No.
Qobuz does not have the equivalent of Spotify Connect.
You would have to control Squeezelite playing Qobuz using iPeng or
Material etc

I will clarify the question whether it is possible to control the
playback of Qobuz on the computer from the iPhone as well as it is done

If you install Squeezelite or Squeezelite-X (recommended) on the PC then
you will be able to control it with iPeng or similar. Is that what you
mean? You can’t use the Qobuz app itself though.

Please tell me, will I be able to remotely control the playback Hi-Res
music of Qobuz player on a Windows computer from an iPhone with iPeng
over a Wi-Fi network via LMS and the Qobuz plug-in on the Synology NAS

I have this issue too. Seems to require a complete rescan of my library

Isn't that a rather odd desig? Leaving it to the client to report back
what's been delivered from the server? What use has those data? Are
content owner not to be credited if user skip 30 seconds of a track?

They're not alone with this approach. I see the same with other
streaming services. They mostly differ in the level of information they
want to have. Qobuz unfortunately is one of the most complicated, as
they also want to know about seeking (how often, how much), total
listening time per track (incl. repetition due to seeking, missed parts
due to seeking etc.).

Even Spotify relies on the player to report back, and they don't provide
any information about it, as they assume you're using their closed
source libraries only.

I came to the conclusion that the reason is the lack of free time for
the additional work on the plugin, and had hopes that at some point in
time it might get updated with more goodies.

I think it's both: limited spare time, and the lack of documentation.
More time could compensate for the missing docs. Or docs could save time
in development... But lack of both makes things hard to achieve.

This does make it difficult to make sense of box sets while using the
Qobuz plugin. Oddly enough, when a box set from Qobuz is added to the
LMS library, it then shows up as individual discs in My Music, but only
when using Material skin, not in the LMS default web interface. The
setting for "Group Discs" might have some influence on the default
interface behavior.

Usually running latest beta LMS nightly on Raspberry Pi OS with virtual
players (Squeezelite and Airplay bridge). Occasionally using SB Radio,
Boom or Classic.

Hi,

If you want the comfort of the original app, use lms-connect app. With
this app, you can select your music in the app and share it to lms. You
find it in the 3rd-party- software section here in this forum. Works
like a charm.

Oh yes, there is! :)

It really would be nice to be able to sort the music in the LMS plugin
in the different ways that are available in the Qobuz web player and
app.

For example, right now in the LMS plugin, under the artists' "Album"
view all albums are bundled together with the alphabetical sorting
order.

In the Qobuz web player and app, you can sort the albums by year/release
date, and they can be separated by type (studio albums, live,
compilations, etc).

This approach to sorting can really help when browsing through the
catalogues of artists that you are not that familiar with.

Also, in the LMS plugin, the contents of large box sets are presented as
a single list of all tracks bundled together, while in the web player
and app the songs are separated under CD1, CD2, CD3, etc.

The other great option for discovering music in the Qobuz web player and
app is the possibility to click on the music label's name and see its
catalogue.

For example, when I clicked on Folkways Records I have discovered a
trove of music that I didn't know of.

I really hope that at some point more of the features that are available
in the original app will find its way to the LMS plugin and elevate it
to a completely new level. :)

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked the account and the login page, and
I use my email address as the user ID. I tried using my first name just
in case, but it didn't work. Here's the strange part: when I changed my
ID back to my email, LMS logged in. The log shows more data now:

There will be more expert replies than mine. However, your log looks
like the Username and Password are the problem. I am a satisfied Qobuz
subscriber and run the LMS plugin on Daphile, a headless linux setup.

In the LMS Qobuz plugin, the "Qobuz account" is my Username, not my
email. It is case-sensitive. In the Qobuz app on Windows, the Login Name
is my email. Does your trial version have an account or username in
addition to your email?

The password is the same for the plugin and the app.

Yes, I'm syncing players with the group plugin.

Code:

"format_id":7

shows up with group players, as well as with individual players.
Well, I *thought* I could play hi res files on my players, with the SBs
having external dacs connected via coax. I now see that the files are
downsampled for the SBs. Thanks for pointing that out.

Hello,

You can try this:
1-Use pluggin "online music integration" to integrate Qobuz library in
Daphile
2-Use Platine/"others navigation Mode" and select Album and Artist Of
Album

With Material Skin:
Go to My Music > Albums : you will see your Favorites. Button AZ ont the
top permit to order display by:
- Album name
- Artist, Album Name
- Artist, year, album
- Year, Album
- Year, Artist,Album

If you choose My Music > ARtist, it's order by artist name. Then when
you choose an artist, you can order Album display like explain.

It's also works with all list created in "others navigation mode"(I
created several for different music style)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz.com streaming plugin

2022-10-24 Thread Michael Herger

I have a studio subscription to Qobuz and the plugin works for playing
16-bit, 44.1kHz Flac music. I however can't get hi-res files to stream
to my players. I have 24-bit, 192k local files that will play fine to
all my players (pCPs, SB classics, SB2), but Qobuz hi res songs always
display as ~750-850kbps, 44.1k.

