I was having a similar issue in that, if trying to play a full album, it would play a track without sound for a few seconds, skip to the next, and on and on. On a single track that was, for instance, part of a playlist, there would just be no sound at all and it'd go to the end of the track and stop. What eventually worked for me was completely deinstalling the helper plugin, then rebooedt LMS. No clue as to why it worked to do that, but it didnow Spotify tracks play as they're supposed to. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Pandora 45 min timeout
Michael, Something in the logs got me to thinking, so I checked the Squeezelite internal stream and output buffers. I believe I'd been fooling around with the buffer sizes at some point a few months ago, and forgot to reset those values to the default. I hadn't used Pandora in a while until just recently, so the issue, for some reason, hadn't manifested with other apps, etc. My bad! I've had Pandora playing without interruption for 2 1/2 hours, now, so I'm going to call this solved. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Pandora 45 min timeout
Michael, I've never done the logging thing before so bear with me if I mess it up. I shut my server down completely, restarted, and then enabled the logging preference for the pandora plugin to debug and started Pandora playing. Following is what I got. I'm not sure what I'm seeing here, but for the amount of time Pandora was playing, I'm unsure why this log only shows it retrieving only a couple songs when there were many more that played between the start time and when that cache::cleanup thing shows up. If there's more I should do, let me knowand you probably should include the "how to" do what you're asking. Note: I do have a Radio, but that is not what I was using to play Pandora. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Pandora 45 min timeout
In the past three or four days, I've started having a strange problem with Pandora where it stops exactly 45 minutes from when I start playing music from one of my "stations". I have a paid Pandora Premium account. I've repeated this at least five times, so I'm confident it's not just a one-off problem. After the music stops, if I push play, it will only play one track and then stop again, showing the message that I'm over my daily limit for "skips". At that point, I've not done any skips, so, that message isn't reflective of anything I've done overtly. This happens whether I start playing from the LMS interface or from iPeng. My wife has no problem streaming Pandora for hours via her iPhone, so it seems there's something specific to LMS/MySB. com. I have tried deleting my Pandora account from MySB.com, changing my password, and re-logging in. This didn't change the behavior. Also, Spotty playlists seem to play fine---no problem with a 45 timeout. I'm running LMS 8.0.0 - 0.1.20201112git1605166211. My player is PiCorePlayer/Squeezelite on an RPI4 B. Anybody have any suggestions?? Sorry, I guess I'm confused. I think I need you to define what you're describing as the "Main Screen". Of course, the shuffle, repeat, etc. are always in the same place on the upper task bar and function the same everywhere except on the "Now Playing" page where the press and hold of the shuffle button never brings up the little sub-menu. Also, I don't see "Cancel" anywhere. If I press and hold the shuffle button on any other page, there's a "Don't Shuffle Playlist" item when the menu appears, but nothing that says "Cancel". Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Hi Pippin, In past versions (I'm using the latest version of iPeng on an iPad) I used to be able turn the shuffle function on and off from the "now playing" screen. This no longer seems to work. Is that on purpose or a bug? Or, have I inadvertently done something to change this? When I'm in the iPeng screen where all tracks are listed, tapping and holding the shuffle button brings up a menu where I can choose from various types of shuffle. I'm o.k. with shuffling from there, but it was nice to just be able to do it from "now playing". Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0
Don't know if this has been brought up in this lengthy thread, but.I have numerous playlists made up of both Spotify and my own tracks. As we all know, albums and tracks can sometimes disappear without notice from Spotify. I find that when I'm playing a playlist that arrives at a track that is unavailable from Spotify, rather than just skip over that unavailable track, the playlist stops and I have to manually use the ">> next track" button to forward it to the next playable track. Is this something that can be fixed so that it just skips the unavailable track and proceeds to the next one without manual intervention, or is it something peculiar to my set up (using Squeezelite as player on Vortexbox/Linux hardware. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotify Protocol Handler - play Spotify on all your Squeezeboxen
Michael, Don't know if this is related to the Protocol Handler or some other issue, but not all of the tracks in playlists I've created (did this several years ago---on Spotify through their website, not through LMS, etc.) are displayed in LMS (or iPeng, of course). For instance, I have a 14 song playlist named "Big Band, Swing" that I can have on the Spotify site and I have verified that each track plays perfectly via their app. However when I click on that same playlist using the Spotify app/Protocal Handler within LMS, it only displays 11 of the 14 tracks. In addition, some of my other playlists which have mixed content---both from my server library and from Spotify---are now not displaying the album art from Spotify, although the music, itself seems to play o.k. I final little glitch--perhaps related, perhaps not---is that, in iPeng, the same tracks where the album art doesn't display also also 0:00 for the track time/length in the iPeng playlist track lists (far right hand side). Again, these tracks still play o.k. I've done a complete clear and rescan in LMS and have cleared the iPeng cache, but the behavior persists. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Hi Pippin, Not sure if it's related to the o/s update to my iPad, today but.when I choose an album from Music Folder, I'm pretty sure I used to see the album art thumbnail next to each track in the album. Now, all I see is text. Oddly, on all my playlists and on the LMS web interface the thumbnails appear next to each track. I did a clear and rescan just today and have also flushed the iPeng cache, but none of that seems to make a difference. Have I inadvertently changed a setting somewhere?? Thanks... Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Hi Pippin, I just received a new vortexbox micro appliance today and it's running the stock current LMS 7.8. I've got everything working pretty well but there's one small problem. All of my seven apps show up in the LMS web interface and are functional via the LMS web interface. However, the 'My Apps" page in iPeng only shows two of them: "Facebook" and "Spotify". The rest are not shown (Pandora, Sirius, etc.). I've tried flushing the cache, restarting, etc. but still the same problem. I'm sure it's something really simple. Thanks... No doubt you're right on this. One thing I did see which I didn't quite understand was that in the LMS Advanced Settings>Performance, there is a check box (which is currently unchecked) with the title "Custom Pre Caching Specifications". Tried deleting the cache but it didn't change anything. Did a complete reinstall of LMS 7.9.0 - 1407759841 (this is the "SqueezeCommunity version for Vortexbox/Fedora 20) and then a clear and rescan. Unfortunately, the problem remainsstill no thumbnails (just see the "musical note" placeholder) appearing in playlists from my internal tracks. Spotify thumbnails and internal server thumbnails (when tracks are not in a playlist) are displayed just fine. And, just to reiterate, ALL thumbnails (playlists and otherwise) are properly displayed in the LMS web ui. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Hi Pippin, Running the following: Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1407759841 @ Mon 11 Aug 15:31:11 BST 2014 on a Vortexbox appliance. Using latest iPeng 7 on my iPad 3, album thumbnail (and large) art loads and appears just fine on albums played from my internal library. Spotify album thumbnail (and large) art loads just fine and displays, too. However, in I cannot get album art to display thumbnails in "New Music". Also, on mixed playlists (Spotify and internal music), album art thumbnails display fine for Spotify tracks but does not display thumbnail album art for tracks from the internal server. This problem is only on the thumbnails, 100% of the larger images display just fine when the tracks are playing. Very odd. Just for reference, using the LMS Web UI, all thumbnail and large album art displays perfectly in all situations. I've done a clear and rescan, cleared the iPeng cache and waited several hours to see if things catch up, but no luck yet on the thumbnail issue. Any advice? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Hi Pippin, I posted this comment a while ago on another thread that had to do with Triode's screen-off app. Might you have any ideas? "I finally figured out what's going on with the backlight. If I use only the Touch to control everything, your app works perfectly. But, I use iPeng on an iPad and any input from iPad/iPeng triggers the backlight (but not the screen) to go on. The backlight will stay on until I utilize the Touch's screen in any way---then, after the 10 sec. delay, backlight (and screen, of course) turn off. So, something to do with the iPad/iPeng commands is triggering the backlight. Any thoughts on how to fix this (other than not using iPeng/iPad which I do about 99% of the time)??" Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Hi Pippin, I have a small problem which is vexing me. I suspect it's something simple, but I just can't quite figure it out. When I'm selecting an album from either "Genre" or "Artist", the tracks are displayed and I can select any track and it will play that track just fine. However, when I select an album from "Music Folder", the tracks are displayed and no matter which track I select to play, it always plays track #1. The only way I can get a specific track (other than #1) to play is to touch and hold that track which brings up the context menu and then touching "Play" will play that track. I don't think this used to be the case. I've double checked that I do not have the shuffle or repeat functions enabled and have duplicated this a number of times on different albums, so I know it's not a tag issue, either. Is there a setting somewhere that I've inadvertently changed, or is this a little bug? Bringing up the context menu works exactly as it did before. Tapping on "Album" brings up all the tracks and tapping the first track begins playback. So getting rid of the M3U file didn't change a thing. Over on the Ripping/Tagging forum I asked if anybody knew if these album playlist m3u files were used for anything. A couple folks, JJZolx and Mnyb, feel that they are not used and can be deleted. -- rgro Rick System information Main: PS Audio Quintet > Touch (wired) via spdif coax > CA DacMagic > Marantz PM8003 > VA Mozart Grands > REL Acoustics R305. You put me on the track of something, but not quite what either of us may have thought. An example: I have a file folder called "Flamenco". In that folder, I have a number of albums. As a for instance, I have two albums by Estrella Morente. The two album file structures are identical (just tracks and cover art) in every respect except one. One album played perfectly as in configuration #1 and the other one would only