What you can try is to reinstall the latest version of Window-eyes
that you have been using and then use the imergency removal tool to
uninstall it.
Good Luck.

Incidentally, just to be sure, although I had uninstalled Window-Eyes 9.5.4

At this point, then, I cannot move forward to install the newest edition of

However, I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience to

Hi Rod!
Yes, there must be some traces hiding in folders. That is hard to track
down.
The only thing I can think of now, is to do a reinstall of the Windows
version you have, and then upgrade to Win10 1709 after that.

I had to do that once.
You can go to settings, and enter on update and security, and do a reinstall
of Windows.
That is probably what you will have to do, because that will clean all of
that stuff off of your computer!

Have a great one!
You will have to do a clean install, which will take all of your stuff off
the computer, so you will have to back it up first.

Re: problem installing Windows 10 Fall Creator's update

2017-10-19 Thread Tom Kingston via Talk
All the folders being used should be Program Files (X86), ProgramData,
and Users\Name\AppData\Roaming\GW Micro.

But I suspect the real cause is in the registry.
I'd also caution you about doing a clean install of Windows. In theory
it's a good idea. But I did it once and was surprised at all the
additional components that were removed. A list of these will be in a
file placed on the desktop. Of course it will remove all of your
programs. But on my system it also removed things like Intel networking,
rapid storage, display adapter software and drivers, and replaced them
all with generic Windows software and drivers. So it amounts to
reformatting your C-drive and installing nothing but Windows from a DVD.
All OEM additions will be gone.

Good luck,
Tom

Subject: problem installing Windows 10 Fall Creator's update

Hi everyone,

I checked for updates manually in my Windows 10 Home system today, and, when
attempting to install the update I got the message that two apps would have to
be uninstalled since they were incompatible with the update.
These were named Window-Eyes 9.1 and below and Window-Eyes 9.3.
This is quite puzzling insofar as I completely uninstalled Windo-Eyes 9.5.4 and
reinstalled it.
For one thing, I could never have installed version 9.1 on this machine since I
got the system with Windos 10.
Okay, I began with Window-Eyes 9.2 and upgraded it along the way, but insofar
as I completely removed Window-Eyes 9.5.4 and then reinstalled it, it looks as
if Windows thinks I have old Window-Eyes files hanging around.
Incidentally, just to be sure, although I had uninstalled Window-Eyes 9.5.4
using Add/Remove Programs, I also downloaded and ran the Windo-Eyes Removal
tool just to be certain nothing was missed.
At this point, then, I cannot move forward to install the newest edition of
Windows 10.
I certainly can call the Microsoft Disability Answer Desk and see if they can
fix it.
However, I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience to mine.

Thanks,

Rod

Hi!
Try uninstalling Window Eyes altogether, and use Narrator to install the
update. That really worked well for me!
Narrator gives you more information about the status of the update anyway.
That is a suggestion.
