Annie, I am having the very same problems and using the same settings which
I got on the Yahoo website. As a work around, I go directly to Yahoo to
read and send my email.

Recently my computer service went off.  Exfinity installed a new box and
I was back online but some changes happened.  One was that I cannot make
my screen smaller which I like better than it going corner to corner on

I want to thank Paul in Houston so much for putting his settings in a
post to the Seamonkey mailing list a couple of days ago.  They helped me
so much.  Immediately using your settings, I was able to receive email

some reason I didn't set up the settings properly till today.

Again, thanks so much,

ATT email

2019-12-13 Thread Pat Connors
I know a few of us who get their email through ATT, are having problems
getting their emails. I was also but figured out how to receive the email,
however, the day before yesterday, I could no longer send. Still having
problems. I guess Yahoo/ATT changed their server name. I was sending to:
smtp.att.yahoo.com

It no longer works. Are there any ATT users here that have a better server
address that works?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Note, I am using my gmail account to send this and this. I can receive but
not send email on my pacbell account.

Re: New AT Settings

2019-12-07 Thread Pat Connors
I, too, use AT email and also had problems getting my mail when they
changed their program.  It would not recognize my email password.

BTW, each morning, I open up my email on the Yahoo site:
https://currently.att.yahoo.com/
First, my old password was not recognized when the Yahoo/ATT website was
updated but I could still download my email.  After a couple of days, I
got back onto the Yahoo/Att website and followed instructions on how to
change my password.

After that I found that while I could read my email on the Yahoo site
and delete all the junk email, I found I could not down down load the
emails so had to go into the Seamonkey email settings and change my
password there also to match the one on the Yahoo site.

After that, all is normal and I am back to getting my email without any
problems.

Leaky as in memory leakage. 2.48 and 2.49 were leaky for me. During
the course of the day memory usage would just go up and up and never
be freed up until I was consuming 1-2GB RAM. 2.50beta was fine the
2.50 release brought back the leakiness. I just switched to the 2.51
beta this morning and I'm only using a little over 600MB with two
windows open.

Thanks for getting back to me. I work with usually 3 windows open,
sometimes 4 and have had no problems. However, I do not know how to
check 'memory usage'. So if it is leaky, I do not know. I just know
that 2.48, 2.49 and now 2.50 are running fine for me.

I have found this final version of Adrian's 2.50 leaky as the previous
versions were. The 2.50 beta from March seemed better. I was able to
crash 2.50 after it had consumed 1+GB of RAM and then measuring memory
but even with 2.50 beta, I was always stable.

What does 'leaky' mean?
I have been using Adrian's versions, and have had no problems. Maybe I
have problems that I am not aware of??

I have been using 2.47 without any problems, and I see this (2.48) is

I am using? Is there a good reason why I should switch when I have no

I think you should be certain where your browser came from. Saying it
is probably Adrians isn't really enough. Have you forgotten where you
downloaded it from? Where are you seeing this 2.48?

I do not see where I wrote 'it is probably Adrians', I know it is
Adrians but since I find it impossible to remember every website I visit
and I didn't note the one where I downloaded Adrian's 2.47 because I
thought it was just a temporary thing and now since 2.48 is not on the

Sea Monkey browser

dislike a statement someone made. I could not do so nor could I comment.

I then went over on the Microsoft E browser and brought up the same page

Any suggestions on how I can get SeaMonkey to do the same, on the old

Yes, I see that the message all looks like the
same font size. Interesting, guess it just
happens with my copy.

Printing wise, I haven't tried to print an e-mail,
just web pages.

email replies' font size

2012-05-01 Thread Pat Connors
I have been having a problem with replying to
emails, in regard to font size, since 2.7. When
replying, the first paragraph is the font I like.
However, if I go to another paragraph, the font
gets smaller. This doesn't happen every time, but
enough times for it to become annoying.

Any fixes I can make or is it just the program?

stopping automatic updates

2012-03-17 Thread Pat Connors
How do I stop automatic updates? When 2.8 was
updated, I couldn't get it to work so deleted it
and downloaded 2.7.2 and got it to work without
any problems. Wasted almost a whole day playing
around. This morning I got up and turned on the
computer and again, the 2.8 update was there.
Luckily I knew what to do, not try to get 2.8 to
work but delete it and get on IE and download
2.7.2 again. I don't want to go through this
every morning...so need to stop the automatic updates.

