Yes, it might be a good suggestion. I second it ;-)

Perhaps it only happens in Chinese OS system... Since TB would use new unicode

I don't think that what I do would help you with the issue you are

This is an excellent tool. Wow. Now, this would require TB! to be able
to use this language information to choose the viewer profile, may
make it more complicated.

For myself, I wouldn't want to have to install and configure another
software, I would just like to use the current easy way. Keep it
simple. Defining a default viewer profile with easy switching to
another, would do it for me. This is how it is now.

The fact that I couldn't make the PTV to display a different font from

I thought making MicroEd UTF-aware would enable me to display

ST Hey, I am talking about adding more flexibility here! :-) I mean, it
ST will be possible to use multiple (not just two) profiles for viewer...

I only saw that I don't have any flexibility here... missed the part
where you mentioned added flexibility. Yes, sounds good, actually.

In the meantime, kindly let me use the PTV with Courier New again, I
don't want to have to read this list (and all my other mails) in
AngsanaUPC. Have you tried that font? If so, you'll understand what I
mean. And I don't want to have to change the settings in my RTV
either, because I do receive messages in Thai...

ST Your message reminds me about the idea to attach different font
ST settings to any character set, now it shaped into automatic choise
ST of a viewer profile based on message's character set.

I was just going to ask you what you mean by profile and how easy it
is to switch. Right now, I toggle by right-clicking in the message and
left-clicking on Use Plaintext, that's very quick and easy for me.

Changing the viewer profile based on character set is dangerous. I
receive messages in English language from people who use Thai encoding
as default on their computers - I want to read these messages in
Courier New. Other people will send message with that encoding in
Thai, which I want to read in AngsanaUPC.

Right now, the PTV with Courier New is set as the default, and I
believe your viewer profiles will also have a default profile, in
which I can set Courier New, with easy switching to AngsanaUPC. I
don't have need for a third font anymore, but I used to receive mails
with Chinese characters, usually addresses or company names in Chinese
inmidst an otherwise English email.

Summary: The viewers in 4.0.0.6 do exactly what I need. The situation
in 4.0.0.12 is such that it renders TB! unusable for me. If you want
to add flexibility, fine; but do not take the existing flexibility
away in the meantime. I will watch the announcements of new betas
(alphas) and will download again when I have a choice of
switching/toggling again.

Stefan replied in his mail to me that this is what they are planning.

I'm not so sure I want automatic switching of fonts gbased on charset:
People write to me in English from their Thai computers, using a Thai
encoding as default. The font should be switched according to the
language used, not the encoding. And I don't think that TB! can detect
the language, so let's just have a default and easy switching.

Idea: Let us choose the default font (viewer profile) per account, not
as a global setting. And maybe let us override the account setting in
the folder settings.

Well, if we would not have had such a lot of things to do,
they would have been able to release the 4.0 Version in the
first half of january (formerly known as christmas
edition) but did you ever try to paint red or burgundy
rabbits ???

I don't about the above correction, but I can say that with this
version, I can again create a new folder without having an AV.

Hooray!

Thanks for the good work.

If this is intended to be an Alpha, as would appear obvious,
why not name the packed file tba40012.rar instead of
tb40012.rar.

Why not use tba for Alphas, tbb for Betas and thebat for
releases?