Are you syncing players? Please note that the SBs can't do 192k. They
would need to transcode files. The Qobuz plugin would only request the
highest sample rate possible.

You could set the logging level for plugin.qobuz to INFO
(Settings/Advanced/Logging), then see what "format_id" is requested.

Qobuz settings (plugin v2.6.1) are set to FLAC hi-res. What other
settings should I check/change?

Thanks,

I just found that if I send the origin Qobuz URL to LMS via JsonRPC,
only mp3 quality is played even the setting of the plugin is "Flac Hi

{"id":1,"method":"slim.request","params":["bb:bb:14:dc:88:26",["playlist","play","https://open.qobuz.com/track/151020043"]]}

It's a little complicated... The plugin is a bit on the conservative
side when guessing what format to play. In the above case there's no
indicator whether the track would be available in lossless or not.
Therefore the plugin plays safe and falls back to MP3.

I could probably add another lookup to get the missing piece of
information from the API.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz.com streaming plugin

2022-10-19 Thread whitman

Doing a little research, it seems that Spotify, Tidal, and Apple Music,
at least, all have the facility to make playlist folders. So evidently
there is a demand for something that, in Spotify, I find a very useful
feature for organising what over time can become quite a bevy of
playlists, and I'd still love to be able to use something similar in
Qobuz.

I'm guessing that if the Qobuz plugin via LMS/Material isn't going to
have this facility any time soon, then it might need to happen natively
in Qobuz's own app. A little more fishing around, though, gives me the
impression that Qobuz are not overly responsive to user feedback and
feature requests. Has anyone here had any experience of asking Qobuz for
new features?

Michael, understood. And I guess from the lack of replies from others
here to this question that there's not much demand for such a facility.

1. Michael Herger is the person to ask. I suspect it would be possible
but he has a long list of other stuff to do.

2. There is a hybrid way. You can create LMS playlists that contain
Qobuz tracks. Downside is that if you do this and then open such a
playlist a few weeks later you won’t immediately SEE the details of the
Qobuz tracks but when you hit play they will be picked up if that makes
sense.

1. Not currently implemented in LMS.

2. I don't think Qobuz has this feature. Its not available in either
their web or mobile interfaces.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz.com streaming plugin

2022-10-17 Thread whitman

I’m trying Qobuz for a free month. Previously only used Spotify for
streaming. I’m primarily attracted by Qobuz’s hi-res content.

I’m using it with the Qobuz plugin on LMS and Material Skin. Two
questions:

1. How do I change the order that my Fvourited albums appear? They
default to date-added order, but I want alphabetical by artist, as
offered in the Qobuz app. Depsite thast being my choden option in the
Qobuz app, the LMS plugin does not offer this as far as I can see. Am I
missing a way to do this?

2. How can I make folders within the Playlists secion? I use them a lot
in Spotify, and for me they’re really useful to organise that section.
Without them, I have a very long and unruly set of playlists. Again, am
I missing a way to do this?

Always good when someone else confirms that you aren’t imagining things!
Hopefully Michael will see and add to his bug list for OMLI. It’s by no
means a show stopper and easy workaround so just a minor issue really.

Whatever was happening five days ago, it's not happening now. When
playing hi-res tracks from Qobuz, LMS now displays the correct sample
rate, not exceeding the maximum defined in Settings. Maybe the glitch
was on Qobuz's end, or maybe there was some error in my system that was
corrected by a reboot.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz.com streaming plugin

2022-09-30 Thread RobbH

Because of some issues with internet service, I currently have the Qobuz
plugin set to use "FLAC Hi-Res 24 bits / 96 kHz" as the preferred
format. When I play a file with 192 kHz sample rate, LMS displays the
original sample rate:

Code:

File Format: FLAC
  Bitrate: 3345kbps CBR
  Sample Rate: 192.0 kHz
  Sample Size: 24Bits

On one DAC that makes it easy to check status, I see that what's playing
is actually 96 kHz.

What's happening here? Shouldn't Qobuz be handling any downsampling,
sending a 96 kHz stream? The information displayed suggests Qobuz is
sending the original 192 kHz stream and LMS is having to transcode, But
that would negate the purpose of that setting, so I doubt that's the
case.

As far as I can tell, everything seems to be working as it should (for
me, anyway). It's just that the info display is confusing. But I can
live with some confusion.

players (Squeezelite and Airplay bridge). Occasionally using SB Radio,

I'm sorry, when you said "So, I guess what I am asking is how to search
Playlists in Qobuz", I assumed your question was about searching
playlists.

Just so I've got your solution correct, you need to search the Qobuz app
with a playlist name, not the playlist name followed by the username as
listed by the Qobuz LMS plugin. So in your example, you need to search
for "Late Night Jazz" and not "Late Night Jazz - cashofmoney"? Great,
that's useful to know, although I think I might have seen that said
before, can't think where.

