trash is on your own computer. Its either in the trash can for
your account, or it could be in the trash under Local Folders.

If you're using imap, then the trash is on the email server.

Firstly, many ISP's offer both POP and IMAP access.  With dialup, 
perhaps you would be better served with POP access, which downloads 
everything to your computer.


Still, with IMAP:

Edit>>Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings>>(account in question)>>Offline 
and Disk Space


Check the boxes for Offline use. Click the button for Select Folders.

Make sure Trash is selected.

Take SM offline, and those message should appear in your trash folder.

OK..here's the thing...I had seen what you describe about the off line 
settings, but "Local Folders" doesn't show up there - Just my ISP's 
folders and this News Group.


The Folders under my ISP are on the ISP's disks.

If I send something out, it goes in my "Local Folders" SENT Folder.
If I want to save a message - it goes in my "Local Folders" .. 
Folder (I have many set up).


"Local Folders" shows up everywhere but the place you describe...?

your "Sent" folder, under your Local Folders, create several 
sub-folders, 2006-Sent, 2007-Sent, etc, and move the messages from the

Do likewise for your "Inbox" so that your active mail profile is as trim 
as possible.

If its POP, something is wrong indeed.  If its IMAP, that's probably the 
intended behavior.

It will have no effect of SeaMonkey.just that every time you try 
to send an email, you will be using Outlook (with all its virus, 
worm, trogan permitting problems!!), unless you specifically select SM.

sending/replying/forwarding e-mail from within it, that any other 
time I click on an e-mail address link, it will start outlook?


If you are using SeaMonkey and want to send an e-mail, SeaMonkey has 
the facility to send an e-mail, i.e. it's the one program, so there is 
no need for Windows to start the default program.


At any other time, when you click on an e-mail address, the system 
WILL start the default e-mail program. If Outlook is the default, 
that's what gets started.

thats sort of correct.  Because SM is an all in one package, if you 
click on an email link in the browser, then it will start the SM mail 
editor.  Even if you have another email program set as the default.

What causes duplicated messages?

One thing that I've found that RELIABLY duplicates messages is to have
your address on at least two of the To:, Cc, and/or Bcc: lines AND the
mail is processed via some flavor of MS mail handler.  MS seems to
process each of these lines separately and keeps addees on each line
separate.  MS doesn't seem to recognize that the To:, Cc: and Bcc:
lines are just for HUMAN convenence and has nothing to do with mail
handling.

What MS should do is to consolidate all three lines into one (w/o
changing the message itself), sorting the addresses uniquely, and then
initiating connections.  At a minimum, the MS product will make one
connection for each of the To:, Cc: and Bcc: headers.

Your address needs to be on a least TWO of the headers to get the
message duplicated.  If it is on all three of the headers, then you get
a message in triplicate.

You have to go into settings and deselect that the message not be
deleted after you are through reading it. If you do not do that it
makes them unread messages all over again.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that changed in v11, with Windows AB being the 
default.  The WP AB isn't reliable, as Ive had it fail often enough that 
if I add anything to it, I immediately export it, same as I do with the 
TB AB.  That's probably why Corel started defaulting to the WAB.


The WP groups are full of "what happened to my address book" type stuff, 
and no one even replies anymore.  As long as I back it up after 
modifying it, it doesn't bother me if/when it fails.

I subscribe to those groups, and you're right, there isn't a lot of 
activity.  That's because WP users don't have any problems! ;-)

oh, I get you now.  I don't do it that way.  After I've 
created my message, I click on File, Send and it opens 
an SM Editor window with the message as an attachment.


I just had a look at the WP Address book, and well, 
lets just say: No thank you! I'll stick with SM. If I'm 
sending out an important message, then I usually 
compose my message in WP, then copy and paste it into 
SM and go from there.

My Old Sent Messages

I have kept about 400 of my "Sent" messages, some dating back a couple 
of years. I agree that is too many and I'll cull them as soon as my 
recent problem is corrected. Yesterday, something happened and no longer 
can I read the body of the messages that I have sent. The subject, 
recipient and date still appear in the upper half of the window but the 
bottom half  is blank. Messages that I sent today are OK.

This problem applies only to "Sent" messages; My Local folders are OK.
I must have done something  accidentally but don't know what and I don't 
know how to correct it.

Using SeaMonkey 1.1.15.

It will have no effect of SeaMonkey.just that every time you try 
to send an email, you will be using Outlook (with all its virus, 
worm, trogan permitting problems!!), unless you specifically select SM.

sending/replying/forwarding e-mail from within it, that any other 
time I click on an e-mail address link, it will start outlook?


If you are using SeaMonkey and want to send an e-mail, SeaMonkey has 
the facility to send an e-mail, i.e. it's the one program, so there is 
no need for Windows to start the default program.


At any other time, when you click on an e-mail address, the system 
WILL start the default e-mail program. If Outlook is the default, 
that's what gets started.

thats sort of correct.  Because SM is an all in one package, if you 
click on an email link in the browser, then it will start the SM mail 
editor.  Even if you have another email program set as the default.


Well, that gives me some "comfort" to create a MSO Outlook 
default work-a-round.

CACert has not gone through an audit or review within the criteria given
in Sections 7-10 of
.  Thus, no one
knows if it can be trusted.  I believe they are now in the process of
going through that review.

I did a preliminary review of CACert's documentation a few years ago
when they first requested inclusion in the NSS database of CA roots.  I
found some problems that were not major but did indeed require
correction.  That review never reached the point of looking at CACert's
practices.  (A review or audit should parallel the ISO 9001 mantra:  Say
what you do; do what you say; and be prepared to prove it.  Beyond ISO
9001, what you say and do must also meet certain standards.)

Note that only a certificate authority (CA) itself can request
inclusion.  Users cannot make this request.  CACert made such a request
in 2003; see .
However, when it became obvious that they needed to do some work to
comply with the Mozilla policy, they agreed in 2007 to withdraw the
request.  They will submit a new request (a new bug report) when they
are ready to undergo Mozilla's scrutiny.

It is not a trusted CA by default which doesn't mean it is 
fraudulent.  If you trust it you could add its certificate to your 
trusted CA store.  Keep in mind you should trust everyone this CA 
issues certificates to as once adding it you won't get any warning 
connecting to such sites.

I think the reason is, there is only one profile, so no need to do a 
profile selection.




no, if you don't have SeaMonkey running, including 
shutting down the QuickLaunch option, then you can 
start the profile manager at any time, even if there is 
only one profile.

If you are using SeaMonkey and want to send an e-mail, SeaMonkey has the 
facility to send an e-mail, i.e. it's the one program, so there is no 
need for Windows to start the default program.


At any other time, when you click on an e-mail address, the system WILL 
start the default e-mail program. If Outlook is the default, that's what 
gets started.

thats sort of correct.  Because SM is an all in one 
package, if you click on an email link in the browser, 
then it will start the SM mail editor.  Even if you 
have another email program set as the default.
