CSAvian Pox CS

2010-01-20 Thread Heather King (LCA)
Hi All,

Anyone here have any anecdotal experience using CS on avian pox? I suspect we
have had a couple of house finches in my usual backyard flock succumb to it. It
is supposedly a virus, but I'm stuck as to how to get CS into MY backyard
songbird population in any good fashion. Last night, we had another actually
flutter to the back door and sit on the mat in full view of the housecat inside.

Symptoms I can see (yes, I picked it up to check for broken limbs, etc):

-Lesions on the sides of beak (softer tissues - corner of the mouth?)
-Apparent difficulty breathing, appears to be mouth related, not necessarily
lung related as I can hear a clicking sound near the beak
-1 very large lesion encompassing what would be the ball of the foot, close to
1 cm in diameter incorporating 3 of 4 toes

The bird is feisty appears strong, except for the breathing issue, so I don't
know how far along this would be in the disease.

Upon resending this, I checked...the little thing died
overnight, so it was apparently the end of the disease, whatever it was.

I'd like to see if CS would help out there, but falling rain and the birds
foul the water I put out...

Thanks,
Heather

CSRe: Elevated liver enzymes in a dog follow up

2008-01-10 Thread Heather King (LCA)
Hello All,

Many, many thanks to Brooks Bradley for his timely information on ALA (Alpha
Lipoic Acid)! I have only good news to report about my old Andy-dog. His
numbers have all reduced, some to completely normal and only 2 are still
slightly elevated after 5 weeks on ALA. Even our vet was impressed by the quick
turnaround and I have to say I'm completely overjoyed. His appetite has
somewhat returned, although I fear I've created a spoiled brat food-wise since
I've been trying various premium foods people foods for the past couple of
months trying to get him to eat anything at all and now he's just darn picky.
:-) I'm happy to deal with that though...his energy levels are increasing, so
he's playing more and seems nearly back to his old self.

Protocol:

-4 weeks: Milk thistle (1/2 human dose) + Sam-E (full human dose)
-Blood test liver numbers reduced, but not significantly with this part
-1 week: Milk thistle + Sam-E + ALA in the morning; ALA evening. (double daily
ALA dose)
-4 weeks: Milk thistle + Sam-E morning; ALA evening (single dose)
-Blood test: great results.

Again, thanks Brooks and to all of you who sent good wishes and great advice.

Heather

CSElevated liver enzymes in a dog

2007-12-05 Thread Heather King (LCA)
Hi All,

My beloved Andy is a 10 year old double-merle border collie who has recently
had his second geriatric blood panel done. I was looking to ease his arthritis
with a prescription NSAID, but when the panel came back with all 4 of the
enzyme levels high (2 were moderate last year), we couldn't do the
anti-inflammatory after all. So, we opted to try a month on Sam-E and Milk
Thistle, and the numbers have gone down, but not very much. The vet is
recommending an ultrasound biopsy. So I guess I have a few questions:

Does CS do much for the liver? Anyone have a dog whose liver recovered with
remedies other than drug therapy? Anything particularly effective? Should I be
expecting better results with the Sam-E than I'm getting? (I was told it would
help with joint pain and help detox the liver...). He hasn't been diagnosed
with Hepatitis; the doc just described it as similar to cirrhosis or weakening.
I don't understand that, really...

Perhaps I'm hesitant to do the biopsy because I had a dog who was living with
cancer diagnosed, but then I opted for the biopsy, which seemed to awaken the
cancer cells in the tumor so that it exploded in growth and I had to put the
dog down much sooner than expected. Not looking to repeat that.

And last but not least: any thoughts on a diet that a liver-sick dog will eat?
He turns his nose up at nearly everything these days. Frustrating...

Thanks for any advice.

CSDoes DMSO have a shelf life?

2007-04-23 Thread Heather King (LCA)
Hi All,

Have any of you experienced a lack of effect or sensation when using DMSO 90+%
straight after it's been sitting awhile? My husband used our roll-on applicator
twice this past week noted that he felt almost none of the characteristic
immediate itch tingle that he used to notice a year ago. Just curious if I
should DO something with it (shake it?) or get rid of it? My other bottle of
liquid pourable that I mix with CS seems to be fine, both purchased at the same
time...weird.

Thanks for any suggestions.

there ever any evidence of anything but shiny, pink, glass-like surfaces
inside. They actually expand the sections with air as they move along so they
can get clear camera shots even with that, it remained perfectly smooth,
clean pink. Not saying everyone is like me, but I eat as much or more red
meat than the next guy tend to overdo it on the diet (currently about 60
pounds overweight). Who knows...in my life, the evidence says that not eating

intestinal walls could be seen - the stuff that is often assumed to build
up and adhere in the lower bowel. I've been wondering lately whether I

love it plain with a 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper stirred in. YUM!

I have used CS in my pet's eyes, many times in fact. Emergency use as an
eye wash stings quite a bit, but is effective. I have blended the CS
50-50 in a shot glass with buffered saline solution (like for contact
lens rinse) and applied that multiple times daily with much less
stinging/reaction. It also worked just fine. In every case the eye
infection cleared within 1-3 days. Antibiotic eye ointments are
available and do a fine job on simple infections.
http://www.pawstogo.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPRODProdID=80 . If my
pet just had an infection, I'd use this because the ointment itself
provides a protective film as well as the antibiotic. If it was in
actual injury or a chronic infection, I'd also use the CS/saline.