Nevertheless, I suspect that geoblocking is in use here. I can't find
the playlist from the cashofmoney account in any application. I get
probably only users from Germany. But what I understand is that you can
only add playlists as favorites in the native qobuz app and not in the
plugin. I personally manage my favorites directly in qobuz and not via
the plugin. Am very happy to be able to use qobuz with piCorePlayer at
all. Many thanks for this to the developers who put time and energy into
it.

It solves the problem for me perfectly. Once again... If you use a
Qobuz app for your phone or PC, you can indeed find the User Created
Playlists by searching... And if you mark that Playlist as a Favorite
(Or 'subscribe' to it) , it will now show up in the Qobuz Web Control
under 'My Playlists'... And it will also show up in LMS under 'My
Playlists' - Which is exactly what I was trying to accomplish.

Well, for anyone following this problem..., here is a solution. You
can search the Qobuz App on Android, iPhone, MAC or PC and search "Late
Night Jazz", then select playlists... The Apps will return Public
Playlists... then Subscribe to that playlist and it will show up in LMS
as a Qobuz Favorite So this is the 'Work Around' as I'm,
guessing you cannot mark the Playlist a Favorite within LMS ?? Correct?

As P-Kay says, by searching for "Late Night Jazz - cashofmoney" you are
adding a username (cashofmoney) to the playlist name "Late Night Jazz"
but the Qobuz search doesn't recognise the addition of a user name. You
would need to search for "Late Night Jazz" and then in the playlists
that are returned by that search choose the one created by cashofmoney.
I don't think you can search at all by user name, so searching for
"cashofmoney" wouldn't work.

Panoramas" etc, select "Playlists" and you will see a list of playlist
that meet your search term.

Oh sorry, I'm out of there. But I actually can't find "Late Night Jazz -
cashofmoney" via the native app either. I can only find playlists with
"Late Night Jazz". I guess that "- cashofmoney" is a username and this
can not be searched?

Yes, I can see My Playlists... But, I'm trying to find other public

As an example how would I find the ones that I have circled. -- Try to

Having said it happens infrequently, it happened quite often today! I
have made the change on one of my Pi's and it seems to have worked,
although with a problem like this one, it's hard to be sure. I did play
an album where it happened a couple of times though and after the
changes it didn't happen. The question remains , what to do with
players where these parameters can't be changed? Is there something
that could changed on the server side or can the plugin be changed?

Thanks, I've done the same as you and all is well at the moment with my
RPI player. It also occasionally misbehaves when using the desktop
player built into Squeezelite-X. I presume there are some similar
settings required there but I can't see where the buffer parameters
would be entered?

Any ideas

Thanks for the quick reply. I can do longer searches in the browser and
see if anything is of interest. The longer searches are mostly helpful
with classical music, where a lot of results can be generated for a
composer or orchestra. I was looking for a setting to resolve the 200
limit for awhile, so I won't have to do that any longer. Thanks again

My Qobuz subscription allows Hi-Res playback and download. Playback will

LastMix is another plugin of mine which uses Last.fm to create mixes.
You won't need to do anything about Last.fm. The playback would use your
subscribed online service(s), eg. Qobuz, and local files. It will create
mixes based on what you had in your play queue. Eg. you start an album,
it will mix in "similar" music when the album has finished playing.

It's applied everywhere. As a jazz fan, I don't get assaulted with
cRAP, Rawk or HipHop every time I want to play something. Only jazz.
It's bliss. You set the filters once, and they stick. I assume there
must be an API for the filters.

Example of the app's main screen when jazz and classical filters are
selected. No sign of anything but jazz and classical anywhere in the
app. Same for their web player.

On that Pi you need to set the max sample rate to be 96000. It’s sending
192000 to the speakers which they can’t deal with.

Perhaps the problem is unique to my use case then. Specifically, I have
a RPI player feeding a pair of Meridian DSP speakers which accept a
digital signal. The speakers cannot go beyond 24/96 but the RPI will
output the full 24/192 stream when available. In this case the speakers
don't play anything. However, I have a desktop system also fed by an RPI
which has a DAC capable of playing the full stream so I would rather not
limit it in the global settings.

Is there another way to limit the output from the RPI feeding the

That shouldn’t be necessary unless you are talking about synced players
perhaps?

Morning All

I’ve just signed up to Qobuz and started enjoying the lovely high
quality streams with this excellent plugin.

I have a question about the preferred quality setting. I’ve searched
through the thread but can’t see a definitive answer. Basically, is it
possible to define the preferred quality on a per player basis as
opposed to a global setting.

I have a couple of players which can deal with the full 24/192 stream
(when available) but other players go silent on this setting. Being able
to set it on a per player basis would obviously resolve this.

Best wishes
Ashley

It’s most obviously applied in New Releases where the listing is
filtered in the Qobuz app depending on Genre(s) selected.
It may apply elsewhere but I don’t use it either!
