[tw5] Re: How to change the colors of only one editor toolbar button

2019-03-14 Thread TonyM
Ton,

Thanks for raising this question and now the answers are online. In a
related issue I have always thought if we want to add buttons and snipits
etc... to the EditorToolbar it is a bit of a hassle finding new icons, so
using colour will help. I think it would be nice if we could create buttons
that use a simple character or fontawesome item allowing a larger range of
buttons to be created as needed.

I wonder if anyone has done that?

Tony

[tw5] Re: How to change the colors of only one editor toolbar button

2019-03-14 Thread JD
That's neat, and disregarding the hover effect, even has fewer lines!

Again I don't know on desktop how this looks but you can also add a width to
the svg to make it narrower. This looks ok on my phone:

---

.tc-editor-toolbar button .tc-image-button {
 padding: 4px 0px;
 font-size: 1.45em;
 width: 30px;
}

--

I just added the 30px width.

[tw5] Re: Tiddler Commander

2019-03-14 Thread Mohammad
Hi Tony!
 If you noticed, the filter search now will not work if you do not press
the search icon at the right!
The problem was changing the textbox does not notify the select tiddlers!

To solve this issue I had to add that extra button! By the way when you
press it, the search filter will be sent to Select tiddlers!
In other word, these two works separately, but you update the Select
tiddlers by pressing the search button and sending the filter search to
Select tiddler!

I will check to see how I can make a connection between these two!

[tw5] Re: Tiddler Commander

2019-03-14 Thread TonyM
Mohammad,

Suggestion: Could you display the filter that was used to generate the list
under select? If the search button is not pressed, the filter in the search
field may not match the one used to generate the list.

By displaying the filter that generates the list this can be cross checked,
or be "in the face" of the user.

@Mohammad,

using the wikify widget for this usecase seems to be useless, this can
easily done without:

<$set name="tidBMod" value={{{ [[Bb]get[modified]] }}}>
<$set name="tidAMod" value={{{ [[Aa]get[modified]] }}}>
<$reveal type="match" text="yes" default={{{ [] []
+[nsort[]last[1]removeaddprefix[yes]removesuffix] ~[[no]]

Yes, Aa is newer

<$reveal type="match" text="no" default={{{ [] []

No, Aa is older

[tw5] Re: Quinoid v0.0.8alpha Downloadable, Configurable Resources

2019-03-14 Thread 'Mark S.' via TiddlyWiki
Well, more mysterious.

Possibly G. decided to roll back their permissions requirements between v7
and v8 ? I doubt that Android retains permissions after uninstalls. That
would be a security breach, I think.

So you tried 313a again? If you closed it out entirely (via the app
manager, force close perhaps) and restarted, did the resource list populate?

I'm trying to understand if I've done anything that would completely
disappear the resource list, of if it's just an edge case.

Do you have a Google-made phone or other? Google makes (or works closely
with) the Nexus, Pixel, and two of the HTC phones. I ask because G. has
certain rules for Android, but manufacturers (rhymes with Ham-Hung) can
bend those rules. The bent rules may actually work better for consumers.

Thanks again!

I assume it wikifies the macrocall itself before the macros are
"executed"/"rendered"

There's a difference between wikify text=<> and wikify
text="<>"

[tw5] Re: Specifying the Type attribute for a list

2019-03-14 Thread passingby
Thank you. This is just as I thought. I only wanted to make sure I am not
missing some tiddlywiki shorthand. Right now I am sometimes in a need of
starting a list from a mid value. Like (iv) or something and then sublists
with 'a' or 'A'. I am using inline html tag like .
This is working fine but I wanted to know if there was a shorthand which
will reduce the typing.

Nothing asked for extra permissions. Not on 313a or 312b.

TBH I am totally unclear if that is because I granted them on Q. before
(i.e. its privileges are set in some setting file already regardless) or
because the install natively does it anew?

[tw5] Re: How to change the colors of only one editor toolbar button

2019-03-14 Thread Ton Gerner
Hi,

I played around with JDs solution (which as such works) and tried to
simplify and polish it.