CSMalaria questions

2005-12-13 Thread Heather King (LCA)
Hello Listers,

My Parents (65 68 years old) just returned from a year in Uganda
Malawi, with the longest bit of time spent in very primitive conditions
in Malawi. My Dad managed to contract malaria about 2 months ago and
only suffered symptoms for a short duration. They were both on
antibiotics nearly the whole time they were there, so I was wondering if
the antibiotics reduced his possible parasitic infection. Would he
basically still have malaria even though they haven't found much in his
blood to prove it? Also, in your opinion, what type of damage would
steady antibiotic use do an older person's immune system, if any? And
lastly, but probably more importantly, would CS have any effect on
malaria parasites? Lots of questions, I know. You all seem to have such
a vast body of experience that I'm hoping this set of Q's falls
somewhere inside that.

Thanks in advance,
Heather

was that live nerves were exposed when the amalgam was removed the pit was

super-fine fog, you snap it shut, it turns off. It has a small wall wart
power supply and comes with additional filters/wicks which draw the CS
up into the sonic vibration chamber.

I wonder if this is the unit someone said was discontinued...it works
like a champ and now I wish I'd gotten more of them.

Hope this description helps.

antibiotics kill good and bad bacteria. Demedex is also caused by stress

can help build a stronger immune system and help get rid of the Demedex

CSre: Snoring/Obstructive Sleep Apnea

2005-08-22 Thread Heather King (LCA)
Please forgive if this shows up twice...I got an error on the first
re-try. H.
~

Hello Wendy,

True sleep apnea is caused by the soft palette falling across the
opening to the esophagus, causing airway obstruction, resulting in
upwards of 700 or more wake-ups per night. What this means is the
sleeper is not actually able to get to REM sleep and is therefore not
rested, causing many health problems. The only way to tell if you have
this is to get a sleep study done. They put electrodes in various
places, measuring how many wake-ups you have during the night and how
much oxygen you are getting into your bloodstream. It is actually
considered a life-threatening condition and can result in heart failure,
not to mention the myriad possibilities for vehicular and on-the-job
accidents resulting from lack of restful sleep. I would strongly
recommend that your husband get a sleep study done soon...if he does
have Obstructive Sleep Apnea, he would likely be given a device called a
CPAP (Constant Positive Air Pressure) machine to wear while sleeping and
told to lose some weight. It's a very simple fix for a scary
condition...no drugs needed.

Just recounting my recent experiences personal health issues...

I agree. I've written before about how my cat prefers CS to the communal

switching his water to CS alone. A dab of peroxide on the wounds he's
fine in a day. He does love to drink CS though. Granted, this is pretty
superficial compared to liver problems, but I've found that CS tends to

Dr. John Lee identified over 15 years ago a hormonal imbalance in most
people in the industrial world. He was suffering from many symptoms
and
through his research uncovered a HUGE problem. Due to an over
abundance of
petroleum based products in our lives, our bodies become estrogen
dominant.
Petroleum based products can be plastics, fertilizers, additives to
food
etc.
Estrogen dominance is characterized by many of your symptoms. When you
related low libido, that sent up a big flag for me.
Prolonged Estrogen Dominance can lead to Fibromyalgia or a breaking
down of
the lining surrounding the nerves resulting in lots of pain.
Estrogen dominance can also lead to fuzzy headedness or not being able
to
think clearly, forgetfulness, ADD etc.
Be aware that if you decide to use a natural progesterone cream that
the
first month your symptoms will get worse. Then after your body is able
to
balance itself the symptoms can vanish.
The dark circles under the eyes could indicate allergies. A good
allergist
can identify what allergies you do have if any. If the body is
constantly
having to fight off the effects of food you are allergic to, that would
lead
to a lowered or compromised immune system.
I wish you well!

If there's been a single lick in the bowl by the slimy dog tongue, he

Baking soda gets the CS brown stains off my white laminate counter top
in the kitchen too. Just pour a little dry baking soda on the stain, add
a few drops of water to make a paste, and rub gently until it
disappears. There may be lingering particles that will re-stain in a day
or 2, but if you keep after it, eventually, it disappears for good. I
think tooth enamel, being smoother less porous than a laminate counter
top, will probably respond quite favorably.

RE: CSFinding a holistic dentist

2005-03-17 Thread Heather King (LCA)
I happened upon a more holistic dentist quite by accident...it turns
out that he's very young. Fresh out of school; just starting his
practice. He's managed to be very open to what his patients request and
has decided that he'll only fill with composite, never amalgam. He's
replaced 4 of my amalgam fillings already will probably finish the job
over the next 2 years (as my insurance allows). He told me that they're
finding that old amalgam causes the teeth to crack eventually because it
doesn't adhere well wears away from the tooth, allowing gaps that
encourage particles to wedge in bacteria to grow. The cracks take
years to form, but they almost always do. He believes in the composite
because it's inert (supposedly) once it's cured it adheres to the
tooth material in a much more complete bond.

I suppose getting a young/new one may help...finding a truly holistic
dentist may prove difficult. I can honestly say I've never actually
heard of such a thing. Pain-free, yes...holistic? Not so much.

