Why would you receive the notifications ? Just to know what change has been commited to the repository almost as soon as it is. Without this notification, you would have to use svn client to see the change log. [twsocket] [OT] Borland C++ Builder 5
Hi Everyone I know this is off-topic, but I figured you may be able to help best. We inherited some code that is written for Borland C++ Builder 5 but due to licensing restrictions, we were not given the tool itself. Now, we tried to build it with C++ Builder 2006 (free and paid) but ended up with many internal compiler error problems. It seems that this is due to the heavy use of STL in the code. I was wondering if any of you have old copies of Borland C++ Builder 5 that you would like to clear off. If yes, could you contact me off-list moh...@onghu.com with some quotation so that I can discuss it here. I could transfer you the cost by Paypal or something and you'll need to mail me the CD to Singapore (unless you're *in* Singapore!). Any ideas where else we may be able to get a copy or two? This will be a really long holiday! The auto-responder on this email sends out an email to the list. The list forwards it back to his email box. The auto-responder then sends out another email to the list - and the process continues!! Can someone temporarily remove this user so that s/he can join again when they return. Re: [twsocket] Idea about forming a new mailing list
I'll just add to that one bit. There is a good balance between 100% moderation and spam control which is what I follow on my mailing lists on Yahoo! My default policy is that a user cannot post unmoderated. Anyone can sign on and listen but when they want to post, their *first* post is moderated by me. When a new user posts to the list, I check if it is spam - if it's spam, I don't bother with it. If it's a reasonable post, I allow it and change the user's status to being unmoderated. It works very very well! The only way someone can spam is if they first post a relevant on-topic email. I don't know if spam bots do that yet... Cheers Mohit. Dave Baxter wrote: From personal experience. I'm a registered user of several Yahoo mailing list's, and it's a pain! They regularly get hit with spam, and-or the address lists are hacked and then used outside of Yahoo by www spammers. Not just my suspicions either, myself and many others have experimented by setting up bogus user names, and it's a suprisingly short time (the record for me, was 5 minutes!) till you get the first spam addressed to the bogus name. Unsubscribing yourslef doesn't fix the spam problem either, implying the spamers recipient list is no longer part of Yahoo. Yes, you get email messages, digest delivery a web accessable searchable archive, and file area, but at a cost of serious vulnerability to prying eyes, many of (at best) unknown intent. This list here, can send digests, if that is what you want, I use that already. Connect to it's admin web page, log in with your email and password, and you can change the way it delivers to you. Unless you plan to have a 100% moderated Yahoo list (that needs to be 24/7) that Francois will willingly partake in, I'd say for now anyway, forget it. Same thing about web based forums. You get split up too easily wasting much time trying to keep up with all the various threds, with email, it comes to you, and can be filtered by subject, sender or whatever you wish. I've said this several times before over the years, but other people have 'better' ideas, none of which seem to actually seem to produce anything. Correct, it's not moving forward. It's probably three months work for someone to build decent help from that Not anybody likes plenty of comments in the source units, and even 3 months is a long time, however we should think about that again since the Wiki seems to be dead. Also note that it is extremly difficult to write documentations in a non native language. As regards this point, I will be happy to help out with fixing the English in any ICS documentation that is done. I have previously worked with people who have written documentation in their language, then used a web translator to convert that into English. This English is funny at best and wrong at worst. But, since I have no problems with English and a computer engineer, I am often able to 'fix' this to what a native speaker would write. So, if someone does start to write in not-so-good English or in a foreign language (that is supported by a web translator), we can work it out! Maybe you could also directly write the help text in http://wiki.overbyte.be. You can write whatever part you feel confortable with. Other people will complete. For example - do not take this as an offence but an example - you can read Delphi source code but don't know anything about ICS, then you can enter all the methods, properties and events and someone else will enter the exact description. I shall start on it as soon as I have the time.. I am rushing for something that needs doing by the middle of next week.. But I have bookmarked the wiki for exactly that reason. [twsocket] POSTing images to a server

Is there some sample that I could refer to?