will play in my configuration #2. The only difference in the files within the album folder is that in the one album folder---along with the tracks and art file---there is an M3U file and in the other album there is no M3U file. I certainly didn't put any M3U files in there...it appears it may be some sort of artifact that ocurred in the ripping process to the VBA. It seems to be causing iPeng to possibly read it as some sort of playlist??? Why some albums have the M3U files in with the tracks and others do not is a mystery as they were all ripped on the VBA appliance with its auto ripper. As you might imagine, there was an easy test and I can report that the M3U files were absolutely the cause of the problem. Deleting the M3U file caused that album to play perfectly in configuration #1. Unless someone can tell me why I MUST have these little M3U files in the album folders along with the track and art files, I plan to delete all of them. -- rgro Rick System information Main: PS Audio Quintet > Touch (wired) via spdif coax > CA DacMagic > Marantz PM8003 > VA Mozart Grands > REL Acoustics R305. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Hi... So, I'm a new user and have everything working pretty well. I have one small issue, though. I tend to use my Music Folder to find most of my music--just how I've got things organized. The little problem I have is after I've selected an album to play and the tracks are displayed, there are two slightly different page configurations that appear with different results when attempting to play the album from start to finish. Configuration #1. On this page configuration, just above the little album title bar---which is just above the first track---appears a bar that says "Play Shuffled" and also displays the little shuffle icon. When I quick tap the little album art icon on the first track, the album starts playing and all subsequent tracks automatically play in sequence. This is perfect. Configuration #2. Everything else looks the same but that bar that says "Play Shuffled" with the little shuffle icon is not displayed. Tapping on the album art does not start playing the first track but brings up the sub-menu where I can select from a number of options. When I select "Album" from the sub-menu, it brings up all the tracks again, and only then can I tap the first track which results in the desired action---the first track plays and then the whole album plays sequentially. I cannot divine any reason as to why some of my albums come up with page configuration #1 and some come up with configuration #2. Obviously, I'd prefer that #1 is there 100% of the time. Can anybody shed light as to if there's anything to be done to fix this...is it a known bug or is there possibly something in my configuration that's causing the inconsistencies? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SrvrPowerControl Question
Thanks gharris for the straight answer---VERY much appreciated! You saved me hours more of reading and head-scratching! While it would, indeed, be nice to be able to seamlessly---without leaving my easy chair---go back and forth between my server and mysqueezebox.com regardless of the state of slumber of the server, I find this issue to be a minor annoyance when put in the overall context of how much fun I've been having with this product. Maybe making me get off my fat a** to run downstairs to wake up the server isn't the worst thing in the world---uses up a few calories, right ;>)? Today, my 86 year-old mom was able to listen to some music that she hadn't heard in 7 decades (Jeannette McDonald and Nelson Eddy)---courtesy of the Rhapsody service and my Duet system. Seeing the delighted look on her face was worth every penny the Duet cost and every hour I spent fiddling to get everything working and stable. -- rgro Rick System information Running Squeeze Server 7.4.1 r7915 on Windows 7 64 bit/ HP Pavillion Intel i7. 1 Duet Controller running 7.4.1 r7915, and 1 receiver running firmware V 65. [SlimDevices: Plugins] SrvrPowerControl Question
O.K...so I'll be honest...that thread has 123 pages of posting, most of which I don't understand. My question is: If I'm running my Duet Controller and receiver via mysqueezebox.com and I then want, instead, to connect to my pc/server so I can play some music files---and it is now sleeping---will installing SrvrPowerControl allow me to wake up my pc/server from the Duet Controller? Right now if my pc/server is asleep and I go to "My Music", it just tells me that I need to intall the Squeeze Center software, etc. So, I run downstairs, fire up the pc/server and a minute later all is well and I can connect just fine. I also have no problems going back to mysqueezebox.com from being connected to the pc/server. Finall, if I'm connected to the pc/server and it goes to sleep because I haven't played any music for a while, I can wake it up just fine from the Duet (though it takes a minute and a "retry" for everything to spin up, etc.) I don't want to mess anything up as it's all stable and working great, so would appreciate some advice as to whether I should just wait and consider this a minor annoyance or whether I should take a deep breath and try the Beta version of SrvrPowerControlor should I just wait for Logitech to deal with this, themselves?? [SlimDevices: Plugins] Bug in Classical.com
Just subscribed to Classical.co last night. Is there a bug in the Classical.com app that prevents it from auto-playing the next track in a playlist. They have some pre-selected playlists and, as well, I've built a small one of my own and neither of them will perform auto-play the next track. Makes it a bit unweildy to listen to a multi-movement symphonic piece when you have to manually start the next movement when the previous one finishes. Anybody else experienced this and found a solution? Running Duet and Squeezecenter both on V. 7.4.1 without any issues (except this).
