if the conclusion is correct, you can look at a software called HTTPORT, which

There are TEST virus files from EICAR.

See:
http://www.eicar.org/

The files themselves are at:
http://www.eicar.org/anti_virus_test_file.htm

IIRC there are .COM, .EXE, .ZIP versions and maybe more. Try to email

It means that it's not fully de-installed, and that the remnants, the

Quick and dirty? Make a copy of your c:\program
files\the bat!\ directory Also make a copy of
TB's part of the registry (Start regedit and
 export: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat!
) Now update to the current version and play
with it. If you don't like it, just copy your v2
 copy back and delete
 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat! from
your registry and import the previous settings
 back.

Your message base, accounts and filters can still be read. Only
problem is that settings changed to your account and folder
properties, filters or preferences will be
set back to before you were
using v3. (That includes the loss of newly created accounts or
 folders)

I am dealing with close to 400 folders and
associated filters (and a LOT of mail). Are you
saying I will lose the filters/folders if I try 3
and then revert to 2? Or will I just lose
anything newly created in 3?

Well, you were right, one filter was not enough, at least not to my

MM Yep. Okay... Well, nothing then, you just will have to add another

that message not using this address will be deleted from server. The

Synchronisation Problems

Hello TB! Users,

I have been having problems with Synchronisation over the last couple
of releases of TB! When I attempt stage 3 of the synchronization
process, I get file errors Error Reading File - if I try
several times, I will eventually get through the process, but I end up
with many thousands of duplicates. In my latest attempt, one of my

synchronisation attempt in the end.

Is this just me? Being able to synchronize TB! between my desktop

Quick and dirty?
Make a copy of your c:\program files\the bat!\ directory
Also make a copy of TB's part of the registry (Start regedit and
export: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat! )
Now update to the current version and play with it.
If you don't like it, just copy your v2 copy back and delete
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat! from your registry and import
the previous settings back.

Your message base, accounts and filters can still be read. Only
problem is that settings changed to your account and folder
properties, filters or preferences will be set back to before you were
using v3. (That includes the loss of newly created accounts or
folders)

I'm not sure what you mean with a forum file. Do you mean you export
them to an external file? In that case it would be possible to extract
the proper subject from the version garbled by Norton AntiSpam
When you mean you move them to a folder within TB then it's not
possible to what you want.

I can't imagine though that it's not possible to tell Norton to keep
from adding stuff to non-spam messages.

One note. I haven't used them in a while, but to really accurately
gauge the test and your e-mail application response, you need to do
them more or less one at a time.

A few years back I said Send 'em all baby! But was so confused by
which one tried what thing, and whether it succeeded or not. There's a
lot of tests there.

Thanks, Eric. That confused me for a while. Knowing the root word (the
Latin instabilis) I was convinced it's okay, at least as to British
spelling. However, M-Webster also shows it as a regular spelling, but
TB's British checker (and American CSAPI one) says it's incorrect.

I think now is better not to touch anything, and pretend Englishman.

Hi Bob,

I use as my first filter:

RECIPIENT contains TBUDL

or HEADER contains TBUDL

with the Action to move to a separate folder, in my case, called The
Bat.

(The RECIPIENT part is probably redundant.)

This might be what you need.

I never tried this but enough often did this...

1) Export the said entry first into a .reg file (Registry | Export Registry
File...), say TB.reg.

2) Open the TB.reg file in some text editor and simply replace not
wanted paths with wanted ones (via Search/Replace function).

3) Delete the old entry in Registry (just in case).

4) Run the edited TB.reg file.

...and that would fix the problem; you would have all settings unchanged
and just the wanted paths changed.

(For instance, if in TB.reg file not wanted path would be
c:\\programs\\TB\\, you would replace it with some d:\\see!\\TB\\, and
that would be all.)

I got this to work, after editing the registry, but I had to

was the option to choose a directory then. Thanks for the help.

Thread Creation Error?

2006-02-10 Thread BJH
Hi

Suddendly my installation of TheBat! has gone pear shaped!

I keep getting the following error:

Thread creation error: Not enough storage is available to process
this command

Eh?

The error seems to occur whenever a folder is accessed.

How many Gigabytes does it need?

I've got a minimum 20Gb free on all partitions, 512Mb RAM running
XPSP2 with all updates, all drives are kept defragged by PerfectDisk 7
and my 'temp' folder is clean.

What more can I do?
