Yes, and its not a bug. 9002 is the lms default in DSM.
As said, the ports on synology for packages are defined (hard coded) in
the config of the package. There no way to change that and make it
persist after a reboot, other than changing the config file in the
package, before install.

The port is indeed part of the config that comes with the package! When
installing a package, Synology checks if this port is free to use. If
already in use, the install will fail.
Port 9000 was once used by Surveillance Station but is free to use now.
Surveillance Station moved to 9900 and 9901.
So, it will only persist after a reboot when I change the ports
accordingly.

Did you enter some repo manually? Don't delete the additional repo for
spotty. You don't need it.
Spotty is out of the box available in the third party tab of the plugins
page.

on your DS213j.
After installing LMS 8.0.0 it should be available from the third-party
plugins by default. No need to add an extra repo (not sure, but it might
even be available in 7.9.1).

case.

FLAC should be no problem on most devices. Binaries are also available
in the armada38x package for the DS216j. You might want to check the
file types in Server Settings -> Advanced -> File Types.

where also your music files are located. Probably in the folder music?!

Depending on how you downloaded the albums, sometimes the permissions
may be different. So, check permissions in Filemanager of the top folder
and apply to all subfolders and files.
Do a rescan in LMS afterwards.

If something is 'fighting' with the default port (9002, on Synology
nas), as Apesbrain suggests, you could change the port to 9000.Just go
to Settings --> Advanced --> Network and change the Web Server Port

port value reverts to the default setting again!

but this is probably not what you are looking for and only used for
streaming. An other option which could be of interest is that, there is
a FFmpeg package available for your NAS. I used it once to convert FLAC
to mp3 server side without a problem .
The FFmpeg package is available in the synocommunity repo.

If you need a NAS anyway, why not install LMS on if a software package
is available. Synology might be worth looking at. NAS these days are

There are several things you could do, one of them is the cronjob thing.
But normally LMS should be fine without the start/stop action.
The task scheduler is pretty straight forward. You have to create 2
tasks: one for the stop action, and one for the start action: goto the
control panel -> Task Scheduler-> Create-> Scheduled Task-> configure
the task settings in 'General', 'Schedule' and Task Settings. In Task
Settings pick 'stop' or 'start' and select ' Logitech Media Server.
Press OK.
Follow this procedure for both the start service and the stop service.
The task overview should look something like this:25237
Second: if you run DSM6, please update to a newer version of LMS (the
7.7.6 Synology version is realy old!)! Just activate the beta channel in
Package Center: goto settings-> Beta-> Yes, I want to see Beta versions.
The 7.9.1 beta version of Synology's LMS will be visible in the Package
Center.

activate the beta channel in Package Center and install the official

ths could be caused by one of the latest github commits. But I'm not
sure. To find out if this is the case, install the 0012 build in which I
reverted that commit:

Bought a new (slightly bigger) house and looking for some new ways to
fit in some raspberry's here and there. The new 3B+ is certainly on the
list but never tried Berryboot. Looks like a nice tool to play with.

This probably won't bring back all your songs but might increase
scanning speed. My guess is, as Michael already pointed out, this looks
like a permission issue. Was this a back-up from the same location, or a

Deleting Cache.db did the trick for me. Stopped LMS, deleted cache,
rebooted my nas, started LMS again --> Tidal-->
Genres-->Indie-->Albums--> muisc! :)

Some at the Synology thread said that Tidal wasn't working anymore after
updating to 7.9.2. The previous 7.9.1 build I made was from before April
11th.
So, I revert 'this'

commit in the 7.9.2 build, thinking that was causing the issue and stop
Tidal from working. After reverting the commit Tidal was working again.

We have seen the same issues with the Synology packages. Reverting one
of the latest commits did the trick.

So, disable all plug-ins which might import new artwork, like Music and
Artist Information, and restart LMS. See if this solves the issue. If

take a look at these settings (and the rest of the settings of this

I've tested the Armada375 version on my own server. The x86_64 version
is not tested, but downloaded over 50 times. I've not read any comments

Hi Gerhard,
If you want to update a the 166 spk, make sure to create a new 'base'.
As already said, the the 166 spk is *not* in line with commit ID a519d5!
You have to get this in line first before moving on.
Second: don' t just copy files or directories, some files/code contain
Synology specific patches.
Third: there are some differences between architectures. I would advice
to create a new 'base' package for all architectures you want to
maintain/create.

Yes it is. The current blacklist is an old one. If you want to exclude
the all folders , except the shares, there are several folders to add.
It might even be that , all folders starting with '@' can be excluded. i
will check that.

AFAIK Synology only adds a #recycle folder in the root of the share (e.g
/music/#recycle). Moving your music to a subfolder in the share might
help ( e.g /music/subfolder).
After that, change the music location in LMS acordingly (e.g
/volume1/music/subfolder)

Dstm is not in the beta package of synology. The status of the package
is almost 2 years old.

The cache folder is defined as a subdirectory of the install directory
of the package. This means if you want to change the cache folder
location to a different share, you would have hard code the path to the
cache folder in several files. I don't see why this would be beneficial
for you. And, you would have to do this with every update.

Have you checked the storage manager in DSM? Is the information of the
first disk OK? Install Storage Analyser - not the same as the Storage
manager(!) - and run a report. See if that gives you some more
information about this issue.

beta channel won't show another version.
- Yes, you can. I build packages for DSM4 5 and 6 to keep LMS up to
date on our Synology. There is a package available for your DS209.
Some plug-ins are deprecated (this is probably what you see in the
logs) and will be removed or replaced by others. Still active plug-ins
will be updated.
- If you don't have tweaked your LMS or have a very large library, it
might be a good Idea to start from scratch, but you also can install
the new version over the 7.7.3 version.

I would suggest to keep information about the issue to the webui. Leave
the apps for the moment. First see f the webui is responsive and
functional.
If you have Photo Station, make sure it is not indexing and creating
thumbnails! If this is a new Nas it probably is, and depending on the
amount of photo's will be busy for days. This will cost you a lot of CPU
and will affect overall performance, including LMS.
How large is you music library? I can give you an estimation of who long
the scanning process normally would be.

That a normal cpu load during scanning, most of it would be Perl
process. Slimserver is normally a few %.
What other processes are running. Do you have photo station installed?
Are photo's scanned?

This server ( I think you mean the DS216se) is not that powerfull and
could cause some problems when running multiple tasks. Check the server
cpu load first. If the server is high on cpu that might be the problem.
See which service is causing the high cpu load.
There is a newer version of LMS available in the Package Center, but its
in the beta channel. I would recommend to install this 7.9 version. It
might not solve your problem but it is faster than the 'old' 7.7.6
version.

empty for singles? My interpretation of the Album tag is the name under
which the single/album is released. In case of a single, Album title and

That's the version Synology is using for their unofficial Beta package
of LMS. They recently updated the package for DSM6 (which is released
today) to a nightly which was build in February this year. But the older
DSM versions, like DSM 4 and 5, are still using this one.

You could use the LmsUpdate package to see if it will fix the problem,
or update to DSM6 if possible.
