I think it currently is only available in the Default skin. I'll add

I'm not sure if this plugin is still maintained, but the recent RP
website updates make the "Title information" link on a song's detail no
longer work.

The old URL was:

https://radioparadise.com/player/info/%s

and now changes to:

https://radioparadise.com/music/song/%s

I was able to manually update the plugin code (
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/RadioParadise/Plugin.pm
on my installation) to point to the new location. It doesn't look like
the plugin was updated in a while, so if it's no longer maintained, this
hack works for me.

I have attached an updated version of the Plugin file that worked for
me.

follow up on Michael's, question, but in the mean time, try rebooting
your LMS server, and/or restarting LMS. Maybe even your router/modem
(first)

What you are describing is exactly what happens to me (LMS on
picoreplayer) when recovering from a power failure:
RP mp3 streams play fine with artwork and song info
RP FLAC streams play fine but without "" (standard RP logo is
displayed)
RP Interactive streams will not play.

The guess is that on recovery from a power failure, my picoreplayer
boots faster than my modem and so pcp is looking for NTP "time" from the
internet but it's not yet available. The RP plugin uses this for FLAC
interactive, and for FLAC, but not for MP3.

Another symptom is my touch screensaver is blank (it should be displayer
time). When I come home I know when there was a power failure by looking
at the screen :)

I think what Michael was asking is can you play the other streams from
the plugin -
genre - main mix, rock mix, mellow mix, eclectic mix
quality - flac, flac interactive, mp3 320kbps.

I think he was wondering if it was a specific or general issue.

also, for reference, if you want to use direct links, it's best to get
them right from the RP website (bound to be most current, right?). The
main reason to use the plugin (for me) is the Flac Interactive, but the
other aspects of the plug in are a nice organization/implementation of
the other high quality streams.

I listen and use this plugin for lots of listening . However after
having to do a new install of Max2play and LMS I can start the RP music
playing but it stops after a single track . This seems to be on the FLAC
streams . I have added a download of the server log but do not
understand what is happening . Can anyone advise ?

Your credentials seem to be invalid, as the RP authentication seems to
be failing. But that shouldn't be the problem. There's a bunch of these
errors:

cannot open session for
http://audio-geo.radioparadise.com/blocks/chan/0/4/5011773.flac 404 Not
Found

Basically RP tells us what URL to play, but then can't serve that file.
I'd assume this was a temporary hiccup. Can you play any of the other RP
streams and channels?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)

2022-03-03 Thread Redrum

Michael is far better at solving your issue than I, but I thought I
would mention something simple to check.

Whenever (the only time) I have had problems with RP Interactive it came
as a result of a power failure where my picore server would come back up
faster than my modem restablished an internet connection (that picore
looks for on boot). It's funny because the regular stream would play,
but the album art/song info would not.

The result is "time" got messed up, and interactive stream uses this,
where the regular stream does not (warning - over simplification).

It was obvious that there was a power failure when I would come home,
because the clock screen saver was black. No time -> no display. So, I
knew there was a power failure while I was gone (they are frequent at my
cabin).

If you haven't, try rebooting your server. Not sure what your hardware
is.

Whenever the non commercial "commercial" Listener supported message got
send ...the "radip paradise, listener supported radio...tanks for

I do not know exactly since when i have this, but i now, that it already
worked in the past.

solution is to press forward button manually. But this was automatically
working in the past.

"my squeezebox"). If you are using LMS (which I believe you have to for
RP FLAC), did you enable the plugin:

36941

Then you should see the app under "apps"

36942

sorry if I misunderstood your question, specifically your reference to
"my squeezebox", it confused me :)

Only just found this thread.

So far as I can see, there is no such thing as an app selection in my
squeezebox, there is a very short, fixed, list only.

Using Chrome on the iPad it's impossible to Add the url
"radioparadise://4.flac" so I will try on a PC later.

the progress with my system back home, and apparently assumed the cabin

I still can't understand why I had to visit the plugin page for it to

stopping/starting LMS updates the plugins.

Thank you and Michael again, Phillippe for all your hard work and

My apologies to the community for posting this.

