Re: [Repeater-Builder] Two-Tone Sequential Coding Standard
Bob, Well, I guess the Rosetta Stone document is not as valuable as I had hoped. I went through it carefully, but found no statement of tone tolerance. However, I can infer from the printed frequencies- which are specified to 1/10 Hz- that the tolerance is +/- 0.1 Hz or better. That jibes with your assumption of well under one percent. 73, Eric Lemmon WB6FLY "Bob M." wrote: > I think all we wanted to find out was the frequency tolerance. Is that > in the document? Re: [Repeater-Builder] Re: Wireless Auto Patch
Mathew, just a thought here. Have him contact the cell company and offer them a place on his property to set up a cell tower. This would help him and the cell company - the company would make more money from more people being able to use their system in that area. Plus, the company can pay him for the use of his land. Just a thought. Rod Hmmm, well goes to show that our phone company here does not know all they claimed to know. I have a customer that will just be over excited. His problem is he lives in such an area that cell phone coverage is very poor, we put up an antenna, but then he his tied to a wire, which does not work well for a shop, not to mention that he is in a wheel chair. I called three different carriers, and was told that there was no devices that would allow him to become unattached. Although, last year they did mention the $600.00 repeater for cell service, not an option at that price. Well now I can show him and I'm sure he will buy one to make life much easier. Mathew Yahoo! [Repeater-Builder] Two-Tone Sequential Coding Standard
A week ago, there was an exchange of postings regarding the specifications of the two-tone sequential paging format. After some searching of my Motorola archives, I found a document which I believe is the "Rosetta Stone" we seek. It is Motorola Publication 6881103C80, entitled "Two-Tone Sequential Tone Coding." This seven-page document includes the timing and deviation specifications, along with charts listing the various code plans. It costs about $3 from Motorola Parts. 73, Eric Lemmon WB6FLY Yahoo! - Original Message - From: "Maire-Radios" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > there is the PL units and the DPL units you can not mix them. and only > one tone per repeater. also you don't need the rib. I got two questions on the R100. On the board that is attached to the lid, when you unlock it and rotate it up, at the top edge, are spots for 3 switches. When Repeater Disable is on, the LED on the corner lights up. I presume that that inhibits the entire repeater. But there's a spot for PL disable (the switch is missing but there's evidence that something was there). If a switch is installed and flipped on, will it disable the PL / DPL ? And, I presume the big connector in the center of that same board is the connection for "accessories" like a controller? I'd like to find how to connect something like an ID-8 or maybe a NHRC-2 into it, mostly for Part 90 ID. :-) Thanks! _Ray_KBØSTN Yahoo! Re: [Repeater-Builder] MTR 2000 Repeater Intermod
Jim, This IS interesting! Just for grins, try disconnecting the external controller and set up the MTR2000 as a repeater. It's very important to set the activation and hold-in options to "carrier and PL/DPL" as I mentioned in an earlier posting. I suspect that the external controller is bypassing the audio during hang time, and allowing the rogue signal to enter. If the symptom goes away when the MTR2000 is operating autonomously, the problem lies in the external controller or possibly the way it is connected. Another thing to try is to set the TX Idle frequency away from the TX frequency. Try setting it to 144. MHz. 73, Eric Lemmon WB6FLY "Jim, K8COP" wrote: > Eric, > > I forgot to include that the station is used in the "base station > configuration". I have a CAT300DX hooked up to the station. Eric, I forgot to include that the station is used in the "base station configuration". I have a CAT300DX hooked up to the station. RE: [Repeater-Builder] Re: Wireless Auto Patch
Hi Mathew, You could try to do a passive antenna system & that would cost a whole lot less. The last time I purchased a cell extender they were not 600.00 but not sure what they recommended. I installed a passive system at a friends cabin in the cascades East of Eugene, OR and he has Nextel. He had 1 bar on his cell phone outside & could barley make a call so I installed a 800Mhg omni on the roof and a Larson stub antenna inside and he has all but 1 bar on his cell phone. Just as a note where he had the 1 bar on his phone was 32ft on the peak of the roof. Re: [Repeater-Builder] Wireless Auto Patch
Look up Tellular, they have cell phones specificly designd for what you are wanting to do. but be prepared for the sticker shock as they are not subsidised by the carrier and also are for a specialised market.
