I've just started using Spotify Connect (on iPhone) to drive Spotty on my Classic and noticed when I turn volume up via Spotify it turns the volume DOWN on the classic. Running Spotty 4.7.3 on LMS 8.2.1 Using a Squeezebox Classic connected to an AV Receiver. The Classic is set with audio volume fixed at 100%. It is configured with IR Blaster, so when the Classic receives a Volume UP command it sends an infrared Volume Up command to the Receiver. This configuration works normally (volume up and down) when using standard Squeezebox remote. With Spotify though, a Volume Up command from Spotify ends up in the classic sending (via IR Blaster) a volume DOWN infrared command. Given there's a few moving parts here, I'm unsure what may be causing the strange behaviour, but feel it's something that's not handling the fixed 100% volume setting on the classic correctly. Anyone have a similar setup or experience? Just noticed a "?" appearing at the end of my display when using SuperDateTime standby display. It appears to be related to the weather.com identifier I'm using: ASXX6846:1:AS https://weather.com/en-AU/weather/today/l/ASXX6846:1:AS Happens also on other Victorian cities. eg. I know this is a long shot of a question, but has anyone ever seen a screensaver similar to MusicInfoSCR, but also allows display of current weather in one of the screen elements (similar to SuperDateTime) ? I run multiple Booms, and often they're on a radio stream, so the progress-bar options are a bit redundant, but wouldn't mind being able to see current or forecast weather temp. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty - 'stalled' stream
Running Spotty 4.2.0 on LMS Version: 8.0.0 - 1593258969 I've noticed occasionally the stream appears to 'stall' at the end of a song. I tend to play via the Spotify Genre's/Mood links. The stream will play multiple songs successfully, but then I just notice the music/stream has stalled at the end of a song (still with multiple songs appearing in the current playlist) The player web interface and Boom screen still show the song as playing but it's at 100% complete (eg. remaining duration is 0) and the indicator is still showing playing. If I click next-track (either on web or physical Boom remote) the stream continues. I see nothing in the error level log, but I'll set Spotty level to debug and see if I see anything. But, I'm not sure if it's a network issue on my side, and Spotify stream issue, or a Plug-in issue. I was just asking if anyone else has experienced similar stalls at the end of songs? I've just started using Playlist Manager V6.1 (on a LMS v8 system) to manage local playlists. I noticed that if I have a hand-crafted, basic playlist with relative paths, whenever I add a track to the playlist the relative paths are converted to absolute paths. I've got v2.7 of PlayHLS installed (LMS Version: 8.0.0 - 1590897266) and noticed that if I do a complete clear and rescan of my music library my m3u playlists appear as "empty". PlayHLS still works for me. As part of my diagnosis work I had seen the following line in the scanner.log. I'm note sure if it's relevant Code: [20-06-30 11:26:19.9013] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::scanPlaylistFileHandle (1252) Playlist item file:///volume1/Music/My%20Playlists%20(NAS)/testA.m3u changed from m3um3u8 to ssp content-type I can reproduce the issue by disabling the PlayHLS plugin, rescan library - the playlist contents reappear. If I re-enable the PlayHLS plugin and rescan, the playlist contents show as empty. Any suggestions on what I can help look at as to what the issue may be? [SlimDevices: Plugins] Plugin to return to previous stream?
