[Bug 1912933] [NEW] Pulseaudio dummy output after upgrade to 20.04
Public bug reported: I just upgraded a working system from an up-to-date 18.04.5 installation to 20.04.1 and lost sound in the process. [Bug 1756754] [NEW] package grub-pc 2.02-2ubuntu8 failed to install/upgrade: installed grub-pc package post-installation script subprocess was killed by signal (Aborted)
Public bug reported: The upgrade of grub failed during upgrade from xenial to bionic. During the upgrade process I was presented a graphical debconf window with the devices to install grub on, but the elements in the list (sda and sda1) didn't have the checkboxes they were supposed to have to select either of these. I still clicked next and got the warning that I was not going to install grub, then clicked next again and it cycled to the initial window. In the end I closed the window and the upgrade continued. Later in the upgrade process I was presented with the grub device choice again, and this time it was functional. I think I remember seeing gtk / gdk warnings so I think something in the toolkit stack was broken the moment debconf tried to make me choose a grub device. I can see 2 bugs : - The broken / non functional debconf window at some point in the upgrade process. - Why did I have to get this question in the first place for the upgrade ? Yes, this happens when there are non-ascii character in one of the apt sources files. …which must be very common because the disabled sources comment added by the release upgrade process is localized ! For example in French, the following was added to all my sources.list.d/*.list.distUpgrade during former upgrades : désactivé pour la mise à niveau vers raring désactivé pour la mise à niveau vers saucy (which translates to something like « disable for raring uprgade disabled for saucy upgrade ») This gives us a clue that this bug is a regression from the Trusty cycle. The raring - saucy upgrade did work eventhough there were already non-ascii characters in sources files. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1278280 Title: ubuntu-release-upgrader crashes with DistUpgrade/sourceslist.py, line 416, in save : UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode characters in position 97-114: ordinal not in range(128) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1278280/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

For the sake of completeness I've tested the last upstream kernel (currently 3.8.2-raring), but it doesn't change anything. With secure boot disabled both the current 12.10 kernel and 3.8.2-raring boot correctly. [Bug 855101] [NEW] [oneiric] Gimp fullscreen mode broken : launcher and menu bar don’t hide

[Bug 855156] [NEW] [oneiric] gnome-control-center shown as a Displays icon in launcher
Public bug reported: When launched from the session indicator - System settings…, gnome-control-center is shown in the launcher as the « Displays » icon (screenshot). If you happen to have pinned the Displays icon to your launcher, the icon gets the left arrow marker for the gnome-control-center being opened.
