No, that is not implemented on the piCore OS. It has been something
that I've been meaning to work out for pCP. But its very rare. With
all the crap I do during development, I've never corrupted a card. The
fat based boot partition gets marked dirty often, but that doesn't keep
it from working.

This is a problem, I've not tried it with window 10, but make sure
newconfig.cfg is all lowercase. Alternatively, since you have a
keyboard connected.just boot a fresh image and run setup. You an
enable wifi using that method.

There are no special partitions. Windows doesn't recognize the ext4
format of the 2nd partition, but that shouldn't stop win32diskimager.
Any disk imager shouldn't care what the data is. even if it is reading
past a normal partition, there should still be valid data. ...a CRC
error is more likely a problem with the physical card.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Transporter clicking on/off with picoreplayer

2018-02-04 Thread rlc999

thanks for the suggestions. The issue seems to have died down, so I'm
not going to worry about it. I was doing some configuration of
picoreplayer and LMS when this happened. When I turned off the
Transporter, perhaps LMS was running in the background or something,
given the configuration changes I had made and synch'g up cache or
something, and thus causing this on/off behavior. When it was
happening, if I shutdown LMS (using the web interface to picoreplayer),
the behavior would stop. So, while I don't really understand it, it's
gone away, so I won't worry about it. Thanks again.

Any experience with the JustBoom IR remote ?

Looks nice for £13.

I know it will need a lirc.conf but are there any usability issues
anyone ?

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Transporter clicking on/off with picoreplayer

2018-02-04 Thread epoch1970

I suppose the Pi is a DAC.
Is it possible that the Pi activates the DAC output regularly and the
Transporter wakes-up, somehow?

Does the Transporter click when squeezelite is shut down? When
piCorePlayer OS is completely stopped? When the Pi is powered off (power
physically removed)?

highly likely its the powersupply issue on the Transporter. Easy simple
cheap fix (can you use a screwdriver). See these links. When you buy
the new power supply, buy several (parts are way cheaper than the
shipping).

Do any of the keys work with jivelite?

For the JustBoom USB remote I had to make 'a C code change for the OK,
back and menu buttons'
that required recompiling the SDL library and 'an additional lua file
change for the Menu button'

Thanks Ronnie,
I've tried now USB Image Tool - the result is exactly the same: CRC
error after 47%. I imagine that this is related to the card type and/or
the sd card reader of my Vaio. Will try with another card reader
tomorrow.
Best regards

Hi Martin, you can try 'this' (http://www.alexpage.de/usb-image-tool/)

Are you using the latest version of WinScp32?.

That has a little check box to "read only Allocated partitions" which
will keep the files size down a bit, you can also verify the copy.

Also run it as Administrator. (like all these tools for burning,
copying and formatting).

Hi,
I#ve been trying to make img files as backups, but image creation fails
with win32 disk mager as well as with Roadkil's disk image. W32di says
after 47%: "Read error: An error ocurred when attempting to read data
from handle. Error 23: Data error (CRC check)".
The partition doesn't have any errors.
Is this due to some special partition details of PCP? If so, are there
other ways to clone a SD card on a Windows machine?
Thanks & regards
Martin

Thanks Paul - still no success, actually I can't test it, because it
seems that introducing startup scripts (user commands etc.) interefers
with loading the stuff for my 3.5 touchscreen...