Actually, I've found that if you don't let the chopped garlic sit in

deodorized or live alone. :-)

I quickly mince a fresh clove, put it on a spoon, then on my tongue
immediately wash it straight down like a vitamin. Don't chew it, don't
let it touch your cheeks. I heard somewhere (I think it was Alton
Brown's Good Eats, actually) that it's the volatiles (there are 2) that
are released from the garlic layers blend together in the first few
seconds of mincing. This is exactly the moment that garlic should be
ingested for maximum effect. I used a clove every morning for 3 months
to assist in getting rid of candida overgrowth...no one knew. :-) You
don't burp garlic doing it this way either...I should know; I did this
on an empty stomach every day. It worked wonders and I also had no
discernable body odor during this time...while I had the candida
overgrowth/imbalance, the BO was present.

Just my .02 cents...

possible
exposure and then during one's stay. I never heard of antibiotics

CSMalaria questions

My parents are heading to Africa for a 1-year mission through their

CS

2004-05-24 Thread Heather King (LCA)
Hi All,

Digging into the depths of your collective experience, will CS do
anything at all in either the prevention of or the healing of malaria?
My parents are heading to Africa for a 1-year mission through their
church and in my Mom's words are going to be taking antibiotics every
day to prevent malaria. I inherently mistrust blanket statements like
that, but after lurking for years on this list I know that those
particular blanket statements are begging to be examined...any light to
be shed? Are there good reasons why my Mom's doctor would be prescribing
antibiotics for daily use for malaria prevention? Should I question her
further about this?

Thanks in advance...

RE: CSRe: CS for fishes

2004-05-20 Thread Heather King (LCA)
It isn't necessarily bad for the fish themselves...it will kill your
TANK, however. The beneficial bacteria which help to keep your water
clean for the fish will die if exposed to CS, thus poisoning the fish.
It's best to treat the fish with CS OUTSIDE the tank in a small
container as a dip-method, since the CS is actually harmless to the fish
itself. Then return the treated fish to the tank. NEVER put CS in a tank
or pond.

CSWalgreen Ultrasonic Humidifier

2004-02-08 Thread Heather King (LCA)
Hi Richard (and list),

I purchased the $20 Personal Ultrasonic Humidifier from Walgreen the other day,
but I noticed in trying to set up the process that it has a charcoal filter as
part of the uptake. Did you encounter this and if so, did you just leave it in
place? I wonder about it filtering out all the CS/DMSO/MSM. On the other hand
it is easily removable, but then there is no way so siphon up the mixture,
since the filter portion reaches down into the reservoir. Without the filter,
there is no reach. If you know what I'm referring to, can you recommend a way
to bypass the little filter? Perhaps plastic tubing? I have the receipt could
take it back, but I really like the size ( price) so if I can find a way to
rearrange it that would be the best thing. If you changed it to suit you, I'd
like to know how you did it. :o)

Thanks for any suggestions,
Heather King

RE: CSAsthma ..Update

2003-11-04 Thread Heather King (LCA)
This vaporizor sounds like the one I have...if so, make sure you remove
the activated charcoal filter in the bottom of the unit. Mine has it in
a removable blue plastic box-like container, set into the base unit. It
WILL filter out the particles in the CS from what I understand. Which is
not what you want...you just want the unit to vaporize CS.

Just a thought...

Garnet,

You definitely don't need a prescription to get a nebulizer. I just got
a Vicks ultrasonic nebulizer at CVS drugstore for $50.00. A few days
later I saw the ad in the paper for the comparable Walgreen ultrasonic
nebulizer for $29 with a $10 mail in rebate (making it only $20). Oh
well, the price of going ahead and buying something... It's a desk top
unit and not very portable, but it will be a great addition to my
arsenal of sickness fighting weapons. I put about 1/2 gallon of my best
CS in it and have been taking a breath of mist 2 or three times a day.
It's so convenient. I turn on the power and a second or two later a
cool mist of CS is blowing out. I take a deep breath of it and turn it
off immediately when I'm done breathing it. I'm getting my lungs slowly
accustomed to it so that if I get one of the dreaded winter respiratory
infections, I'll be ready. Of course, by doing this, I probably won't
be getting any respiratory infections...

I had white laminate countertops in my former home (I know...what was I

peroxide (pouring a puddle letting it sit for hours-overnight, even)

alternating tries, but eventually I was successful. I never did find

RE: CSNitrite in water

2003-07-01 Thread Heather King (LCA)
I don't know a ready source for this, but I used to use an absorbent
called Zeolite to absorb nitrites in my pond water. It looks like
activated charcoal granules, only it's white and does a pretty good job.
I kept it in a porous plastic basket-like container and recharged it
every 3 months by soaking/rinsing it, container all in a clean bucket
of salt water (rock salt tap water), then rinsed thoroughly in fresh
before returning to the pond. The salt water purges the buildup of
nitrites and the fresh rinses it all away.

As for human drinking water consumption, I have no idea if this would
work for you or not...I do know that the basic premise works just fine,
though my koi were always healthy and the dogs cats at my house
preferred to drink out of the pond instead of the bowl in the house if
they could.

Hi Taylor,

I don't know where you are located, but even tropical fruit-eating birds
require protein to start life. Hummingbirds feed their young insects for the
first weeks to get them fat feathered, so it stands to reason that fruit
juice (while high-energy) is not enough for a little guy to get strong. Also,
unless he has an infection of some sort, CS probably wouldn't revive him much
since little guys his size need to eat something many times during the
day...like every hour or two. My thoughts are warmth protein (whatever form
it takes) and often.

would return, find him and feed him. I was to check him this morning.