Is there a plugin that will return to the previous stream/playlist that was previously playing - a bit like the 'previous' button on a TV remote? Scenario is, I'm working from home listening to a playlist or stream (Spotty), and then flick over to a radio stream to listen to the hourly news. It would be great if I could click one icon/menu item to return to the previously playing playlist/stream. As it is now I need to head back to the home menu and drill bak down into either favourites or My Apps to restart where I was. Got it working with a 'hack'. I 'intercepted' the downloaded irblaster.zip file in the /SqueezeCenter/Cache/DownloadedPlugins/ directory. Modified the install.xml within the zip and added it back into the DownloadedPlugins directory. Then when I enabled the plugin it copied it into the InstalledPlugins directory and it accepted version 8 of LMS. mmm ... I can't get my changes to Install.xml to stick. Maybe I'm updating them in the wrong folder. I just realised IR-Blaster v6.2.1 is showing as unsupported on my LMS version (v8.0.0) I can't event find where I got the latest v6.2.1 of IR-Blaster, so I'm not sure if it's still being updated, or if the issue is just a version pre-req issue. Has there been recent changes to Material in the handling of Fixed Volume environments? Running Material v1.0.2 when I use Material on Chrome Mac of iPhone there's no volume controls for my Squeezebox Classic which has a fixed volume at 100% and sound is controlled via stereo receiver. 28341 Boom works OK. 28340 I remember there was an earlier change required in Material to handle Fixed Volume settings and still pass-through volume commands so that it could be picked up by IRBlaster to send to the receiver, so not sure if this is related. Anyone got instructions on how to use Settings Manager to export player settings from one LMS server to another? I've updated Settings manager with the fix mentioned here https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109113-Settings-Manager-no-longer-works=914841=1#post914841 I've gone through and can copy player settings from one player to another, but I want to export the settings as I'll be moving a player (Boom) to another LMS server. I've exported the player settings to a customer group, and can see they end up in prefs/plugin/SettingsManager.prefs How do I now import this to the new LMS server, and apply them to the reattached player? Do I just cut-n-paste the contents into the text put of Settings Manager import option? How much of the file do I cut'n'paste? It appears there are some header lines, so not sure if they need to be included or not. Anyone used/still-using this plugin? Or is there a better way to transfer player configs between LMS servers? Was jokingly talking about using the various SB Booms distributed in the kid's bedrooms for exactly this the other day, and then a quick search for "intercom" on the forums found this. Has anyone looked at implementing something similar (acknowledging the script is over 14 years old now) ? Was looking for any plugins/code that could be invoked possibly by a menu selection on SB Web Gui or SqueezePad interface to play one of a selection of messages. Interrupting current playlist, or turning Boom on then off would be super. Haven't played with the linked script yet, as I'm not sure how I'd invoke the script. The latest release (or latest minus 1 or 2) broke the PlayHLS (beta) plugin, so was looking to downgrade, but the package centre manual install wouldn't let me. I'm able to report the PlayHLS (V2.0) version works running Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 - 0018.1548605546 on a Synology DS918+ NAS and can play all the AFL streams that I threw at it. Yes, I'm still trawling the web to see what might be causing ffmpeg to not play the streams (given they were working last year - but the underlying streams could not be implemented differently). LMS is on Windows 10. I tested using the following mplayer MPlayer Redxii-SVN-r38117-6.2.0 (i686) (C) 2000-2018 MPlayer Team Using FFmpeg N-92461-gd3621b2321 (2018-11-17 18:06:58 +0100) Compiled on 2018-11-17 20:04:15 EST (rev. 1) The command I used was: mplayer -really-quiet "http://aflliveradiohls348.ngcdn.telstra.com/afllive/aflradio_12/playlist.m3u8; This would play the audio straight away without any screen output. Not sure how you'd stream that through to LMS though. Just tried with ffmpeg V4.1.1 and same issue. I'll keep testing with ffmpeg. Yes, I agree I need to sort out the playing via ffmpeg outside of LMS first. The streams are definitely still playing (at the moment). I can drop http://aflliveradiohls348.ngcdn.telstra.com/afllive/aflradio_5/playlist.m3u8 into Safari on a Mac and it plays. (No default playing on Chrome - it just downloads the m3u8 file) I can see in the Safari developer mode it downloads the playlist.m3u8 then the http://aflliveradiohls348.ngcdn.telstra.com/afllive/aflradio_5/chunklist.m3u8 which then loads in the next stream. eg. http://aflliveradiohls348.ngcdn.telstra.com/afllive/aflradio_5/media-uehkmoil5_8112.aac I'll have to do a bit more research on why the streams have changed this year and ffmpeg can't handle them. The URLs work when I use them in a Safari Browser on a MAC, it's just the stream doesn't start on the Squeezebox's. At this stage it looks like it was the "Streaming Method" setting. Previously I'd set it to "Proxied Streaming" due to my slow Internet connection. If I set the players to "Direct Streaming" Deezer keeps playing fine (for hours). If I switch back to "Proxied Streaming" the songs get cut-off part-way through. Must be something with my new router/network setup that is causing "Proxied Streaming" to have problems. Never heard an advert. Been playing Deezer channels (free account) and noticed over the past couple of weeks the end of the songs get cut-off (maybe last 20%) before it plays the next song. Looking for some pointers to help diagnose where the issue maybe (eg. network, server). Recent changes: - change Internet provider to much faster connection with new Wifi router as well - upgraded LMS (Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 - 1552283404 @ Mon Mar 11 07:09:16 WEST 2019) after I started hearing the issue (but no resolution) I do observe on the Boom when it's playing "Connection reset by server" - but nothing in the standard LMS logfile. Eventually the stream will stop playing. Yep - does sound a bit mixed up, but when a Classic's volume is set fixed at 100% you normally control the volume via the stereo it's plugged into. If you send the Classic which has it's volume fixed at 100% a volume up or down command the actual volume from the Classic doesn't change, but we can intercept the LMS command to trigger an external infrared command via the IR Blaster plugin to change the stereo volume. The default Logitech player web-interface always sends a Volume-up command even when the Classic volume is set at 100% - but the web display always shows the volume bar full to 100%. So, as per your Edit - I need a volume up command to be issued, even when we're at 100%. Probably don't want to change the % that is displayed (it will probably return to 100% anyway next time you retrieve the current volume from the player - it does this if I turn the volume down via Material, the displayed volume % will drop, but after 0.5 seconds it will return to being displayed as 100% as I assume it gets refreshed/retrieve from the player's current volume setting.) I'm running Material 0.1.0 against a couple of SB Classics that have their volume controls fixed at 100% in LMS. (I control the volume via my stereo using the IRBlaster plugin that issues Volume up/down infrared to stereo when LMS receives Volume up/down commands) Under Material this works fine in the Manage Players dialog screen. The volume bar sits at 100%, but I can still volume up/down and the commands go through to LMS (and therefore IR blaster) On the Volume Pop-over (?) dialog screen, the volume bar sits at 100%, I an do a volume down and it goes through to LMS, but the volume ups don't appear to work. Maybe there's slightly different volume up handling code in there than your Manage Player dialog, but it's as if the Volume Up is not being issued if volume is at 100%. Is it possible to change these so it's the same as volume handling on Manager Players? I just found the PlayHLS plugin to be able to stream AFL Football game day commentary via the Squeezebox. (Sample stream: http://aflliveradiohls348.ngcdn.telstra.com/afllive/aflradio_12/playlist.m3u8 only active when games are being played) I noticed the volume of the streams are lower than the usual Radio stations streams and MP3 files, and also quieter than the sample BBC stream http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/nonuk/sbr_low/llnw/bbc_radio_fourfm.m3u8 Is there an option (maybe via ffmpeg config parameter?) that can be used to increase the volume for the stream? I'm using the Deezer app on a free account, and always see the playlist "Pháp.fr - Institut français du Vietnam" as part of the Smart Radio lists. Entered my userid/password into the Last.FM Audioscrobbler settings and got error message for an invalid username. [16-10-22 10:26:16.7468] Slim::Plugin::AudioScrobbler::Plugin::_handshakeOK (351) Invalid Last.fm username or password. I can use the same userid/password on the last.fm website with no problems. I'm a last.fm free user - ie. no subscription. Is there a way to verify on the LMS server that the applet is available? [SlimDevices: Plugins] IR Blaster and 2 zone stereo receivers
I've been using IR Blaster successfully from my Squeezebox Classic to poweron my receiver, set it to the correct input and play music. This is particularly useful when I use the iPeng or Squeezepad apps. I'm now looking to connect some speakers to the Zone 2 of my receiver and looking to see if there is anyway to have different On commands to the Squeezebox. Currently my Power On settings under IR Blaster PowerOn Zone 1 of my stereo and set input for Zone 1 to the Squeezebox. I want to see if there's some way to add a different Power On for Zone 2 so I can selectively use that one without impacting Zone 1. I think I'm asking a bit much because there's only 1 PowerOn command, but I'm interested if anyone else has played with IR Blaster for multi-zoned receivers and being able to selectively choose which zone to use. Solved it. I had another bit of software listening on the 8080 port which required authorisation. I changed 8080 to a different port, and it all worked straight away. Schmurtz, thanks for your work on this extension. I'm having issues in getting it to completely work, and was wondering if you have any debug pointers. I'm running your extension on Windows 7 using VLC. - I start Shairportw and it starts OK - I can select the device from Airplay on my iPhone and direct the music to Shairportw - VLC starts up with the directshow stream. - My Squeezebox starts up OK, but I get no music coming through the Squeezebox. I found I was hearing music on my PC (which doesn't have a dedicated soundcard) - so I installed the VB-Audio Virtual Cable driver and used that as the default 'speakers' and 'recorder' for the laptop. I now don't hear the music on my PC, but I still don't get anything on my Squeezebox. I also updated the type.conf file to add application/octet-stream to the mp3 types (it wasn't specified in any other type). Are there any pointers or logs that I may be able to check to see what's happening here?