So, I fired up my server and Touch that had remained dormant in a closed
cabin since past November, and experienced what I described above. I
mistakenly suspected the crappy DSL. I have been streaming 320kbps RP
stations and other stations as well, no problems.

After a few days I had an "ah-ha" thought. Yep, the RP plugin was on
version 2.5, which must have been the version last November? Anyhow, I
updated it, and so far so good.

The one thing that I have never quite understood though. I have started
and stopped LMS a few times and it seems the plugin never updated? I had
to visit the plugin page in setting, then apply, and restart for the
plugin to be updated. Am I imagining this as well? I wouldn't be

The RP FLAC interactive streams have been rock solid for months for me,
but this morning (8-10AM EST) I had a couple of rebuffering, play,
rebuffering, play, rebuffering failed, then the stream would start again
a few songs back.

It doesn't bother me, and I am not asking for investigation, pourely
observation. I wanted to post that it happened, and the circumstances.
Two days ago, I opened my cabin for the summer (?), and we have pretty
slow, unreliable DSL up here. At home, where the stream is rock solid,
we have much faster, reliable cable ISP. If no one else is experiencing
it, perhaps it is solely poor internet, or a wifi issue.

Yesterday I was streaming a different 320kbps stream all day, and there
wasn't a single problem.

Both systems are PiCore 4, Touch's (actually home was just upgraged to
6, cabin will be in a few days...). Home player connection is ethernet,
cabin is wifi.

Were you able to get an update to the RP API from Bill?

Oh, one of the main reason why I didn't really get started on this is
the fact that I'd first have to build a library. While I had created an
account years ago, I never interacted much with it. I'd have to listen
to RP for a few days and rate every single track playing...

If somebody wanted to give the auth etc. a try, I'd be happy to share
code and information.

I did indeed get some information.

I am hoping at some point you can take a break from the great work being
done on LMS 8, Qobuz, and online service music integration, (fabulous by
the way,) and update the RP plugin to include this feature. Over the
years I have accumulated over 3,000 favorites rated 7 or higher at this
point, if only I could stream that mix to my Touch!

I imagine you are quite busy, and stuck at home.

Yeah, I mentioned this in some other thread: it's surprising how little
spare time you have when you and your family is stuck at home :-(. I'd
have a lot on my to do list for when I'm getting bored. But I'm not sure
this is going to happen any time soon...

And I actually have to do some work on the side :-D.

Hi Michael,

Were you able to get an update to the RP API from Bill?

I took a peak at the Bluesound website this morning, after reading
Darko's recent posting on the updated Powernode 2i. Looking at the
features, I noticed that Bluesound now supports Radio Paradise user
registration. If logged in, a user can give a thumbs up or thumbs down,
like Pandora. You can also choose to play a mix from your own favorites.

ah-HA!

Touch (B) was synchronized with one of the receivers, when I unsynced
it, both touches now has AAC in the menu.

I learned something today :). I think the OP's original question got

Correct.

ah, player specific.but, in checking the lms interface of each of my

Receivers - mp3
Radio - ACC
Touch (A) - ACC
Touch (B) - mp3 ???

Maybe a setting in the player? I'm not all that familiar with MP/ACC as

No setting available. Receiver simply can't play AAC natively.

I have put allot of hours on all of the regular and interactive streams,
all rock solid, not a single glitch. Normally a regular stream guy I
have recently "discovered" the advantage of the interactive. Then add in
FLAC lossless, and the various stream options, what's not to love?

Thanks to all that helped.

I found some similar reports here in this thread. However it seems that
in those cases the reason could always be traced back to some error
message. Here, I do not get any error messages.

Some information about my setup:
* The LMS is running inside a Docker container. The image is based on
[1], yet I updated the LMS version to 7.9.2 (nightly build) and built my
own image.
* There are no errors in the log file (especially no IO::Socket::SSL
errors). I attached the relevant part of the log file.
* Startup Message is: [20-01-11 15:39:58.9838] main::init (387) Starting

7.7.3-r16676, SB Touch Firmware: 7.8.0-r16754)
* The Radio Paradise Plugin has v2.7.0

I assume (hope?) it's just a missing ubuntu package to play audio in
FLAC format. Yet I could not find any indication which package that
might be. Any ideas? Any help is highly appreciated!