RE: CSOT: Migraines

2003-05-01 Thread Heather King (LCA)
Migraines happen for different reasons in different people. Finding an
appropriate remedy is often trial error, both on the part of the doc
the patient. In my case, I discovered that mine are triggered by chronic
soft-tissue tension (ie:stress) in my shoulders, causing hunching
tendon stiffness.

My Mom's occur as a result of hormonal imbalances due to menopause, my
friend's are a result of eating trigger foods.

I found a very good osteopath, who will do much more aggressive
adjustments than a typical chiropractor, allowing the tendons to stretch
increasing blood flow. I've also learned how to do my own back neck
stretches when I feel a headache coming on. I can pretty much make it
disappear within 10 minutes after stretching relaxing backwards over
an exercise ball. (Very large, soft ball).

Everyone is different...keep searching until you find what works. I'm so
glad to find that mine had such a simple answer that I now have
control over them.

Good luck!
Heather

RE: CSalgae

2002-12-03 Thread Heather King (LCA)
I don't believe I've seen CS actually kill algae yet. Or clarify
alginated water either. It will, however kill all beneficial bacteria
that your pond supports, so whatever you do, don't put it back into the
pond (if your pond supports other life forms). Algae is technically a
plant. In order to kill algae, all nutrients that specifically feed
plants must be eliminated since it IS technically a plant, it requires
photosynthesis to thrive. Without light nutrients, it will die. You
can kill it using UV light specifically you can filter it out, or use
a non-toxic polymer settler to sink it or smother it with non-toxic
dyes, but for the health of the pond, it's best to just try to minimize
it's presence. Unless of course it's a decorative pond with no living
creatures in it. Then whatever chemicals you use wouldn't really matter.
If your pond is fairly natural, exposed to sunlight, unfiltered, close
to a lawn (fertilizer) or has fish/bird waste in it, algae will grow. No
matter what. The presense of algae is mostly unsightly, not harmful.
It's a sign that the water is fairly clean or in the process of being
cleaned. It's a nuisance when it blooms, but for the most part, it is
serving some purpose in it's own little niche. Personally, in my koi
pond, I used to just settle it out with a polymer a couple of times
between cleanings and make sure that no fertilizer ever got close to the
edge. Also, if you have fish, don't feed them in the winter. Since most
of the bacteria in a natural pond cease activity in cooler temps, the
waste uneaten food in colder water (under 55 degrees) will overwhelm
the biologics (bacteria) that digest it the result will be MORE
fertilizer for the algae. Balance is the key.

I had a white laminate counter top at my previous home

Please note that Heather King said she buys it by the five pound bucket,
not 5 gallon. I bought the one gallon bucket for $50, shipping included.
I think handcrafted organic vegetable oil all the way from the
Philipines
for $12.50 per quart is very reasonable.

Ginger in any form...fresh, steeped in tea, sipped slowly. Also,
peppermint tea is a great stomach soother, but from what I understand,
peppermint is for indigestion ginger is definitely for nausea. Ginger
ale may work in a pinch, but slices of fresh ginger root in a cup of
boiling water can't be beat. I used it when I had the flu so bad I had
the dry heaves and it calmed my stomach before the first cup was

How about this one. Just a handful of companies can control the

terminator technology, all seeds produced by the plants are sterile.
Therefore, the farmer MUST buy new seeds every year, at the going price,

RE: CSCS in an Aquarium

2002-04-09 Thread Heather King (LCA)
I too have used CS to take care of fungus fin rot on individual koi,
outside the pond. Works great! I went through a period of time where
every fish had something disgusting going on it wasn't until I tried
CS that I got the most control. Carp pox was not controlled with this
method at that time, although as I sold off my show fish (they grew too
big for the pond), the remaining koi with pox gradually got better. I
discovered that if the pond water temp remained above 68 degrees, the
patches gradually disappeared until I could find nothing on any fish,
with no other remedy. It may have been the CS, but it happened over such
a long period that I'm not sure if the limited exposure they had to it
outside the pond would have been enough. From what I have read, it is
basically a cosmetic deformity that otherwise doesn't contribute to the
demise of the fish unless it is in an unfortunate spot (gills, eyes,
etc). Also, I believe that the increasing bio-health of the water (due
to fewer fish lower waste load) the increase in temperature
contributed to the pox elimination. There are still 3 of the 5 koi who
had it in that pond there are still no signs of it.

CS / Fresh water fish.

I have been using CS for treating fresh water fish, mostly
various carp varieties i.e. goldfish to koi.

In the pond or the in the aquarium the fish waste material is
usually consumed using various types of biological filters which depend
on bacteria and oxygen to function. A normal aquarium system is set up
where the filter media, usually gravel or baked clay granules lines the
bottom of the tank and oxygenated water is constantly moved through it
using air tubes. The bacteria eventually flourishes within the media and
breaks down the waste in to a less hazardous mixture. For ponds the same
principles apply but on a much larger scale. The media is not within the
pond but contained within separate filter tanks. The introduction of CS
in to the system will attack the bacteria within the media and kill the
filter. The fish will eventually die, poisoned by their own waste.

Apart from some parasites almost all of the hazards to fresh
water fish are singled celled and thus perfect for the CS menu. By
removing the fish from the pond or aquarium CS can be used for the fast
effective, non toxic and very cheap treatment for white spot ,velvet,
fin body rot, fungus flukes etc etc. I use a mixture of 650ml CS @ 6
PPM to I litre pond water, adding the CS gradually, keeping a watch full
eye on the patient. I suggest that readers might start at a lower level
, 200 ml per 1litre, to gain trust in the treatment. Paradoxically carp
pox is singled celled but I have as yet not achieved any results, I may
try injection.