To my surprise I ended up with a 'flexless' solution which - at least under
my conditions (Linux Mint 19.3, Firefox & Chrome) - gives good results:

.tc-editor-toolbar > .tc-reveal > button {
 padding: 0px;
}

.tc-editor-toolbar button .tc-image-button {
 padding: 4px 0px;
 font-size: 1.45em;
}

.tc-editor-toolbar button .tc-image-list-bullet {
 fill: white;
 background-color: #0044BB;
 border-radius: 4px;
}

.tc-editor-toolbar button:hover .tc-image-list-bullet {
 fill: #0044BB;
 background-color: #D1DDF3;
}

One minor issue: the buttons are a little bit wider than normal.

Cheers,

Ton

Create two tiddlers in tiddlywiki.com titled *Aa *and *Bb*

Now create a tiddler with below code inside it. This code compares the
modified date of two tiddlers and shows yes
if Aa is newer than Bb and vice versa!

\define gt()
$(TidA)$ $(TidB)$ +[nsort[]last[1]remove[$(TidB)$]]
\end

\define is-it-newer(TiddlerA, TiddlerB)
<$set name=TidA  tiddler=<<__TiddlerA__>> field="modified">
<$set name=TidB  tiddler=<<__TiddlerB__>> field="modified">
<$list filter=<> emptyMessage="no">

You will get different results

yes
no

[tw5] Tiddler Commander: Release Candidate

2019-03-14 Thread Mohammad
 I think tiddler Commander now is enough stable to be released as a plugin!
I would ask Jeremy to see the possibility to distribute it as an OFFICIAL
PLUGIN!

Commander has

   1. Bulk tiddler creation/deletion
   2. Tag operation (add, remove, replace)
   3. Field operation (add, remove, set value)
   4. *SNR*, search and replace in all fields including text, tags,
   *title, *and common fields)
   5. *Inspect*, to inspect bunch of tiddlers in one place, scroll among
   them and edit all fields, tag, common fields (title is an exception!)
   6. log, Commander create a logs of all operations
   7. Search, Commander lets *save and load* any combination of filter
   search

Tiddler Commander is a Swiss Knife. It will be a useful tool both for
developers and users.

The below is the last update before packing into Commander plugin!

I highly appreciate your feedback. I will add documentation in two levels
(developer docs and user docs) but this will be the next activity!

[tw5] Re: Quinoid v0.0.8alpha Downloadable, Configurable Resources

2019-03-14 Thread 'Mark S.' via TiddlyWiki
Hi TT,

Feedback is always useful, though sometimes painful.

Did the 313a version prompt you for permissions?

The missing resources is worrisome. However, did you happen to check the
Document/TwFile directory? It's possible that the resources were there, but
hadn't loaded into the list. In theory, after you give permissions, the
system will have the power to create the directory and load the resources.
But if it didn't ask you for permissions, then that might not happen.
Completely shutting down Q and restarting might have activated the
resources without installing 312. So knowing if it prompted for permissions
would be useful.

Having it empty the Documents/TwFiles during uninstall is surprising. In
theory, anything in public directory should remain after an uninstall.

Thank you!

Here's a trimmer version of the previous macro. It seems to work and
doesn't require calling a macro on each list item:

\define f1() [enlist]-[enlist]
\define f2() [enlist]-[enlist]

I think to find out which version is more efficient you'd have to load up a
huge array and time the difference. With only a handful of items, the
priority is which code is easiest to read and fix later on ?

[tw5] Re: Quinoid v0.0.8alpha Downloadable, Configurable Resources

2019-03-14 Thread @TiddlyTweeter
Mark S.

This is just an FYI from Andy 8.0.0 on a Motorola something. No need to
respond.

I did Housekeeping to remove loads of test wiki and clean-up... and clean
reinstall.

That illustrates that pathing is taken over on Android now.

1 -- Uninstalled Quinoid --- NOTE this deleted all the TW in "TwFiles" but
not the JSON of settings nor the folder.

2 -- Deleted "TwFiles" folder including the JSON.

3 -- Deleted other test wiki all over the directory shop I'd messed with.

4 -- Tried to install (on Andy 8) 313a apk. Installed. But Resources were
EMPTY.

5 -- Uninstall 313a fully. Install 312b. Installed as expected. Resources
are there.