Is there anyone else, beside me who can't get 2.8
to open?

Re: support-seamonkey Digest, Vol 74, Issue 71

2012-02-21 Thread Pat Connors

I have the above, and I do not have this problem. I can tell you also
have SeaMonkey 2.7.2. What version of Flash was installed? You can
check best by going to [Help About Plugins] on the SeaMonkey menu bar.

I have:
Shockwave Flash

File: NPSWF32.dll
Version: 11.1.102.62
Shockwave Flash 11.1 r102

Looks like the same as yours. I am currently
using my mail and two websites with mostly words
and no graphics on SM. Even my gmail locks up.
So using IE for most other sites.

Since the last update, 2.7.2, many sites, like my
bank and FamilySearch.org don't line up well,
especially if they have forms so need to use IE
for them. I am using Win 7, 64 bit.

Re: Google button on address lineRe: Google button on address line

2012-02-06 Thread Pat Connors

Two SeaMonkeys back (a 2.6..), I had a Google search button on the line
between the http address and print. Is there a way to get it back or is
  it now gone?

Did you try right clicking on a blank space in that area and choosing
Customize and then drag the search bar back to where you had it before? It
sounds like your SM theme maybe doesn't work exactly right with the latest
version of SM if the search bar was there in earlier versions but now is
not. Maybe we are talking about different things though as the Search bar is
not a button but a bar that can be adjusted in length.

Thanks much, Desiree, I was able to get a search
box for Google with your instructions.

Re: another 2.7 disaster

2012-02-02 Thread Pat Connors

It sounds like the only issue is that a Seamonkey process didn't
terminate properly. This has been a frequent issue with SM for a few
revisions now.

Assuming your on some flavor of Windoz - right mouse button on the task
bar, open the task manager. Select the processes tab, sort by Image
name. Find and select the Seamonkey process and click end process.
Then start install again.

Thanks, Hawker, you solved my problem. Seems like
I lost almost a half day trying to figure out what
happened. You solved it in a couple of minutes.
Can't thank you enough.

Either start your SM with the parameter -safe-mode or go to Help and
|chose 'Restart with Add-ons Disabled' there. Dont check any of the
|checkboxes when trying.

Re: Re: print puts SM 2.6.1 in freeze!

2012-01-02 Thread Pat Connors

It's a troubleshooting tool. If you're having a problem with SeaMonkey
and are at a loss about the cause, running SeaMonkey with add-ons
disabled will help determine if the cause of the problem is an add-on.

Thanks Chris for the polite answer about my
problem and about 'top posting'. I happen to like
top posting (now that I know what it is called)
because you see the subject of the reply before
the reply...

I was able to print after I did the 'restart with
Add-ons disabled'. I guess now I just have to
figure out which one, by deleting them one by one
and testing the print. When I have the time, I'll
try it.

Thanks again for your help.

Re: fonts in 2.6.1

2012-01-01 Thread Pat Connors
Thanks for taking the time to answer me. Well, it
may do so in your computer but not in mine which
is why I hold off to upgrade. The print on the
browser is tiny and worse in the mail program.

In Edit ? Preferences ? Appearance ? Fonts you can set a minimum font
size for each language. Also, these preferences ought to persist from
one version to the next (they are in your profile, reinstalling the
application shouldn't change that) so I don't understand your as usual.

Someone else has the same experience I do... I
will try Veranda, which I have. Thanks.

But doing so all affects the Font size used on websites as well.
Change the last font in the list to Veranda (if you have it). It may not
improve the size but you sure can read it better.

PS I am disappointed I this version doesn't have
the 'search' button on the browser which I had set
to Goggle.

Anyone experiencing the same problem. I am using

So click in an empty spot in the menu bar, select Customize..., and add it.

So how does one start SM in safe mode?

Now I know why I hadn't upgraded since 2.0. All
the fonts are a mess, webpages are all different
sizes and now the computer locks up when I hit the
print key. However, all my bookmarks are fine.

SM was meant by safe-mode.

new 2.3

2011-08-01 Thread Pat Connors
Okay, I just got home after a week away and see there is another new
version of SM. I am still on 2.0.14 and didn't update to 2.2 because of
all the complaints. Now we have 2.3 and more complaints. I really
don't know what to do. I like the version I am using. I am using
Windows 7 which seems to complicate all new program updates.

Just wondering how others using Win 7 have managed with the new update.
