And the HTML answer has a broken OpenPGP signature.

I didn't try to reproduce it. But if you ask TB! to play a .wav file,
then that's what it does. You have just confirmed it. If the file is
40 minutes long, that's what you asked TB! to play. Most people will
use .wav files that are 1-4 seconds long, but it's OK if you are not
like most people.

I think it's WAD, and I hope it's reproducable - otherwise it would be
a bug.

The SMTP server in question was having problems delivering mail to the

sending test messages to the list. However, I think this one amounts to

I think that another bad thing is happening with these duplicates.
Since these are not true duplicates in the strictest sense, (ie they
are not on the server, just in the local folder) if you delete
one of the messages, manually or by using Delete Duplicates, when you
do a purge it will delete the only message that is on the server and
when it resyncs with the local folder you will have permanently lost
the original messages.

If you can understand my rambling, can anyone confirm?

There are no dups now, working well... thanks, IMAP seems much improved
overall.

However there is still a major problem. I inadvertently deleted a message in
my inbox... read a few more messages, and when I went back to browse
deleted messages, it was no longer there, nor was there any of the 80 or so
emails that I had deleted previously... This occurred without me manually
purging/compressing the folder. I am assuming this occurred when the folder
was refreshing.. and as you know, this is a definite no-no in IMAP.

The protocol calls for permanent removal of email by a 2 step method, first
being to delete the email, then using the expunge command to permanently
remove mail from the server. Mail should only be expunged by the user, or by
a feature option by the mail client when closing out.. but... as TB! stands
now, by taking over and expunging email that has been deleted, at free will,
at any time, without user knowledge, is not good.

was 1 Unread message in a subfolder (ie TB folder). I waited a couple

I then pressed F2 (My Shortcut) to Check New mail for All, at which

I marked your test message unread, making it the only unread message
in my account. I then hit alt-f2, which checks mail for all accounts
and did not duplicate your complaint.

I don't understand why you are using check mail for all accounts with
your IMAP account, since new mail always arrives in short order
without, and I think the refresh command would be the preferred method
with IMAP, but I don't have ignore check all mail command ticked for
my IMAP account so it did perform whatever gets performed with IMAP
accounts when requested.

Unchecking Smileys in the right-click context menu alone won't do it;

weekend. It's been going down every few days. I'm going to CC this
to him, in case he hasn't noticed yet that it's out again.

 G. That's it. I need to pull that box down and rebuild it from
scratch. It's just so dang unstable right now (at least the webserver
 is.)

Could you please post a note when the zip file is
available? Good luck with the rebuild!

It's up and running, at present. I downloaded Ben Allen's latest pic a
couple of hours ago:

Download the latest http://www.pcwize.com/thebat/smileys/rogues.zip
Here is who joined or updated: Ben Allen

I signed up to be notified by e-mail when there are changes in the
.zip, at the time I made a Roguemoticon account and submitted my own
photo there. So that's why I got the above quoted info.

This link will only get you a download dialog box. To put your own
picture up, go to: http://www.pcwize.com/thebat

Hi!

 - the [:]stuartc[:] expression is part of the ROGUES file which is intended to
   display the *senders* foto.

 - TB *knows* where the sig begins!

But a :rogue: is nothing more than a smiley for TB! and so it can't
choose to display it or not.

9Val, am I misunderstanding you?
Do you mean Roguemoticons from the Rogues folder and Rogues.msl file?

If so, I do agree.

Or do you mean all Smileys, from the Default and the PCW Images
folders and their .msl files?

That would be the equivalent of abandoning the Smiley capability and
it would make me very sad. :(

Don't look at me.. I didn't write the code in TB as to where they
 display.

Sorry. 9Val is already responding about it.

I was pretty sure that Peter Hampf misunderstood how things work, but
I wanted to give his ideas the benefit of the doubt, in case I was
myself wrong about it.

Thanks for writing, and sorry to bring up work which isn't even in

If you mean roguemoticons, I totally agree with you. The only place for this
kind of smileys should be the header pane. (i.e. sender photo)

9Val does mean the roguemoticons. I've just sent him a post that I
agree, also.

I think we can look forward to a change in how TB! handles this (no
more displays of Roguemoticons in message body, including sig; Rogue
pics appearing only in the headers).

In a beta coming soon to our neighborhood!

Good for you, Peter, for bringing the issue into focus again! :)

 Good news!

Yes!!

So forget about all the previous messages - I guess things are clear now :-)

Okay. I did read them. I think language only was getting in our way--I
am not too good at finding sentence structures that will convey
exactly what I mean!

But we're on the same page! Good job, Peter!!
