[SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce - Song info plugin for KCRW
This is a plugin for KCRW https://www.kcrw.com - covering stations KCRW, KCRW Electic 24 and KCRW News Depending on the station / programme, it presents track information (Artist, Title, Cover Art, Label, Year) or programme information (Title, Synopsis, Artwork). There are some programmes with "segments" e.g. "Good Food" that might change what is on during the show. Seems a bit hit and miss though. When KCRW broadcasts a programme called "Eclectic 24" overnight it is a simulcast of the "Eclectic 24" station so I try to grab the "Now Playing" from that other station at that time ... things could go wrong. If you do not see what you are hearing then first check with the KCRW app or their web site to see if they have the same problem. https://www.kcrw.com/playlists https://www.kcrw.com/schedule The plugin is in the 3rd-party list in LMS. here's what i'm seeing and i am confused! sqLite - runs on RPi with LMS/Spotty, which runs on a Linux machine on the lan. myfy - my own app using Spotify WebAPI 1) i can see sqLite and select it on Spotify app as well as on myfy 2) as far as Spotify is concerned, everything is ok since the track is playing and progressing 'cause i can monitor it, only visually, there is no sound out of sqLite device 3) but LMS web page does not show Spotify so, apparently Spotty cannot get the refresh token and so cannot receive data? We will be disabling your API key in fourteen (14) days, which will prevent your application from accessing the Spotify developer platform. Please note that it is not possible to reply to this email. We use the APIs in good faith and have done so for over 10 years. To receive this email with no chance to appeal or even speak to a human being is really disappointing. If we are in breach of the impossibly vague terms specified then we'd really like to have a chance to rectify this. We have worked extremely hard on integrating Spotify into our project and our software is only available for use by Spotify Premium subscribers. We don't think this is how a big tech company like Spotify should treat it's developer community. Can we please have some information on how to appeal this decision. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
so, is the token problem a Spotify issue as far as you know? Unfortunately I don't _know_ anything... I can only guess. But we recently have seen them block "excess" requests. I tried to mitigate this issue in the most recent updates, but I fear we still have too many requests overall. And they're a black box. They don't tell us how they rate limit. I sent them a mail but haven't heard back yet. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Plugins not yet ready for 8.0
Thanks, Paul! I've just updated my repos (live and test) so that LMS 8.* will allow installing AllQuiet, BlankSaver, ContextMenu, DenonSerial, FuzzyTime, KitchenTimer, PlayLog, SaverSwitcher, SettingsManager, SleepFade, and StatusFirst. As noted in my REPO_DESC update notes, I haven't actually tested any of these in 8.x yet. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin
4. The CDplayer plugin has many "moving parts" which all must be right for it to work. Your answers must be more exact to have any chance to figure out what is happening. The good news is that your cddw2wav log looks like it could be made to work but the bad news if that only one message a day is exchanged it could take 2 weeks. To check windows behaviour/versions etc, I have to shut down a system, reconfigure hardware and reboot windows - so I have to plan what I want to test and when, to the most out of the test and minimise disruption to my own setup.. Originally Posted by bzlrbi Firstly, I open LMS automatically with startup of Windows. Please explain exactly how you "open LMS with startup of Windows". This comes from choosing the automatically run at login option from the LMS Control Panel. The only other option per the control panel is dont start automatically which obviously is an option. However, for all my testing yesterday, stopping LMS, turning on the optical drive and restarting LMS did not change the result. Please give a better descrptions of how LMS is started. IIRC under most circumstances Windows does not allow background services started at system startup to access CD drive hardware so how LMS is started is critcal.. Just recently, that resulted in the same lack of success, so I opened both cdrtools and re-opened LMS as administrator, from the Windows start menu. None of this changed anything as far as LMS seeing a CD within the drive. This also allowed me to see a command line of "C:\Program Files (x86)\cdrtfe\tools\scripts>" cdda2wav is a Linux program which has been ported to Windows using compatibility libraries cygwin. If different version of cygwin exost on the same system - problems can occur. The cdda2wav that is installed with CDplayer plugin is v2 but from your log cdda2wav installed as part of cdrtfe is v3.with a different version of cygwin library - this is a recipe for problems. When and why did you install cdrtfe ? **I saw you mention it in another thread, so I figured Id give it a shot, with the idea that it might give you some clues. What was wrong with the cdda2wav that was installed as part of CDplayer plugin ? **I am not aware of what happens upon installing the plugin. Anything I tried was due to the problems I am having. Did you alter the CDplayer plugin files in any way, this include any files in the Bin directory ? **No, I did not. Actions. Prelim. 