I usually tell people that if they need to treat a fish,
to isolate it in a plastic bag by itself. We used to breed fresh water
fish, actually came out with a nice purple metallic colored guppy that
was very popular in the pet stores and I guess I still have a fondness
for things with fins. Anyhow, once an aquarium is established, it has
its own little eco-system that depends on a balance of bacteria and
other things. If that established balance is disturbed, it can cause a
lot of fish to start floating on their bellies! Colloidal silver in an
aquarium environment is something that will most definitely disturb it.

I don't know about specific supplements for either, but I do know that
diet figures VERY prominently in living with either condition. Limiting

Go take a look at Dom's site in re to soy kefir.
You can make kefir with soy milk, as well as rice milk, almond milk,
goat milk, even Water kefir. (kefir d'aqua)

The one draw back with soy kefir, the grains do not do as well in soy
milk.
Allowing them to ferment, periodically in other milks- dairy, goat is
necessary to keep the grains healthy, productive.
I believe Dom recommends at least once every 4 or 5 days.

Hey! I've been making my own Kefir for several months now. It's quite
the amazing stuff. I'm getting pretty good at it too. There is no
comparison to yogurt and kefir. Kefir is superior in every way. Do a
search and you'll be amazed what can be done with it, and the health
benefits. Heck, you can even make your own booze with it in a pinch lol.
Like CS, the cost is very low, and only the initial price of the grains,
but they grow and multiply, then you give them to someone else. The
cycle never ends.

RE: CSOT: Kefir was Yeast infections

2002-01-17 Thread Heather King (LCA)
If one is lactose intolerant, one may find that kefir is quite tolerable
as the bio organisms in the product consume the majority (if not all) of
the lactose in the milk, leaving (at times) a definite separation of
curd whey. Usually, though, milk kefir is creamy thick, reminiscent
of buttermilk in texture yogurt in flavor. Kefir can be made in a
variety of mediums, such as non-chlorinated water with fresh lemon
dried fig, fruit juice, coconut milk or soy (although with all the
conversations about soy G.E. lately, I'd wonder if I was limiting my
overall benefits by using it). Here's a wonderful link to educate

Josephine,

Some of those ultrasonic humidifiers have particulate filters in
their bases made up of activated charcoal. Did you remove one (or have
one in your humidifier)? The charcoal will remove CS particles from the
water before it is vaporized...I discovered the hard way (long
respiratory infection) that in order to get real CS out, the filter
cannot remain in the unit. See if you have a filter in yours remove
it...you may get even better results.

Hello Fellow Silver Searchers,

I have just completed a scan for various bacteria in my intestinal
system. The Dr. thought I might have Leaky Gut so she ordered a very
comprehensive testing. It came back with the results that I don't have
Leaky Gut Syndrome, and no candida, but it also said that I have Zero
amount of Lactobacillus. She speculated that the colloidal silver
killed not only the bad bacteria, but also the good. I have had IBS for
about a year and have been experiencing very fast transit times for my
food. She also speculated that the CS would NOT have been a problem if
the transit times of my digestive process had not been so fast. IE: the
CS is still active by the time it gets to my intestines so it kills

Josephine,

Some of those ultrasonic humidifiers have particulate filters in their
bases made up of activated charcoal. Did you remove one (or have one in
your humidifier)? The charcoal will remove CS particles from the water
before it is vaporized...I discovered the hard way (long respiratory
infection) that in order to get real CS out, the filter cannot remain in
the unit. See if you have a filter in yours remove it...you may get
even better results.

I used about a fourth to a third quart CS almost every night. Just ran

humidifier and not the other types.

Oh, and I also added some to her drinking water too.

No, the dog needs a lot more therapy as her ailment has been a long-term

I now have a CS generator and have made and used about 2 quarts so far.

I believe it doesn't - only - why would you want to take an antibiotic?
anti = against biosis=life; an against life product - it would only
impair
the person's immune system.

Does taking CS make the pill less effective?

A colloid does not interreact with a drug unless it contained fungal,
bacterial or viral contamination.

A young adult who is on the pill and who has just come down with 'flu

the CS is said to be a natural antibiotic. She seems to think that
the
pill is made ineffective by antibiotics, thus increasing the risk of
unwanted pregnancy. She would like to take CS but doesn't want to
become
pregnant right now. :, giving up sex for a while doesn't seem to be an

[The population would decline if it was ;) ]

I am not aware of antibiotics affecting the pill and, if so,

Avoid antibiotics, take the CS, continue sex, continue the pill.

providing clean, healthy feed and large enough pens for cattle to move

in open fields with room to move, fed a variety of good foods (not just

 Hi Gladys,

 Whoa!!

Diatomaceous Earth is NOT dangerous. You can drink it. You can bathe
in it. You *can* dust your underarms with it (if you're so inclined).
Just don't breath heavy concentrations of it (the same goes of almost
any chemical, including alcohol or vinegar).

You can make it into a paste (it doesn't become inactivated in
water, which contradicts another message in this thread).

DE can be dusted on house plants -- or garden plants -- to keep most
insects away. It can be rubbed into the coats of cats and dogs, and
the animals won't get hurt by DE when they lick their coats (it
probably will help them). It can be dusted onto pets' bedding, and
into rugs. It will drastically reduce the population of carpet mites
(a major cause of household allergies).

Like colloidal silver, diatomaceous earth is one of the great,
 all-around preventatives produced by nature.