FYI the install directory for auto wiki is INTERNAL storage in
"Documents/TwFiles" (/storage/emulated/0/Documents/TwFiles) on my thingie.
Appropriate and well workable. I have NO idea how they get there rather
than anywhere else. I'm content though.

I just thought you might like to hear of a case re-done from zero?

Best wishes
Josiah

[tw5] Re: Tiddler Commander

2019-03-14 Thread Mohammad
 I think tiddler Commander now is enough stable to be released as a plugin!
I would ask Jeremy to see the possibility to distribute it as an OFFICIAL
PLUGIN!

Commander has

   1. Bulk tiddler creation/deletion
   2. Tag operation (add, remove, replace,)
   3. Field operation (add, remove, set value)
   4. *SNR*, search and replace in all fields including text, tags, *title,
   *and common fields)
   5. *Inspect*, to inspect bunch of tiddlers in one place, scroll among
   them and edit all fields, tag, common fields (title is exception!)
   6. log, Commander create a logs of all operation
   7. Search, Commander lets *save and load* any combination of filter
   search

Tiddler Commander is a Swiss Knife. It will be a useful tool both for
developer and users.

The below is the last update before packing into Commander plugin!

I highly appreciate your feedback. I will add documentation in two levels
(developer docs and user docs) but this will be the next activity!

*Tiddler Commander has new update*

[tw5] Re: Tiddler Commander: A Tiddler Toolkit

2019-03-14 Thread Mohammad
Hello Watt,
 Many thanks for your feedback!

Sure, I absolutely will document all parts of Commander! I will do what you
are asked!

By the way at the moment all of my efforts focused on finalizing the
Commander to be distributed as PLUGIN!
As you see still is as Release Candidate and is not packaged as plugin!

After I get a stable version, I will start documenting! I myself learned
alot in developing Commander!

One important point: If you go deeper, you will find Commander is modular!
Of course it can be much better, but
you can simply on/off features! and add your own! To ease this part, I
gonna to write developer document!

Please keep in touch and let me know your feedback evaluating Commander!

Last point: Commander developed by help of all of you! If you search this
forum you see many people involved directly or indirectly! So, I think
Commander is a collaborative project!

Thank you Watt! Thank you all

[tw5] Re: Tiddler Commander: A Tiddler Toolkit

2019-03-14 Thread Watt
Hi Mohammad

Tiddler Commander is looking better all the time. You are so prolific it is
hard to keep up with you! Thanks for your persistent efforts and developing
this very useful tool.

I have two requests to try and slow you down!

1. Is easy. Could you include a footer on all your forum posts with links to
your project homepages? The forum here moves on quickly and it's not always
easy backtracking to find the links.

2. Not so easy, but I would like to second Tony's suggestion above:

"Can I suggest in each tiddler with a macro not dedicated to Commander, that
you add the field macro-macroname where macro name is exactly how it is named.
Then in the field macro-macroname add the format .
<> Describe and tell them about the parameters

You can then list all fields with the prefix "macro-" display there format and
the tiddler in which they are defined."

Maybe this list could be incorporated and promoted here:
https://kookma.github.io/TW-Commander/#Index%20of%20TW5%20batch%20operations

At the moment the Commander uses many useful and applicable filters that would
serve as wonderful examples for TW users of all levels, but the magic is by
necessity hidden within the workings of the machine.

As a perpetual beginner I would love to see the mechanics explained a little
more or at least be a little more accessible to users who would like to apply
them in their own projects.

As Tony suggests, appropriate id fields, maybe combined with structured
templates for each macro/filter category, might allow a separate tiddler for
each description and allow you to generate an illustrative library of filters
and macros. With a working Tiddler Commander to show them in action!

Maybe with the addition of a brief explanation of the role of filters and
macros in TW you would be producing an invaluable practical tool and an
educational resource at the same time. That nobel prize could be within reach
Mohammad!

All easier said than done I'm sure. I told you I was trying to slow you down ;)
If all that sounds like too much would simply adding a small info button to
Tiddler Commander that shows the full filter currently being applied be
possible? (Not just the user input part eg 'tag[xx]' but the fully constructed
filter).

In any event keep up the great work and thanks for Tiddler Commander.

