Message-ID: 1387477679.43400.yahoomail...@web184906.mail.gq1.yahoo.com Does anyone know how to discern a yam from a sweet potato? Thanks The tubers you see in the grocery store are not medicinal. The medicinal yams are Dioscorea villosa, native to Eastern US and not that hard to grow, it has heart-shaped leaves. It's probably easier to buy some tubers from a reputable source than to try to find it wild. There is also a Chinese one, Dioscorea batatas, which is tastier as an edible tuber but not as medicinal. They both make tiny tubers in leaf axils during the growing season which can be planted to make new plants. Nancy

Thanks, Nancy. I have read that all yams are more nutritious than sweet potatoes and if I have a choice would like to know how to discern. I came across something today that might interest you about licorice root. If you use it you should use the deglycerized variety. I found some pretty affordable stuff at Swansonvitamins.com . You could find it other places too. Licorice root has been enjoyed over the centuries as a candy, but it is also an herb with medicinal properties. Licorice root increases the half-life of cortisol—the adrenal stress hormone—inhibiting the breakdown of adrenal hormones by the liver. As a result, licorice is useful in reversing low cortisol conditions and helping the adrenal glands rest and restore function. But the bulk of the research with licorice lies in its digestive benefits. When talking specifically about deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL), has been shown to cleanse the colon, ease constipation, and treat GI disorders such as colitis and diverticulosis. DGL has even been found to help speed ulcer healing, ease abdominal spasms and pain, and reduce intestinal irritation. Aim for 300-600 mg of licorice root daily, with meals DGL Licorice Root Extract Item: SWH154 Swanson *$6.89* Size: 385 mg 180 Chwbls (should be good for 2 months supply according to the above) On Mon, Dec 16, 2013 at 9:22 PM, Lena Guyot drumr...@stny.rr.com wrote: Hi Folks, For several years, I have used Bezwecken's IsoCort to support my adrenals that had been pretty much fried by decades of Lyme. If anyone knows what's going on; if this situation temporary, or, if not, what works like Isocort, I'd really appreciate whatever info you have. Darn! One gets a system that works and then someone 'fixes' it! Hardly seems fair. Thanks for any help you can offer. Be well, Léna
Re: CSOT: Help! need IsoCort!
Thanks RaVen, This sounds like a good lead! Thanks! In the past, the reversals of fortune usually have proved to be new, more positive pathways, so I'm encouraged by a couple options opening up, that my energy will continue to grow with careful application ad observation. I'm so glad to hear of your progress! I have a friend with CFIDS and she might like to hear about this, too. My chiropractor has given me Apex Energetic medicine (supplement) called AC-Glutathione (5-Acetyl L-Glutathione) K-88 60 capsules - look up Dr Rammel Geronimo and it'll lead to his website - you can buy directly online. Just mention my name (RaVen Sequoia) that I referred you to him if you decide to use it. He helped me to overcome debilitating chronic fatigue and I was able to go back to work part time. I still have to take it easy and so I cut work from 4 weeks to 3 weeks per month to recover. Best wishes, RaVen -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver. Thanks David! I'm so encouraged by group's response. There's an answer out there, and we'll find it! As my favorite mompop hardware store used to say, 'Together we can do it yourself!' IsoCort has supported my adrenals and in doing that, things pointing to thyroid issues have eased. I've been very happy with this product. Hair-on-fire HELP! It's now not available! Everyone's out of stock! Rumors of recall. Dunno what's going on. I have one bottle left, but it won't last forever and I'm wondering what else works in a similar fashion for some of you out there who may be supporting your poor adrenals. Re: CSOT: Help! need IsoCort!
I have always used hydrocortisone (generic equivalents of the U.S. brand Cortef). Never tried Isocort as the other ingredients were problematic for me. With such a small dose as you were using, you might do well with topical hydrocortisone cream. I've recently read that absorption of topicals is approx, 20 % of a stated dosage, so you'd have to play with dosing it. I use HC as either topical cream or as tablets. sol Lena Guyot wrote: Hi Folks, For several years, I have used Bezwecken's IsoCort to support my adrenals that had been pretty much fried by decades of Lyme.