Subject: CSOT: RECENT RESULTS

To all interested list members. Recently, through a rather
serendipitous circumstance, we discovered that a variation of our
original arthritis protocol appears to offer a welcome
reinforcement/improvement methodology.

We have been experiencing a significant incidence (20 to
25%) of re-incursion of measureable arthritic symptomsespecially
among our older experimental volunteers-primarily, but not
exclusively of the osteoarthritis types. We invoked several different
variations of our protocol, involving changes in the different
percentagesand protocol components..and experienced some
intersting results.

Without trying your patience through relating what did not yield
effective address, I will relate.what did.

The most rapid, and effective alleviation came through a
significant increase in each affected volunteer's quantitative intake of
gluscosamine and chondroitin. e.g. In those cases formerly---but no
longer---satisfactorily responsive, the daily dosage
wasessentiallydoubled (i.e. from 2000 mg GS to 4000mg).

In some cases, to 6000 mg. The response was dramatic and quite
rapid.considering the age of the volunteers and the fact that the
body's utilization of these compounds is measureably less rapid than
those more directly linked to the blood-borne constitutents of the
cardiovascular system. Definitive improvement manifested in a majority
of caseswithin 4 days.or less.

Additionally, from among the affected population about 25%
displayed delayed---or small---response..even to the increased
dosage of GS and Chrondroitin. Significantly, a ten day course of CMO
corrected EVERY ONE of these laggard cases. Although only 4 in number,
I believe it safe to infer a similar number of persons from among the
general population-at-risk, may express the tendency to experience
relapses relative to the activity of the T cells located in the
synovial fluid of the joint capsule. If in fact, this is the case, it
might be wise for older sufferers of arthritis centered in articulating
joints.to seriously consider a prophylactic course of
CMO--annually. The Walmart Corporation now carries CMO under the
Natrol brand name (90 capsules for about 28.00). We utilized it,
together with others, and found it to be just as effective as products
we paid 100.00 for. This is not an endorsement..just our findings.

All of the volunteers involved in the above-mentioned
circumstance are, presently, maintaining the increased levels of GS and
Chrondroitinsome at the 6000 mg of GS level. Only one from a
population of 16 has experienced continuing complications and these are
the result of an additional physical insult and a pronounced condition
of varicosity (which presents a continuous environnment of invasive
fluids into the joint capsule).

He is opting for Radio Frequency Ablation type sclerotherapy..which
we believe will successfully resolve his primary problem.

I apologize for this lengthy post and will try to move any
further commentary to the Alternative Silver list.

Sincerely, Brooks Bradley.

p.s. Interested parties might consider switching to Enzymatically
Hydrolyzed Collagen as a source for a chrondroitin-like fraction..as
it is, essentally, the near equal of C. Sulphate and is MUCH LESS
expensive, being only about $10.00 for a quart container of powder.
Most Walmart stores carry this product in their supplement section. I
am not shilling for Walmart; they just seem to be convenient-and
economical for our tight-fisted buyer.

RE: CSOT: Ants Aspartame

2001-04-12 Thread Heather King (LCA)
Usually, the large black ants we get in temperate North America are
nectar eaters, although the form THAT takes is often considered very
weird. They are known to farm aphids squeeze the aphids' waste
(honeydew/nectar) for food. They keep predators away from the plant/tree
that their aphids inhabit will just go away if the aphids are
eradicated. I did an Integrated Pest Management project/thesis to
qualify for my pesticide applicator's license here in Washington State,
with the integrated part being totally organic. In a known ant
infestation, I checked the (spruce) tree outside the home sure enough,
the entire tree was infested with aphids. I obtained 2 packets of Lady
Beetles (they bred like crazy in the packets, so I subsequently lucked
out had thousands of larvae too, which are known as aphid lions for
VERY good reason. At dusk I soaked the ground at the base of the tree
hosed a few million aphids out of the tree, onto the ground (for Lady
Beetle food, to let them know prey was plentiful). When it was dark, I
spread the packets of beetles larvae at the base of the tree (they fly
upward toward sunlight...I didn't want them to leave before they did the
job)and in less than a week, there no ants to be found. They were not
killed directly by the Lady Beetles, but I'm certain they starved
quickly once the aphid food source was eliminated. I got the beetles at
my local garden supply in mid-spring. The beetles moved on in about 3
weeks, looking for greener pastures.

In the keynote address by the EPA, they announced that there was an
epidemic
of multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus, and they did not understand
what toxin was causing this to be rampant across the United States.

I explained I was there to lecture on exactly that subject.  When the

coverts to formaldehyde and then to  formic acid, which in turn causes

metabolic acidosis. (Formic acid is the poison found  in the sting of

Mother Used Aspartame During Pregnancy
From Betty Martini mission-possible-...@altavista.net
12-6-00

Betty,

I am 31 1/2 years old and changed to Diet Coke from Dr. Pepper a year ago to

lose weight, which I did! However, since that time, I have suffered a severe

clinical depression, worsening of my vision, and muscle/joint pain, and most

alarming of all, memory loss! To make matters worse, during my pregnancy
with
my 9 year old, I consumed sugar free frozen yogurt (I craved it!) and he was

born 4 months early, weighed 1 pound, nine ounces and now suffers from
Cerebral Palsy and mental retardation. Until now, we all assumed that these
were both due solely to premature birth. Now I wonder if he was born
prematurely because I consumed Aspartame and if so, did the Aspartame cause
all of this?