Cheers, Christoph

I just installed the RP app on iPhone.

It's present on the Windows 10 web page.

I don't listen to RP very often these days, so don't know about any
changes that have been made...sorry

I notice a new mix available:

RP world/Etc mix

Where do you see this? From what I've seen it's what formerly was called
"Eclectic Mix", isn't it?

I don't think I can. This RP channel, "My Favorites," works more like
Favorites in Qobuz; the user has to be logged in, so it probably
requires an addition to your plugin.

Oh wow, never heard of this before. I'll ping Bill.

I don't think I can. This RP channel, "My Favorites," works more like
Favorites in Qobuz; the user has to be logged in, so it probably
requires an addition to your plugin.

This channel is supported in the RP phone apps as well as the RP web
player, and it appears to play a shuffled version of those songs that I
have previously rated 7 or higher.

I looked at the stream in Wireshark, and there is an initial encrypted
handshake where the player tells RP about itself, and then the streaming
begins from one of the usual RP servers.

I don't know the RP API, but would it be possible to have a feature
where the user could enter his RP credentials so that he could stream
his own "My Favorites" channel? Is "My Favorites" even available in the
API?

yes, thank you, but are the url's affected by an update to the plugin?

If you look at them you'll see that they're super simple:

radioparadise://4.flac

As long as RP doesn't change their channel and stream quality parameters
this will not change.

Or, is the update reflected in the way the url streams? My original
concern - by "favoriting" a stream from "my apps" will I be missing
benefits of future updates/changes/features to the plug in? If I
favorite a selection is my apps->radio paradise-->main mix->main mix
interactive, will selecting the favorite always be the same as through
my apps?

They'll stay the same.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)

2020-01-03 Thread Redrum

I have been out of touch on this thread, exciting news! I'll try them
out today...

In trying to insure that my plugin was the latest, I had a weird
experience that leads me to this question/concern - If you "favorite"
the stream from "apps", is that a pointer to the app, or just a static
link to a url?

Here's why I ask. I have "favorites"->"eclectic" or "rock", etc that
I'll have multiple similar favorite streams in. If I am not listening to
my music, I am listening through "favorites", so I might favorite these
flac streams like:

Favorites->
\Eclectic->
\\RP-Main (regular)
\\RP-Main (interactive)
\\similar stations

\Rock->
\\RP-Rock (regular)
\\RP- Rock (interactive)
\\similar stations

To create this, using the web interface I'll play the stream via "my
apps", favorite (heart) it, then move it to the target folder as above

My concern is, if I favorite, and the app is updated, do my favorites
reflect the update, or are they a snapshot in time (i.e. might not
reflect the benefits of the update)?

Suddenly the interactive RP stream works on my Boom. It has never
started before, now it does.
So it means that there was smth in the previous versions that didn't go
well with the Boom, but worked with SB Radio and Touch.
This gives me hope that all FIP streams will also work in the future
(like they did a couple of years ago).

Fair enough. What about allowing clients to specify "want_links:1" or
something similar? This could be standardised, allowing other control
points to also handle links.

I was wondering about some kind of capability check: a controller could
tell LMS about its capabilities in some way when it connects. We have
something like that for players already, which allows players to tell
the server eg. what file formats it can read.

I'll think about options.

It's currently only available in the web UI where the UI is rendered

haven't figured out how to do this for the Controllers yet, as
Slim::Control::XMLBrowser doesn't handle the "weblink" item. I'm tempted

I've implemented workarounds in the past. I'll have to look into how I
did this in other of my plugins... It seems I always introduced another
menu level. Which is ugly for a single link.

Whilst I could see these being OK-ish on a hardware player, on software
control points not so much.

Not sure what you mean by main menu. The appear in two locations:

- My Apps -> RadioParadise. They are in the lsit of Mixes. This is
where I think they should not be.
- Click on the 'M' next to an item in the current play list, or on
the 'More' entry of the popup menu for a track in Material. This shows
the 'trackinfo'. Here the ID at least makes more sense, as the rest of
the info is track related. Still not sure the HD image option makes
sense here - as its (I assume) not track specific.
