beta. At least twice I have read a message, then gone off to look for
something in TB! It's possible both were when I went to use the search
(F7), but I'm not sure. On one I followed a web link first, so I don't
know at what point this happened.

Anyhow, when I've come back to reply to the message, it is nowhere to
be found. It doesn't show up on the web access as a message or message
marked for deletion.

I don't know how to recreate it. I don't know whether there are other
messages which vanished and I don't know it because I didn't look for
them so I could reply.

But I sure can't find the messages.

On the other hand, this may be a new way of email communication. eg

Not that I like it, but then. At least we can make some use of the ugly blue bar. Never knew before why we have it at all, now I know.

I wonder how many people actually like the ugly blue bar. I wouldn't know any, but then, who do I know.

My suggestion is to reduce the ugly blue bar to a small sqiggly line by default.

 1. IMO it should be thinner by default. This bold line is just awful!

I wholeheartedly agree. (except that you may not have stated strongly

 2. The plain-text part should include the for quoted text, too.

When you made your plain text reply to my HTML message, did the blue

I'm not sure what you are trying to do. I have no problem sending

I had no problem moving some large messages from one mailbox to

I also sent one from gmail and I'll be watching it too. At least send

the message is there 17 times. Only 16 appear to be parked. The
message does not appear in my sent mail folder. When I hit the upward
pointing green arrow on an envelope icon, it says 'nothing to send'

I did recently observe a message I sent to a list appearing there

delayed sending

2009-06-11 Thread Dwight Corrin
First of all, my sent mail is wierd, because it always shows the
received time an hour later than the created date, including when it's
not during daylight savings time.

Yesterday at 9:14 am, I sent myself a message, to be dispatched at 8
am tomorrow (today). The message was sent today, at 9:04 am.

It appears in my sent mail, under yesterday's date, having been
created at 9:14 and received at 10:14.

It seems like it should appear as having been sent today at 9:04 am.
It also seems like it should have been sent at 8 instead of 9.

There is a second message, which was composed at the same time, and
set to be sent in 24 hours, by the custom setting. This message is
still sitting in the outbox, (it is currently about 11:35 am
Thursday).

It is true that TB's folder counts aren't accurate, and TB doesn't

I didn't have those problems either with XP.

 I have
found that seeming poor Imap reliability in all email clients has a lot
to do with connection configuration. This works for me in TB:
both in and out are set to use Secure To Dedicated Port, 465 for in
 and 993 for out.

As for folder counts, I can get good counts with other clients but
they are lacking some other things that TB does. There is no such
thing as a client that does everything well. I have decided to use
Fastcheck to tell me when new mail arrives

regardless of what client I am using. That way, that particular
feature can be disregarded in favor of other more important ones when
 deciding on an email client.

well, let's get this on released, so we can start on IMAP!

send timing

2009-05-21 Thread Dwight Corrin
This morning, when I installed this release candidate, I sent myself
some test messages. Several have been sent early. The one which is
supposed to go tomorrow morning at 8 am is still sitting in my outbox,
but has also arrived, at 5:17 pm this afternoon, with a creation time
of this morning when I made it.

I have a couple of others which came too soon and when I went back to
check my outbox again to see if they were still there, I noticed a
message I recently sent was still sitting in my outbox. (It
shouldn't have still been there, but that's a different problem.) It was the
only message which didn't have the little clock which I assume is
supposed to indicate a message is parked until it's expected send
time, and I hit send messages. All the remaining messages waiting on
the clock to go were also sent.

Yes, I think that many users are going to be very disappointed, and

other frolic such as this before IMAP becomes the focus of

I have never seen this error. I have been using fastmail and imap for
all my email since June, 2005.

If anyone here has used Fastmail, what has your experience with it

I have been on fastmail for quite a while now. I am very pleased with
it. And I certainly wouldn't ever want to go back to POP.

The closest to a complaint I have about fastmail is the fact that
their web access does not include threading. They are in beta testing
of a new interface now, and I wrote to ask about threading. The
response acknowledged that some users had requested it, but that it
wasn't in the cards with this upgrade.

I have been very pleased with their filtering, and I hardly use TB!
filters at all any more.

On vista now, I am not getting updates on the number of unread

I locked up when I clicked launch and closed the install window. I had
thebat and thebat splash both 'not responding' in the task manager. I
tried to end task on thebat first, to no avail. Only by end task on
the splash did it close down.

It seem to be running fine now.