I am outraged! I want to know, are there any class action law suits being
filed at this time? More importantly, if I stop using the Aspartame
products,
can my good health be restored, or am I permanently damaged? Any information

you could give would be very much appreciated!

Regards,
Lisa G. Jenkins

Dear Lisa,

First let me say my heart goes out to you. I feel as much outrage because
you
see the FDA knows aspartame triggers birth defects and don't even have the
decency to put a warning on aspartame for pregnant women. Now they are being

petitioned to even allow it unlabeled and I'll send you that post. The FDA
are very aware of Dr. Diana Dow Edwards studies on birth defects. I asked
them why they didn't accept that study and they even refuse to answer the
question along with 25 others that went along with it. Also, Dr. Louis Elsas

testified before Congress (Pediatric Professor, Emory University, Genetics)
about aspartame being a teratogen and neurotoxin. Read it in its completion
on www.dorway.com

Be sure to read Aspartame Murders Infants by James Bowen, M.D. on
www.dorway.com . It also goes into celebral palsy.

As to depression, the phenylalanine in aspartame lowers the seizure
threshold
and depletes serotonin. Lowered serotonin triggers manic depression, panic
attacks, anxiety, rage, mood swings, suicidal tendencies, etc. As to vision
loss, the wood alcohol in aspartame converts to formaldehyde and then formic

acid, even in the retina of the eye and destroys the optic nerve. Read
What's
Blinding the World on www.dorway.com

Dr. Morgan Raiford who diagnosed many of those who went blind in the 80's
did
say if it was in the wet stage vision can return. As to joint pain,
aspartame hardens the synovial fluids and causes this horrible joint pain.
Now Searle (original manufacturer - Monsanto bought them in l985 and has
since sold) has made Celebrex for this joint pain so they can make more
money
on the agony their product has caused the world. And Celebrex too is a very
dangerous drug, in the first 13 weeks on the market 10 people died and other

had gastrointestinal problems, etc. It also causes hemorrhaging and I've
talked to several people who said their doctor took them off of it because
of
the side effects, mainly the bleeding and cardiac problems. Of course, if
they are still using aspartame the drugs can interact because aspartame is a

drug and not an additive as the FDA would have you believe. By law additives

are suppose to be inert, and aspartame is about as inert or non-reactive as
a
forest fire!

Incidently, aspartame is a very addictive drug and going along with what you

said about craving it, on the last page of the protest of the National Soft
Drink Association on www.dorway.com you will see a note about that. It says
that aspartame actually makes you crave carbohydrates. It's not a diet
product. Most people gain weight on aspartame.

We have two support groups you can click on to from www.dorway.com and a
detoxification page. Newton Labs has made an antidote and there is a 1 800
number. Also, about memory loss, aspartame is legend at causing it. In fact,

note that memory loss is #11 on the FDA list of 92 documented symptoms
triggered by aspartame. H. J. Roberts, M.D., has already declared Aspartame
Disease a world plague

RE: CSfish tanks

2000-10-31 Thread Heather King (LCA)
It was also me. I noted that for my koi pond, the use of CS was wonderful on
the fish themselves in a separate container, but that ammonia levels spike
very quickly, even in the hospital bucket because of the lack of bacteria.
NEVER use CS for algae control if you're trying to achieve a biological
balance in the water of your pond or tank. (It's great for fountains with no
living things). Algae grows because the conditions are right for it: food
(nitrates, ie: fertilizer) and light. The best algae control for a healthy
tank or pond is mechanical. Clean the visible amounts from the glass with a
scrubber allow the filter to remove what it can. Partial water changes
will help to keep the nutrient levels diluted. Get an algae eater or moon
snails. Large fish such as koi will be overcome very quickly by ammonia
poisoning, so I'd imagine that it wouldn't take long at all for the smaller
tank varieties to succumb as well. If you value your fish at all, always
treat them with CS in a separate container monitor your ammonia levels
with test kits to make sure you didn't get too much in the tank with the
fish transfer. Trust me, I found this out the very hard, very expensive way.
Replacing well-grown koi took me over a year cost me $500 to get things
back to the way the way they were.

Obviously he found out the hard way. Maybe this person will come forward

That was me. The things to avoid were from experiences of people here, as
well as
theoretical observations. For instance, I am unaware of any people feeding
CS to
cows and having a problem, but since CS kills bacteria and yeasts, and cows
need
these in their cud to break down the cellulose, there is very likely a
problem. I
DO know that feeding CS to honeybees will kill them, starving them even
though
they are bloated with honey, as I have done that test.

Same with the fish. It is well known that the biological filter is
important to
the health of a fish tank. CS kills bacteria, and if sufficiently strong is
very
likely to do the biological filter in. I am not aware of any who has been
willing
to risk killing their fish to test it though. I believe that there is a
theraputic dose that will not kill the filter, but as far as I know this has
not
been confirmed yet.

