I have the same problem -- nothing works.

Ah, one of the reasons I always stay one or two version back, and
check around, at issues for newer versions.
And wouldn't it be great to have all preference settings on one long
page so you could check easily, if a tick was clicked on or off.
And you wouldn't have to search around to find the check box, there it
would be as you scroll down the all inclusive preference page.
(okay, now I get off my soapbox)
Right click context menu works in version: 2.14.1, (but then you knew that).

I understand AM-Deadlink does not support directly the Places database.
It might be possible to use it with an exported bookmarks.html.
However,
changes to bookmarks.html won't be imported back automatically into
Places.

McBastos, I, too, used to think that AM-Deadlink did not work with the
places-sqlite file (the updated bookmarks plus file), but I updated
(some time ago) and found that the later versions of AM-Deadlink *do*
work!!

Yes, the SQL files are supported, otherwise I would not have suggested
it.

But you can not edit the results-right?

Correct. From the AMD Help file:

AM-DeadLink can only read and check Firefox bookmarks, it's not possible
to delete bookmarks directly from the Firefox database. To delete dead
bookmarks from Firefox, you have to do this directly within Firefox.
This restriction is required to avoid possible conflicts with the
Firefox bookmark database (or also future changes to the Firefox
bookmark database).

Possible work around:

AM-DeadLink also supports the old Firefox 2.x bookmark file format. You
can export your Firefox bookmarks to a bookmarks.html file, open and
change it in AM-DeadLink and re-import the bookmarks into Firefox.

If 2.13.2 simply runs, that means you're on an Intel Mac, not a PPC, so
you don't need the PPC version anyway.
The reason why the PPC version is slow is because Intel Macs require the
use of Rosetta software that allows PPC applications to run on Intel Macs.

In other words, you're supposed to be using the Intel version anyway. :)

No, it is not just as effective. Some parts of the profile information
will certainly be lost in a direct upgrade. Due to various technical
reasons, some features of the import profile wizard dealing with
old-style profiles were removed over the years.

Will the remaining information be enough for you? I don't know; I
haven't ever attempted to do it that way. You may have a workable system
missing some stuff you don't deem really important, or you may end up
with a broken profile.

The *safer* route is to do a step-by-step upgrade as indicated by

A tutorial on how message headers must be constructed is beyond both the
scope of this newsgroup and the scope of what I'm willing to type. It's
all specified in very detailed RFCs which are easy to find. The
specific bit you have become curious about is known as header folding,
but unless you understand header construction in general, it won't make
much sense. You can find correctly used CRLFs immediately after the
word SeaMonkey's in the Subject headers of your own posts in this
thread, in case it helps you to start with an example.
