[Bug 389453] Re: Ubuntu will not boot, freezes at Starting up...
Well, this isn't an Ubuntu bug after all. I am able to reproduce this same behavior on Windows 7 Pro - if the USB dongle is plugged in when the system goes through POST, I am not able to boot to either Ubuntu 10.04 or Windows 7. Windows 7 freezes during the middle of its boot procedure, and I can only boot the system if I start off with the dongle unplugged and then plug it in after the OS starts. This leads me to believe it's a problem with the Logitech USB dongle and my hardware (which, btw, is a Biostar TA790GX motherboard, AMD Phenom II 940, 8 Gigs of RAM). -- Ubuntu will not boot, freezes at Starting up... https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/389453 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I've always experienced the bug as the original author posted, but now it is worse. I'm not sure what has changed on my system - perhaps some X or Gnome updates. KeePassX now refuses to copy into the system clipboard completely, whether I right-click-copy, double-click on the password field, or ctrl+c. [Bug 355150] [NEW] xorg consumes CPU, scrollwheel stops working, applications stutter/freeze after 2-3 hrs of usage
Public bug reported: I'm experiencing a few problems with 9.04 xorg, a Radeon 3300, and fglrx: 1) Screen flashes randomly, as if the video card power cycles. My monitor (Dell 2407WFP) shows the DVI symbol when it comes back, so it seems like it's doing some sort of power save/resume. 2) I configured xorg to turn off my monitor after X minutes, but it doesn't seem to do anything. 3) This last one is harder to pinpoint, but it seems like after Xorg has been running for a while (1-3 hours), Xorg consumes as much CPU as it can and the overall system becomes very sluggish. I'm unable to open any new applications. The scrollwheel on my mouse quits working. Open applications, such as firefox, continue to work slowly. I did a little more investigating.. On my Ubuntu 7.10 Dell D610 laptop, it happens on both the Ubuntu version of Firefox 2.0.11 and the official Mozilla.org 2.0.11 tarball. Google Documents is fine, but Google Spreadsheet makes the entire system crawl.. and looking carefully at the output of 'top', it is caused by the X.org process, not the firefox-bin process. However, I downloaded Swiftfox 3.0b3 for Pentium M, and Google Calc no longer cause a problem like it does on Firefox 2.0.11. I can't seem to find a 2.0.11 version of Swiftfox so I'm unable to test to see if it is something in the standard Ubuntu/Mozilla build process that doesn't jive with Pentium M processors. -- Firefox eats 100% of CPU when opens a spreadsheet in google's documents and spreadsheets https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/95078 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
