MT one message short

2004-09-24 Thread Dierk Haasis
Hello TBBETA Members!

Yes, two or three times now the MT showed one message less than was
actually new. Just now three messages were new and unread, two from
TBBETA, one from another list. MT showed messages, I
double-clicked on one (doesn't matter which since the MTVF opens
whichever message it considers to be the one, randomly) and got its
folder view showing two messages - as was now shown in the MT
  itself.

I maximised TB and, woops, there it was, the third message right in
its TB lists folder marked unread. Nothing special about message or
  folder.

  Anyone?

I tried it today morning again and Mulberry downloaded all mails in a

It is a quite annoying behaviour.

I've had this problem with a series 2.x version. Unfortunately I don't
recall which one it was, but if I remember right, this problem was
commented by others too. It was soon fixed, but I had a suspicion that
it may have been due to something done by my ISP rather than because
of The Bat.

In your case, the cause of the problem appears to be elsewhere. How
about your firewall or antivirus? These are two areas that I would
look into.

I will disable the FW tomorrow before downloading big chunks of
mails, but I doubt it is the problem, because v3 inherited all options
I had enabled for earlier TB versions.

The AV does not touch any emails, so this cannot be the malicious
problemmaker...

Sorting Office of VF creates AV

2004-09-24 Thread Peter Meyns
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi all,

when I try to open the Sorting Office of a Virtual Folder, I get two
subsequent AV pop-ups stating the following:

Access violation at address 00771E00 in module 'thebat.exe'. Read of
address 0510.

Then the SO opens and I can add a new filter. Alas, the Actions tab is
empty... Hitting del on this unusable filter creates the AV again,
then lets me ok it.

BTW, it looks like there is only one SO for all Virtual Folders, so it
doesn't make much sense anyway. Each VF should have its own filters.

Hendrik subject Antispam Bayes Filter Plugin v1.5.4 (Open Source) :

Check the path of the .dat files in the configuration of BayesFilter.

Thanks but that's not the problem either, and info shows that no learning has
taken place even though the filter has read a lot of email!

Hendrik I had a similar problem because the path marked in the BayesFilter
Hendrik configuration was not really existing on the hard drive.

Hendrik If you have really a valid path, try to create a 0-bite-File with the names

Hendrik database.dat
Hendrik undo.dat
Hendrik Whitelist.txt
Hendrik Blacklist.txt
Hendrik bayesfilter.log

Hendrik Then browse to this files via the BayesFilter
Hendrik Config-window. I's the unique
Hendrik idea i have to this problem...

The .dat files now exist (don't ask me why), but going into prefernces I am told that
there
no non-spam emails. Ok, I scan a bunch of non-spam and no longer get
that message.

The database.dat file is the same size and still dated yesterday,
despite my having scanned a lot today.

I have no idea what is going on.

Trying to read a non-existent log file crashed TheBat!

I guess that has nothing to do with my virtual recent folder, which
should contain stuff less than a day old, not containing anything from
today.

Could you tell if the Sender header field should also match on a
X-Sender header? This is what I've been seeing most of the time, so
I needed to revert to the pre-NFS way of doing this.

He forgot to renumber, and then right away Marek found it and fixed
it. By then several of us had already downloaded the v.18 file.

If you want yours to say v.18 in Help/About and the Splash Screen,
re-download and re-install.

It will look as if you're getting the same file--because you will
be--but the numbering is corrected now.

 (2) Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. I was talking about the
NFS filter condition Header field and the particular field
Sender. This was broken a few betas ago, then was fixed
and is now broken again in 18.

I've been trying to use this filter for some time now, but it seems to
break on some messages having a X-Sender: header. This is because
the filter seems to stop at the very first match it can find.

So, 1) is there any way to specify Sender: header only at the start
of a line? I've already tried regular expression syntax ^Sender:,
but that doesn't seem to work either. And 2) is there any way to
specify searching ALL the header fields for a matching header?

Anyway, you're right about beta 18, there using the sender header
doesn't work at all... I didn't try any other pre-specified or custom
header fields, but those might fail too, now.

Are you saying that the Header field-Sender condition,
although it does trigger on Sender: fields, is actually
triggering on X-Sender: fields?

