You don't provide enough information for anyone to help.
Do you already own a previous version of SpamSieve? From your brief
description, it appears that you do. In that case, where you enter the
code is different. If not, it should be in the opening dialog you receive
when you launch SpamSieve. It's just not clear what your situation is.

I suppose it's possible that the "SpamSieve - Evaluate.scpt" file
inside PowerMail is damaged. If that's the case, re-installing 5.0
would help.

Sorry to hear it did not help - did you do a search for SpamSieve to make
sure you only have 1 copy? because with the download of PM 5 you got
another copy of it...

just hoping this is it - had been a problem for me until CTM helped me
and asked if I had another version of SpamSieve and indeed I found some
stacked away version of SpamSieve on my drive and trashed that one, after
that all worked fine.

I now also tried launching PM with cmd-opt down, and asked to reset all

SpamSieve dosn't work anymore with PM5!

2004-05-25 Thread listes

I used the last PM5 beta version for a while in a folder on the desktop,
instead of the application folder. Then I replaced the beta with v. 5.0,
and I input my own reg. number. Up to then everything worked properly
with SpamSieve (which I had bought separately, long ago).

Then, I moved the PM5 folder from the desktop to its final place -the
applications folder.

And well, since that very moment, PM5 doesn't connect with SpamSieve
anymore. **all** spam falls down in my incoming folder, and I verified
that the SpamSieve icon doesn't blink as it used to for each message
analysed -indeed SpamSieve doesn't even start if it is not already
running.
It seems the only time PM talks to SpamSieve is when I manually declare
a spam message (then, the SS icon blinks).
I also launched my previous PowerMail 4.x, it works perfectly with
SpamSieve...

Help!
What can I do?!
I tried to compact the database, check consistency, I re-walked through
the spam setup assistant (I even changed this setup to something else
than SpamSieve, saved, then relaunched it and re-set it back to
SpamSieve)...
Nothing!!

Thank you for any advice...

The coupon should be "CPN" followed by a string of about 20 numbers.
The words you are seeing are something to do with work and a
church...not sure how that got into your order confirmation mail.

If you have already entered a SpamSieve name and serial number, and
these were accepted (i.e. it says, "Thank you for purchasing
SpamSieve..."), then you do not need to enter the coupon.

Coupons may be entered either in SpamSieve's Purchase window or at the

Is this being put into SpamSieve itself? Perhaps you should go to
SpamSieve's website and enter it there? If you are entering this into a
website, try a different web browser. I've noticed sometimes I have to
use one browser or another at a site in order for their shopping carts to
work properly.

I'm just making a suggestion here, but I have no real knowledge as I
haven't yet bought the PM5 upgrade. I will be getting the SpamSieve

Coupon Code Again

2004-05-25 Thread Anthony Sanna

Here's something I didn't notice when I originally asked this question...

Part of the "PowerMail Registration Info" e-mail I received was how to
register SpamSieve. Here's what that part of the message said:

--
REGISTERING SPAMSIEVE:
--
1. Your SpamSieve coupon code is Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kirche und Judentum

2. Copy and paste it into the 'Coupon code' field of SpamSieve's
'Purchase' dialog, then click the 'Redeem...' button
---

Doing the above, just left the "Redeem" button grayed-out, but then I
read the following in the SpamSieve "Purchase dialog:

If you have a coupon code (beginning with "CPN")

Obviously, "Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kirche und Judentum" doesn't begin with
"CPN", and not knowing German, I haven't a clue as to what
"Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kirche und Judentum" means. Can anyone translate for me?

Got 5

2004-05-25 Thread cheshirekat

I got my version 5 key today. I was really excited about the new features
I read in the release notes, so I quickly made a backup of my PowerMail
files. Dropped my PM Key onto the new application and was glad that my
old stuff was updated very speedily.

But, I've noticed a major problem with the update. No speech recognition.
Or at least, all my custom speech recognition commands were no longer
available. So, I tried unsuccessfully to make new ones. The speech
recognition window acted like it worked, but none of the commands I just
created showed in the Speech Commands window. Nor did anything happen
when the commands were spoken. So, it looks like the new version de-
activates customizing the speech commands except for the system defaults
that allow switching to different applications and closing windows? Does
anyone else use speech recognition in PowerMail without any problems?

I'll repair permissions and other stuff and hope something gets the
speech recognition working again. I use the speech recognition daily in
PowerMail and never had any trouble before, nor in other apps. It was
definitely working in PM 4.2.1 earlier before I upgraded. But this is an
accessibility feature that will force me to go back to version 4 if it's
broken and no fixes are planned in the near future. I have hand problems
that are alleviated with the respite speech recognition provides.
