Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills

Mandatory
- Includes installing, configuring, patching, clustering, updating and
monitoring the performance of the environment.
- Includes analysis of all aspects of the existing infrastructure in order
to provide recommendations to enhance system reliability, availability,
serviceability and scalability.
- The position requires in-depth knowledge of IBM Websphere 6.0/6.1/7.0/8.0
and experience in maintaining http web servers and load balancers, JVM heap
tuning, and monitoring tools such as JMeter and HP Loadrunner.
- Responsible for supporting, maintaining and optimizing mission critical
systems running on z/OS, AIX, Linux, and HP-UX environments.

Roles and responsibility

The position involves periodically working nights and weekends and being on
call for emergencies.
This is a leadership position requiring independent work skills as well as
excellent team dynamics.

Desirable Technical / Functional Skills

Nice To Have
- Strong knowledge and experience with a Linux/Websphere environment and
the ability to code in one or more scripting languages is necessary.
- Candidates with IBM Websphere Certifications preferred.
- Configuring WebSphere authentication and authorization with Active
Directory and legacy LDAP servers.

Engagement tasks:
- Performance monitoring of the WAS
- Configuring the WAS for optimal performance
- Create a deployment script for deploying EAR files in an automated fashion

- Suggest and implement improvements for a robust WAS environment
- Adjust the interface between WAS and HIS
- Additional tasks as necessary

Requirements:
- 8+ years of Web Application Server Experience
- 6+ years of Unix experience (Solaris, Linux)
- 2 years of Oracle / MS SQL Server Experience
- Perl, Shell scripting (CSH/KSH), JACL
- Familiarity with Exceed or other X Windowing Software