1. Uninstall cdrfte and then shutdown Windows and reboot in order to cygwin libraries to be cleared out of Windows caches. **Done 2. If CDplayer plugin files were changed - uninstall plugin and reinstall. **NA (but I can certainly do this, but I tried doing same a few times yesterday). Check to see if CDplayer plugin version of cdda2wav is OK. 1. Open a user Command prompt window - not a Powershell and not running as administrator. 2. Change directory to the LMS pluginsdirectory probably \ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plu gins\CDplayer\Bin 3. Check that cdda2wav.exe is in the directory and run it with "cdda2wav -scanbus" command. Copy and inlcude output on a post. **Done attached. Looks fine (to my untrained eyes). 4. If CD drive is not found - repeat but steps 1 to 3 but this time Command prompt run as adminstrator. If cdda2wav works OK as user in step 3 and "sees" your CD drive then do the next test 1. For these tests, LMS can only be run from within a logged in user - so either using "Start" /"Stop" button on control panel or "Start" /"Stop" menu from Squeezetray. **Stopped. Not running in the background. Restarted 2. Make sure LMS is not running as a service. 3. Start LMS. 4.In LMS WebGUI Settings - Advanced/Logging - check the box "Save logging settings for use at next application restart" - change the logging leve for plugin.cdplayer to DEBUG - click the "Apply" button 5. Stop LMS 6. Note time. **8:49am. 7. Start LMS 8. From LMS WebUI Settings / Information - open server log file and copy lines from time noted in step 6 to end - no editing. 9. Attach log lines to a post. **Done! Thanks!! Again, I think this should probably be implemented as another plugin. ok...i have seen there is one for denon receivers...but not for Onkyo...next AV Receiver will be an Denon for me..;-) I had considered this before, but not 100% sure. For downloading albums, etc, it'd have to create a ZIP file. And when downloading there's no way for the skin to create folders on the destination machine, so all files would be in the 'Downloads' folder. Ok...no problem, some apps can do this (orangeSqueeeze and Squeeze ctrl) but i dont really need this, as i have FLAC on my LMS for home..and MP3s for the portable devises Don't apologise for your English, I'm 10% sure it's better than I would be in your language. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite player and Ubuntu
I updated my mediaserver to Ubuntu Focal 20.04 and during the update the former squeezelite player 1.9.7.1218 was renamed and the "original" Ubuntu squeezelite player v1.8 was installed. After upgrading and rebooting the server I recognized, that the squeezelite player service is running with disconnected USB-DAC. After switching on the DAC everything works perfectly. This behavior is completly different as of version 1.9.7.1218 and older. After installing version 1.9.7.1218, switching off the DAC and reboot the server, the service is not running. Therefore I wrote a script, which checks if the DAC is connected and if yes, restarts the squeezelite service. I add this script to the crontab and that works fine. My question is, why this different behavior between the "native" squeezelite player which comes with Ubuntu and the current version? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Thanks a lot for your skin and the app. Both look great and since i installed them. i use my older favourite apps (orangesqueeze and Squeeze CTRL) hardly any more. Is it because of the skin/app or is it LMS, that sort now Albums with multiple CDs in a really great way..its shows CD 1/2 and so on, in the past a ahad a problem with this albums, because the queue was like track 1 cd 1 track 1 cd2 etc. This is perfect now! Here some wishes and questions. Would it be possible to also sort individually the my music order like the one on the main page? Would it be possible to intgrate some commands for AV Receivers like Onkyo, Denon etc. (YATSE the Remote for Kodi can do this with Plugins). Would be perfect for Volume and maybe Input Selection in one App. IS there a posibillity to have a download option for the musicfiles? Sorry for my english and my dumb questions...just asking ;-) Slaytanic's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63379 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin
The CDplayer plugin has many "moving parts" which all must be right for it to work. Your answers must be more exact to have any chance to figure out what is happening. The good news is that your cddw2wav log looks like it could be made to work but the bad news if that only one message a day is exchanged it could take 2 weeks. To check windows behaviour/versions etc, I have to shut down a system, reconfigure hardware and reboot windows - so I have to plan what I want to test and when, to the most out of the test and minimise disruption to my own setup.. bzlrbi wrote: > Firstly, I open LMS automatically with startup of Windows. Please explain exactly how you "open LMS with startup of Windows". Do you use Squeezetray or Squeeze Control Panel ? If using Squeezetray is LMS set to start st "login" If using Suqeezecontrol Panel is LMS set to start at system startup ? Please give a better descrptions of how LMS is started. IIRC under most circumstances Windows does not allow background services started at system startup to access CD drive hardware so how LMS is started is critcal.. > Just recently, that resulted in the same lack of success, so I opened > both cdrtools and re-opened LMS as administrator, from the Windows start > menu. None of this changed anything as far as LMS seeing a CD within > the drive. > > This also allowed me to see a command line of "C:\Program Files > (x86)\cdrtfe\tools\scripts>" cdda2wav is a Linux program which has been ported to Windows using compatibility libraries cygwin. What was wrong with the cdda2wav that was installed as part of CDplayer plugin ? Did you alter the CDplayer plugin files in any way, this include any files in the Bin directory ? Actions. Prelim. 1. Uninstall cdrfte and then shutdown Windows and reboot in order to cygwin libraries to be cleared out of Windows caches. 2. If CDplayer plugin files were changed - uninstall plugin and reinstall. Check to see if CDplayer plugin version of cdda2wav is OK. 1. Open a user Command prompt window - not a Powershell and not running as administrator. 2. Change directory to the LMS pluginsdirectory probably \ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\CDplayer\Bin 3. Check that cdda2wav.exe is in the directory and run it with "cdda2wav -scanbus" command. Copy and inlcude output on a post. 4. If CD drive is not found - repeat but steps 1 to 3 but this time Command prompt run as adminstrator. If cdda2wav works OK as user in step 3 and "sees" your CD drive then do the next test 1. For these tests, LMS can only be run from within a logged in user - so either using "Start" /"Stop" button on control panel or "Start" /"Stop" menu from Squeezetray 2. Stop LMS 6. Note time. 7. Start LMS 8. From LMS WebUI Settings / Information - open server log file and copy lines from time noted in step 6 to end - no editing. 9. Attach log lines to a post. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

That's odd. Can you use the version of Material from git? And check on a non-iOS device? (As that's what I do my testing on). If you add "?ios" in the URL it should increase (in mobile layout) the bottom nav-bar's height by 12px. Does "?ios" work for you on iOS and non-iOS? If I use Firefox's developer tools, and manually adjust the value of "--bottom-nav-pad" I see the navbar's height change. The "env()" should be used to set this automatically. *Material debug:* 1. (64px > is just a guess - probably way too much!) The env was working, --bottom-nav-pad was getting set to 52px. I tried increasing that value manually, but it was not causing the toolbar button text to move at all. It wasn't until I manually set a value for bottom on those divs than the text moved (though I doubt bottom is the right attribute to be setting, my css skills are faded with lack of use recently). andynormancx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17417 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Can you try the Linn test album in CD Quality ALAC, I get the clicks/pops with this one, the 96 and 192 versions play ok. It seems from my (limited) tests that the issues are with 44.1K files, anything over plays fine Ade_AV's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69532 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110011 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

It most certainly does return HTML. I supply "html:1" and HTML is returned. e.g. (trimmed) Hmm... might be a difference between content from last.fm vs. allmusic then. In the case I looked into Material only got text. But it's still up to the client/renderer to define the layout. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
AFAiK, its is the 'Music and Artist Information' plugin (which supplies this info) that is responsible for this formatting change. The default web UI left aligns the images. All material does is set a max size for them, and places them in the center. If you're using teh CLI commands then the plugin doesn't return HTML, as most clients can't render HTML. It's therefore up to the renderer (the client) to decide how to present the content. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
