could you not create sub-folders for each artist? This would make it easier to browse. e.g. $artist/$title.txt Not a massive issue for me - I only have ~12,500 tracks - but I do think this'd be nicer. That's in v1.3.2 - I didn't implement any automatic migration. You might want to start over from scratch and clean up the folder. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Extras menus are taken from the web interface in the order supplied by BBC and since it is from web it is has 30 day content or possibly more for some programs. BBC iPlayer uses a XML feed intended for 3rd parties - it is limited to 7 days. Podcasts only broadcasts (e.g. infinitie mokey cage) need test version of BBCiPlayer 1.6.3.1. I have another release due to fix another few special cases which BBC called "shortened" so hopefully soon 1.6.4 will be available There may be other special cases I don't know about which means if you see a program which doesn't appear on a plugin menu or doesn't play - yet appears & plays on BBC browser player - please tell me. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110254 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
The squeezelite-win exe is still created on my winxp build system as I've been unable to compile the ffmpeg decoder library on the win7 build VM. XP was known to have unicode issues. Just laziness on my part as I could just compile ffmpeg on XP and move the libs to win7. It's really time to move it all to win10 but the last time I tried to compile squeezelite on VS2013 it didn't work. All that aside, the unicode device name handling is happening in portaudio but squeezelite is using 'a simple printf to list the device names returned' (https://github.com/ralph-irving/squeezelite/blob/master/output_pa.c#L78). Unfortunately, all my build systems are currently offline as I'm in the process of moving the VMware host server to a new data centre so I can't easily test using a win32 api call to display the device list instead, for a another week or so but that's likely at least part of the problem. I'd like to work together to fix this in squeezelite, if that's truely where this issue exists, instead of a work around in slx, if possible. Is this from 'My Music' or elsewhere (e.g. Spotty). How did you browse to the album? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin
Before Michael goes too far down the road on this can we clarify something. My understanding of the proposed logic is 1) if I have a .lrc file along with a similarly named .flac file MAI will use that 2) if no such file exists MAI will look in its .txt store and if a file exists will use that 3) if no .txt file exists in the store MAI will look online and if successful will display the lyrics AND write a .txt file into the store for future use If this logic is correct then I agree with Craig that for browsing (and editing to correct mistakes or encoding errors) the .txt store needs to be organised a bit more. There is a further debate to be had here. Artist/Track organisation will allow the same .txt file to be used where the track appears in multiple albums whereas an Artist/Album/Track structure will more than likely exactly mirror a users library and make things very easy to find. The cost of the latter over time being increased storage only? @Michael does it make much difference in the programming or could this be a user selectable option? Could you not create sub-folders for each artist? This would make it easier to browse. e.g. $artist/$title.txt Not a massive issue for me - I only have ~12,500 tracks - but I do think this'd be nicer. cpd73's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66686 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99537 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