RE: CScats with sinus problems

2000-10-02 Thread Heather King (LCA)
All pets (2 dogs, 2 cats) use a waterer at our house. It looks like a
bottled water dispenser holds 3 gallons, so at each filling, I put 1
cup of approximately 15 ppm CS in with the full 3 gallons. Seems to keep
the usual slime away, too. For the deeper abcesses, I use a plastic
'small bird feeding syringe' to inject CS directly into the wound. Cats
have very loose skin, so it's easy to get the syringe tip underneath the
edges. My cats are very still when I do this, but I'd suggest toweling
cats when you do this as I've heard it can burn a little. It definitely
gets the BEST results, though. My female cat had a wound that went
slightly gangrenous (she wouldn't clean it either, I found out: too
disgusting for her) before it was finally found had opened up to 1/2
inch hole in the skin. After a thorough cleaning with peroxide, we did
the CS underskin-injection method, gave 3 T by mouth let her go with
the wound uncovered. She immediately started cleaning it we repeated
the procedure the next day. The third day we just gave her 3 T by mouth
she took care of the wound from there. It healed in less than a week.
CS that you make yourself with distilled water pure silver is just
fine for the eyes. I make my own CS using a Silvergen generator to be
sure it's as good as I can get it. If you mix 1/2 1/2 CS with saline
(pure contact lens saline is fine), the eyes take it a little better, no
stinging.

2000-09-29 Thread Heather King (LCA)
I have found that my cats have been the BEST test subjects for CS...they are
indoor/outdoor have a tendency to abcesses (infected fighting wounds) on a
fairly frequent basis. They used to have to go to the vet for ABX, fluids
overnight stay. Now when I see them looking grumpy hiding to sleep, I dose
them with CS look for the wound. After cleaning with peroxide (shows where
the baddies are) I soak the wound with CS for a couple of days, twice/day.
Haven't had a single vet bill for abcesses in over a year, but had about 9
cases. Love it! :o) It's also in their water all the time.

You may find that what you are feeding your cats will contribute greatly to

up in the food processor. They never get sick as a result. Get Weston

bottle. I had another bottle which I had been using to spray on my son's
body at the first hint of poison ivy. It helped tremendously after going
through several bouts of poison ivy all over his body early summer. Anyway,

I was cleaning my pantry the other day and when I got to my spray bottle of
silver, the stuff was dark charcoal colored! At the time I made it, it was
nicely golden. Is this natural?? Kinda scared me to think this murky
colored stuff might be lurking in my body!?

Thanks to anyone who might have an answer.

Hi Marshall and everyone,

I just recently ran across a paper saying that tea plants have the highest
concentration of fluorides of any plant; especially green tea.
That figures; green tea is said to be good for preventing decay. The
belief must have originated from the erroneous belief that fluorides
enhance dental health. The figures indicate that the concentration in
regular and green tea is many times higher than the MCL set by the FDA, and
is thousands of times higher that the allowed concentration of F in
drinking water allowed in most European countries.

I have assiduously avoided drinking tap water for several years, to escape
the fluorides. I also drink about 4 cups of Earl Grey a day, or did until
I read the article.

Have you heard anything about oral chelation for fluoride?

Thanks in advance.

hepa filters do an excellent job but will not remove viruses and mould
spores. The installation if replacement filter elements has to be done
carefully else they can be torn. They are expensive.

What kind of toxins? If it is solvents then activated carbon filters may
be OK.
If its infectious contamination then ozone is good but make sure it is
neutralised to a safe concentration for the occupants after it has .
Ultraviolet is also good if the dust has been removed.

Put in negative ion generators anyway to polish the air in the room.

You could get advice from a reputable air conditioning consultant.

RE: CSUses

2000-07-24 Thread Heather King (LCA)
Pets: Seeing as how we live in a near zoo at my house, CS comes in very
handy for the occasional ickies sickies:

I have experienced great results with CS in cats. This has been a bad year
for fights therefore, abcesses on our 2 cats I have found that injecting
CS directly into the already-open wound with a plastic-tipped syringe takes
care of the problem in two days or less, depending on the size of the wound.
I also give CS by mouth for 4 days and I'm amazed every time how complete
quick the healing is. I used to pay $90 per visit to the vet for antibiotics
an overnight stay, lancing drainage and I haven't had to for the last 2
years. Cats heal differently than humans dogs. If there is any infection
under the skin at a wound site, it will take way too long to heal with
conventional meds must be treated at the wound site as well as internally.
CS is perfect for this. CS also cured a chronic ear fungus in my dog. I have
used CS successfully as a dip for my comet goldfish have seen Ich
disappear in less than 2 days on a fish that was covered with the speckles.
Also took care of one case of dropsy (pinecone syndrome) a stress/fungal
condition on a large koi. (I ALWAYS treat my fish OUT of the water in a dip
bucket; never in the pond.)

As for us humans in the house, I credit CS with keeping us flu-free for the
last 2 years, as well as enabling a longer refrigerator shelf-life on foods
that we would have thrown out because of questionable age. We're saving
money AND staying well. Also, a friend of mine used CS to cool a bad cooking
oil burn found to her joy amazement that the large burn mark was nearly
invisible the next day gone on the second with no scarring, blistering or
tenderness.

Sorry for the book...CS has done wonders for all the little insidious,
irritating ills of life at our house since we started making it regularly 2
years ago. We'll keep making it using it and completely benefiting from
it.

RE: CSUses..heather?

2000-07-24 Thread Heather King (LCA)
Actually, I don't know for certain...perhaps Trem can give you a better
idea, as I am using the Silvergen CS generator. I recently came across some
good distilled water that takes a little over an hour for the light on the
generator to come on (indicating conductivity) and I get crystal clear, VERY
pale gold CS with what I consider a medium T.E. My best estimate is
somewhere between 10 15 ppm after 5 hours of generating. Since I follow
Trem's instructions as close as possible, I'm assuming it's a good, average
brew. Trem, would you be so kind as to comment??

Heather