Ciao Mark S.

Regarding the Clip function (using "b" apk) ... I tested as follows ...

1 -- With both Quinoid and Chrome "open" -- i.e. both started--though one
is hidden when you use the other one.

2 -- With Q. closed. Chrome clip and close. Open Q.

Both scenarios worked for me. The clip is there.

Multiple clips in one session in a browser are added to one tiddler.
That is great on sites like YouTube where just clicking "Share" will add
addresses of a videos,one per line.

However, I only ever get ONE Q. clip in the Capture wiki. If I do a second
"clip session" it overwrites the first?
Or am I misunderstanding something?

Best wishes

Ciao Mark S.

I tried adding a Resource to bring in one of my own wiki. It worked well.

That feature is extremely useful!

The only issue was editing JSON accurately on a tiny screen. So I just used
an Android JSON editor which made it a breeze.

Many thanks

[tw5] Re: Vertically centering an icon and text in the same cell of a table

2019-03-14 Thread John Thornton
Hello again.

I solved my problem with localizing the CSS to specific areas to a higher
degree. I was aware I can provide CSS class names to be associated to the
table. By simply using the class names I can localize the CSS to the table.
It is somewhat similar to the method of using 'id=' and for all intents,
the effect is the same.

Thank you all. I am not soliciting any more input on this matter. Anything
you care to add is always welcome.

I'm sorry to hear that, I think it's the first TW5 I've encountered that
doesn't show as pillarboxed on normal PC monitor. Both of the other
TiddlyWiki's you linked have rather sever pillarboxing making them
effectively unusable on a normal widescreen monitor.

[tw5] Re: Vertically centering an icon and text in the same cell of a table

2019-03-14 Thread John Thornton
Thank you, S. S. The problem I have with that solution I mentioned before.
I am doing this in TiddlyWiki, and I have not seen a way to use the 'id'
form of CSS selectors, because I have not seen how to tag an element in a
TiddlyWiki table with and 'id'. Maybe it is obvious and something I missed,
but without that 'id', I can't use CSS that uses that form of selector.

Thank you all for your patience. You all have provided a solution that is
usable in my wiki. At this point I am just increasing my knowledge and
options.

[tw5] Bound an Action to EditText Widget

2019-03-14 Thread TonyM
Mohammad,

if you did this it would act on every letter even perhaps arrows and backspace.
To avoid this an ok or save button may be needed in which you can place any
action.

However If you edit a field or text field it can be interrogated for the
current value every key stroke so you could have a separate search or other
process testing it, and responding with wiki text.

Perhaps explain what you want to do.

Regards
Tony

Thank you, Subi 54. It will take me a bit to understand that snippet and
how to use it.

Use something like this perhaps:

```
<$list filter="[rank[tabimgcss]]">
[data-tiddler-title^="<$view field=title/>"] img {
vertical-align: middle;
}
```

Just put `rank` in field of the riddles which contain the tables and use
`tabimgcss` as the value.

[tw5] Re: Vertically centering an icon and text in the same cell of a table

2019-03-14 Thread John Thornton
Thank you, Oxydum. It worked and makes sense in its consistency with the
HTML embedded CSS markup. I do not understand it, though. To me, the image
seems centered and the text seems not to be centered. It seems
counter-intuiitive that changing the centering on the image changes the
positioning of the text.

Another thing bothers me with that solution. The alignment change will be
on all images. I really would only like to have that change affect images
in the table cells, and even the cells of onlly certain tables. It there an
easy CSS selector that would accomplish this? in the HTML version, the CSS
is all embedded. That is a painful way of doing things, for sure. In that
implementation, I could not figure out how to add CSS on a wiki-wide basis
(PBworks). Both in PBworks and TiddlyWiki I know I could add CSS at a page
level, which would limit its scope and still present a cleaner, more
manageable appearance. I have worked through a CSS tutorial. The kind of
mechanism that could work is limiting the scope of the img {} CSS affect
with and 'id' selector. I could not figure out how to do that in
TiddlyWiki. If I could limit the img {} CSS effect to only tables or table
cells, that would also limit its scope to close to 100% of the cases I
would desire it.

Thank you all for any additional advice.
