I was struggling with some streaming issues for the last hour, I changed it back to 9000:9000 tcp and no more issues. Whew. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Error scanning file or folder: /music: Permission denied - Synology NAS
Ah, resolved the permissions issue from a tip from a user on the Synology NAS forum. The resolution for me was to find the PUID/PGID values for the NAS user to enter in the environment tab. Also changed the ports per the following though I don't think the ports were any issue: I had to check online for how to find the PUID/PGID (this article helped - https://mariushosting.com/synology-how-to-find-uid-userid-and-gid-groupid/) - I found those via SSH and noted them down. In Synology > Docker > Container I stopped the lmscommunity/logitechmediaserver container and clicked Edit, then changed the port settings in the port settings tab to 9902:9000 for TCP. I also clicked on the environment tab and entered the uid and gid into the PUID and PGID fields. Once I saved those and ticked the container to start again it now sees my music folders. All set now! :) spacetaxi33's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=72358 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115540 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

When you mention making a user only for LMS, where are you meaning to do that? Also for the folder setup in your screenshot I am seeing folders after the /mnt/ path - on my basic settings tab there are no folders there, I can't seem to find the ability to create folders in mnt. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Default Skin / pcP - how to show only artist, not album artist?
Hi. for tracks with album artists artist the *client's current playlist* (right pane) in the LMS *default* skin *only shows the album artist for these tracks*. So for compilation tracks I *only *get Various Artists but not the artist's name. And may be related: on pCP I get "Various Artists, artist_name". So where's the option/setting/pref I've failed to located to switch this back to the way this used to be (artist name only)? I've checked the interface setting but nothing springs to mind. Yes, I've set compilation tracks to be listed under individual artists but I've always handled it like this. No change there. Weird I haven't noticed this before but now that I have I'd like to change it, preferably without messing around with server code. Thanks for your help. I am using a 1:1 copy of my Music (before it was iTunes) library for LMS. I am using this because my Mac Pro has not to stay on and I also have another backup of the library. This drive is mounted read only to my LMS Pi (with piCorePlayer). So there should be no problem to use your iTunes library directly from you Mac. I think you can simply mount the start of your iTunes library (.../Media/Music) to your Pi and use that as the start for LMS. You don't have to use the Library XML path. But if you change something in your library you have to do a rescan with LMS. Depending what you changed (like changing tags of the music files) you have to do a full rescan. If you just added an album, you can scan for new files. pi4 4gb picoreplayer with lms and squeezelite for usb inside an argon one case pi3b+ (7\" display, hifiberry dac+ pro) picoreplayer with squeezlite/jivelite for hifiberry and bluetooth headphone inside a smartipi touch case two airport express ikea symfonisk carsten_h's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69113 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113282 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Logitech Media Server 8.0.0 released!
Just switched my 4GB raspberry Pi4 from some other software to PiCorePlayer 8.1.0 this week - and it looks like LMS is at ver 3.2! Got it all set up even with the HyperPixel4 on top, and Material skin when I browse to it in Safari on my 2009 MacPro (Mojave), or with my iPhone or iPad. Got it working fine with Qobuz and some web radio services. Kudos for coding a really awesome player! My question is about connecting to a 2TB library of iTunes music that I have on the MacPro. I'd like to access that via LMS without copying everything to a USB stick, and the hassles of reloading and rescanning that on a regular basis. I've tried a couple of paths to the Library XML file and to the music directory but am not sure how to format the path to that server/drives and make music library access work. thewebgal's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36239 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113282 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Modern iTunes is reported as no longer producing the XML file automatically. In any case - take a look inside it with a text editor and you will see the way that the path to the files is written. LMS needs to be able to read the files. The iTunes XML is simply a listing showing where to find them. So you will need to share out the file system where the files are stored so that the system where LMS is can mount it. That is the first step that you will need to do whether or not you use the iTunes XML. No extra power source needed. All works well. Well, the issue with that is if I update iTunes with a new CD every week or so, I have to copy the updated files each time - where if I could just point to itunes and the XML directory file, it would just "see" the updates with a rescan, and not need redundant copies of the same files. There is to be an iTunes plugin - just not sure how to point it to another server on the network. thewebgal's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36239 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115531 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] IHeart Media plugin
I have since noticed last entry in WBZ NewsRadio 1030 - which I found out to be Boston. Again 4 URLs are provided 2 ordinary and 2 HLS and they play OK for me. To select non HLS stream (and so no need for HLS plugin) - on WebUI - instead of playing straight from list of matching station - drill down into station and list of 4 URLs will be presented - play/save a non HLS stream Delete your current Favorites/Presets as I think they are HLS. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115552 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