Until it's fixed, you can replace:

Header field - Sender - the.address

with something like

Header - ^(?i-s)Sender:.*the\.address

Great, looking forward to 19 :-)

BTW, my work-a-round is also failing. I had:

Header field - Sender - Contains any of - addr1
 addr2

That worked in 17, but not 18. My work-a-round was

   Header - Matches any of - ^(?i-s)sender:.*addr1
 ^(?i-s)sender:.*addr2

That fails to trigger :-( My work-a-round to the
work-a-round is to do two separate tests within my condition
separated by OR:

   Header - Match - ^(?i-s)sender:.*addr1
   Or Header - Match - ^(?i-s)sender:.*addr2

That works!

Re: Yet another feature-request list (for NFS)

2004-09-24 Thread Boris Anders
Hello Boris,

Thursday, August 26, 2004, 11:10 you wrote at
mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Updated list - supplements or criticism sill welcome. Did I miss some
feature request?

Change: 19 is added
02 is fulfilled
10 is fulfilled

01. Common Filter
Wish you could say for each common filter, whether it has higher or
lower priority then account filters.

03. New Condition: Address Book Contact
Should check, whether From-Address is one of them, which are in the
Adress Book Contact of (e.g) 9Val. Sense: If 9Val change his E-Mail
adresse, I must only change the address in the address book (and not
in the three filters in NFS and in his VF) (I think I suggested this
alread :-)

04. Re-filter messages
The order of rule set to apply should be the same as in NFS and
contain the possibility to filter with common filter:
[ ] Common Filters
[ ] Outgoing mail
[ ] Read messages
[ ] Replied messages

05. Action: Delete
There should be following options:
[ ] delete parked message also
[ ] move in trash
[ ] Compress folder after deleting

06. Action: Move
There should be added the option:
[ ] move parked message also
[ ] unpark message

11. Action Run External program
With %1, TheBat! gives the message to the external program, but why
not according to a template? Default, %1 should give the message in
RFC-822 format, no question, but if I want, I should have the
possibility, to give the message in my template format. Guess this can
be easily realized (and %From,%ToList is not needed any more).

12. New Condition: Spam score is higher than value
is lower than
see mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

13. Buttons Move In/Move Out buttons for filters.

15. Move-up and Move-Down for conditions
A option for conditions, just like there is for actions.
see mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

17. Ask before delete Sub-Filters
If you delete a filter with Sub-Filters, I'd like to have the
following asking box

filter name has got sub-filters. Do you want to delete it?

[Yes] [Yes, but keep Sub-filters] [No]

If you select Yes, but keep Sub-filters the sub-filters shouldn't be
deleted but, moved out, while the original filter is deleted.

18. Cancel button
The changes from opening NFS until now are NOT saved and NFS is
closed. Very useful I think ...
mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

19. Suggestion of Thomas F. :

The suggestion is to make only one kind of filters, with checkboxes
whether this is an

[X] Incoming
[X] Outgoing
[ ] Read
[ ] Replied

Fulfilled:

07. If you press a letter e.g. a then the focus should jump throw
the filters, which starts with a. Worked in the OFS just fine - miss it
in NFS, yet.

09. There should be a hotkey, which opens the context menu of the
condition. With space you can jump throw the options but I think, it
can't be too hard, to set the arrow-down to open the context menu.

Alt + arrow down does it.

14. Buttons Move Up/Move Down

08. Selectiver Download
I'm missing them ...

16. Highlighting accounts using OFS (or NFS)
see mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

02. Remember Focus
TheBat! should remember for each account, which filter was selected
and whether the filter folders (Incoming messages, Sent messages,
Read messages and Replied messages) where opend or closed. So if
you select Common Filters the focus should jump e.g. to the third
read messages.

10. Condition Address group should have a select box (like source
folder has already).

Cursor not where I click

2004-09-24 Thread Cedric Fontaine
Bonjour !

I use Plain Text MicroEd editor and I have a problem in V3 :

When I click in the editor for editing the text I just wrote before, and came
from header, the cursor doesn't go immediately where I click. I have to click a
second time for the cursor being at the right place.

I think the first click just give the focus to the editor window when you come
from the header fields...

Bug or feature ?
